Ivy watched from her side eye as Adrian stood his ground, saying no to the beautiful girl even though he was clearly hurting, and it made her wonder about what really went wrong.

Adrian felt he was slowly suffocating from Heather’s constant pleas. She had no remorse in her eyes, only the look of someone who wanted to have her way, despite whatever.

“Do you even like me?…” Adrian forced himself to ask.

Heather’s hand went to the back of her head, gently rearranging her hair.

“Hey, who cares? We make a good looking couple.” She said, shooting Adrian a wry smile.

“I care… I don’t want to make a good looking couple, I want to be with someone who likes me romantically.” Adrian shot back.

“eiiish, come on! Don’t be archaic. No one cares about those things now…”

Adrian nodded emphatically, he was really beginning to see Heather and the kind of relationship she wanted to build.

When his eyes returned to her, he noticed quite a distorted expression on her face, one mixed with surprise and anxi

There’s absolutely no reason for people to apologize for things they can’t control, or that was what Adrian thought. He couldn’t control his emotions falling apart before Ivy, and he couldn’t also blame her for calling him kind. Being called kind wasn’t the same as being called easy, but it felt the same to him.“And what’s with the compliment?!” Adrian wondered. She said he made a good cappuccino and today she said he was nice. Sadly, Ivy’s genuine words had been poisoned by Heather’s assumptions, and even though her sincerity was written all over her, Adrian struggled to lay down his guards and just accept her words for what they were. The informal interview between them had turned sour in a matter of minutes and Ivy had no idea how to resolve it.“Can I take a minute? I need to relieve myself…” he finally spoke, after a few minutes of awkward silence. As he rose up to the restroom, Ivy released her breath and sighed in relief.Gina’s words resounded in her head as her despair fl

I already feel terrible enough.” “I’m sorry…” Ivy apologized again, feeling awful.“Now there are too many sorry’s and I don’t know which one to take…” Adrian teased, smiling at his own joke.Ivy let out a soft chuckle that expressed her relief. She looked around and there was almost nobody at the cafe.Adrian followed her gaze, and realizing the same, he said,“I told you… Sundays are half days…” “But we can’t close, just yet.” Ivy protested.“Are you saying that because you don’t want to go home, Miss Evans?” Ivy’s heart danced at the exotic and effortless way he pronounced her name. A faint blush tinted her face and she buried her face in her palms, trying to hide her embarrassment.“I told you too much…” she squeaked.

Alex was gone. She stood aside for a moment, studying his features, watching his expression change from calm to upset.A message tone beeped on his phone and he cringed at it, tossing the phone aside. He raised his eyes and their gazes locked.“I didn’t want to disturb you…” Ivy said, in a voice almost as low as a whisper.“It’s okay..” Adrian said, drifting his gaze back to the phone.Ivy observed his expression quietly and smiled, a knot clenching her chest at the thought of him being pestered by someone who hurt him bad,“Girl problems?” She asked, unable to control the emotions that were increasingly becoming apparent.“Not really” Adrian replied, glancing at her.Her piercing blue eyes seemed to glow even brighter today, accentuated by the simple magenta gown she wore, contrasting her red head and creating a captivating allure to her eyes- or at least, that was how he felt as

The next morning in the large mansion at White Avenue was quite a whirlwind.“Can’t you stay for a bit? Avery shook her head playfully, and gestures to her husband too.“I guess it’s just us from now on...”“I know so..” Fredrick replied.“Invite us to the wedding, if you please” he added.Alex nodded agreeably,“That definitely, you won’t miss.”Turning to Adrian, he laid his free hand on his s

Fredrick woke up to the sound screeching chairs and creaking doors piