Asher

"Bastard! You bastard!" Leo growled, his voice heavy with a seething rage as he glared at Xenra.

"You dare lay your filthy hands on my father, and you have the guts to say it to my face?" He continued, disbelieving, ringing in his tone as his eyes glinted with wrath.

The veins on his face became more visible as he seethed, and at that moment I felt my strength seeping off my shoulders.

My knees couldn't hold me up anymore, and I staggered backward; my steps took Xenra unaware, and despite her efforts to hold me back, I fell to my knees.

"Asher, Asher, Are you okay?" Xenra asked, her words rushed and urgent as she stared at me, desperation glinting in her eyes.

From the look on her face, I could tell she really wasn't waiting for my response. She had gotten the answer herself and had only asked because she was scared. I could see it in her eyes. An unfamiliar look I had never seen before, even when she pretended to be an ordinary maid, even when she went through the harsh punishm

  • Mysterious Mate    Chapter 1

Behind the walls of the ancient Maltos Castle, a unique scent of roses and blood coated the air. The room could be described as a black paradise, with black painted walls and thick striped curtains. A huge four-poster bed lay in the middle, the black curtain sheets stretched, wrinkled by the entangled bodies hidden beneath them. The ethereal beauty sprawled on the bed, with the arms of her lover, wrapped around her delicate body. “You smell nice,” he whispered lazily. Her eyes flickered open with a low hum. From the stunning glow in the scarlet eyes, one could tell she was still immersed in the afterglow of sex.“I always smell nice.” The deep rumble from his chest made her look up. The laughter of her lover always found a way to make her heart tingle. “You have always been so cocky, my Queen and I must confess it suits you,” he flicked her nose. The Vampire Queen giggled, adjusting the sheets to hide her body. Lenhandro held down the sheets. He loved the way her pale flawless

XenraThis is insane! How can this be happening to me? I begged her to let me be reborn to take my revenge. Shouldn't she have gotten the hint that I wanted to be reborn as a vampire Queen, not whatever the hell this was?Apparently, the woman thought this was funny. She made a cruel joke out of my situation!Releasing a sigh, I accepted my fate based on compulsion. I asked for a second chance at life and I got one. The best thing to do was utilize it.Returning my gaze to the mirror, a set of scarlet orbs stared back at me. Although strange, it was somehow relieving she let me retain my terrifying eye colour. It would traumatize me if I wind up with those random blue eyes. Squishing the chubby cheeks for mental approval, a grin broke out of my face. It felt so warm. So alive. I touched my chest and just as I suspected, I heard the gentle beats of the human heart. Unlike my cold, silent, heart.“What can I say? Thank you, Moon Goddess,” I winked charmingly, secretly hoping my goo

  • Mysterious Mate    Chapter 3

XenraI rubbed my feet against each other, struggling to get the stupid chains off but it seemed I was only entertaining the crowd. I tried reaching for it but it only wore me out. Sweating in between ragged breaths, I gave up trying. My body was weak and begging for relief. So I hung there, helplessly as my captors approached me with grinning faces. The greed in their eyes warned me that I had a lot coming my way if they successfully captured me. “Quite lively for an omega, aren't you?” One of the slavers snorted, reaching for my face. My expression went stoic as my eyes darkened ruthlessly. I tilted my head, sinking my teeth into his hands before fisting him in the balls and shoving him. He hit the ground, groaning in pain as the others burst into laughter. "Quite a feisty one I must admit. She has a fire and quite a temper. This might just be our best one yet,” another chuckled, stepping from behind. I tried to spin around. Give him a piece of my mind but something pierced i

  • Mysterious Mate    Chapter 4

XenraIt seemed like the effect of the drug was fading so I was awfully aware of everything going on around me. In detail this time. Asher's once shimmering grey eyes were ice cold now, sweeping through each slaver with an intensity that made them shiver. It seemed most of them recognized him. This ruthless werewolf leader made even the mighty crumble before him. Whether it was the powerful aura he exuded or the strength built in those muscles, whichever it was it compelled a submission that required more than willpower to resist.Considering how many times he had me begging, squirming in his bed.I couldn't help but wonder if he still hated me now. Our relationship didn't exactly end on good terms. Did he still think of me?The slavers began to slowly retreat in panic. They knew what this man was capable of and how many packs he reduced to dust. “We don't mean trouble, Alpha. We are only chasing a runaway slave,” as if to back their claim, they raised my hand to reveal that slave

  • Mysterious Mate    Chapter 5

XenraOn hearing the words, the slavers seemed to have gone through five rounds of death. The wolves continued to enclose them, flashing their fangs and threatening movements, further intensifying their fear. In less than a second, they pounced and the silent night was disturbed with screams and pleas. The traders tried to fight back, a few of them transforming into their weak werewolf forms. If I thought I had seen humiliation, this was the worst. Before the elite wolves, they looked like cubs. Small and inferior. It made the killing process easier. As the weaker wolves attacked, the bigger wolves curved strategically, sinking their fangs into their necks. One snap and they all went limp. All except the squirming slave master. Who looked like he was on the verge of passing out. “P…Please….” Asher's cold gaze made him hold his breath, afraid the wolves would kill him if he even breathed wrong. “I don't intend to kill you. I need your help,” Asher said slowly. I looked at him in

  • Mysterious Mate    Chapter 6

Xenra "You want to kill yourself with that bag of nonsense?" Asher's low growl shattered the momentary silence that had accompanied the thick darkness surrounding us. Huh! Did he just call me a bag of nonsense? I was still trying to process Asher's words when I felt the arms of my saviour give way. My eyes bulged, and before I could get myself to say no or tug onto his arms, my body met the ground with a loud thud, sending dust flying in the air like a heavy bag would. My eyes screwed shut, and I coughed, choking from the smell of dust that flew into my mouth and nostrils from that collision. A loud throaty chuckle covered my coughing sound; they all seemed entertained. The sound of which made my blood boil. 'This is the height of it; I can't take it anymore. How dare they do this to me, a vampire queen?!' My fists balled, and my eyes flew open as I tried to spring myself up like I had always done, but I could only move my clenched fists and tight muscles. 'Damn! Curse this sac

He bared his teeth, unmistakable wishes in his eyes as he glared at me, but all he could do was curse. The sight of him struggling to hold onto life made me chuckle, the sound of which echoed the mockery and contentment in my heart.Lenhandro's eyes fluttered as he tried to stay awake, but then, even he seemed to have realised he wouldn't be able to stop what was coming. As it dawned on him that he couldn't do anything to stop his inevitable demise, he growled again, "You bastard!" XenraMy lips spread into a small smile as I snapped out of the thoughts that had kept me busy. "Really?" I asked him. "You want us to join hands together?"My words were wrapped with surprise as I spoke, staring at him in a feigned excitement."Of course, my love," Lenhandro swiftly replied, determination ringing in his tone."We can join hands together, and you'd see just how we can take over the world. The world is large enough for both of us to rule." He added, conviction echoing in his voice as he gestured. He halted in his tracks, and I saw him swallow hard. "Look, Xenra, I'm not ready to fight with you; I would never do that again," he said. "I'm ready to go with your terms."His furrowed brows were supposed to convey his sincerity, but I could see right through him, and I knew it was a mask over his evil ambition. As if he hadn't said enough, he continued, "I'm really sorry about what happened; believe me, I really regretted it," he said, "I've really missed you so much, my lo

  • Mysterious Mate    Chapter 228

XenraMy steps were heavy with determination as I rushed through the hallway with just one intent in mind—to get to Lenhandro. The hallway was packed with maids and male servants, who were hastily running in all directions, speaking for safety, while Leo's and Lenhandro's soldiers chased them, slashing them with their swords.Cries of anguish and fear echoed in the whole of the palace, but the soldiers didn't spare them.Inside the hall, Asher's soldiers were already fighting against the invaders, clashing against them, and they tried to secure their home.Seeing the maids and the old servants being slaughtered greatly enraged me, and I marched towards them.Since Lenhandro's soldiers had come from the main entrance, I knew if I could break through the approaching guards, I'd get to the bastard who betrayed me.As I brooded over my wrath, a soldier fell beside me, and his spear slipped from his grasp. Without waiting for another second, I swiftly picked it up, and with that same inten

  • Mysterious Mate    Chapter 227

Asher"Quickly, let's go," Xenra said to the guard that supported my other arm, and they both led me into the secret passage. As we walked through it, I kept hearing the loud wails and screams of my people, conveying their agony and distress. The sound of metal clashing against another filled the air and made my heart ache. That was the cry of my innocent citizen, and the fact that I had to hide to save my life broke my heart. As we walked through the dimly lit passage, my heart kept bleeding as their voices filled the whole space.Deep within me, I knew I had to do something; I knew I shouldn't be the coward who abandoned his people and flew to safety while his people were being sacrificed in their home.Filled with that determination, I halted in my tracks, refusing to be led farther away from my people, who were sacrificing their lives for our clan.Xenra's head whipped towards me, but before she could say a word about it, I swiftly began to speak:"This whole thing will lead to ev

  • Mysterious Mate    Chapter 226

Xenra"No," I shook desperately as I stared at him, "I can't leave you." My words tumbled out in a determined rush.Seeing him getting weaker and weaker was already a painful sight, but what I couldn't bear to do was to leave him alone just as he had requested."What is wrong with you?!" Asher said, more like a statement than a question. "I'm asking you to leave now. Do you want Lenhandro to kill you again and have the last laugh?""He's your worst enemy, and we both know you'd forever be uneasy if you don't have your revenge against him tonight," Asher added, his voice firm and resolute.Asher's breath finally stabilised, but then I knew it wasn't something to rejoice over, since that was the nature of the poison. My clan's mate had always referred to it as "the poisonous deceit."I knew it was the last gathering of strength that would last for just twelve hours after the person had been injected, before his eventual demise."As you can see, I'm getting better and can take care of my

AsherI could feel my spirit gradually leaving my body as I lay there. The whole of me felt heavy; I was tired of struggling, and my vision began to blur.Vaguely, I heard Lena hiss and saw her walk away from the room. The victorious smile I saw on her face jabbed at my heart even as it dawned on me that I wouldn't be able to save my people and defend what I had always held dear.My mind began to reel with countless thoughts, a chaotic mix of thoughts that made my mind run wild as I sought a solution. But no matter how much I tried, I just couldn't get my mind to focus. The intense pain I was feeling inside wouldn't allow me to focus on a possible solution, and I began to wonder if that was how I would die.My chest was tightening within me, and my breath grew short. Gradually, I began to gasp for breath.Outside my room, I could hear the footsteps of soldiers running towards the entrance. I could also hear the heavy thuds of soldiers on the marbled floor outside the mansion as they r
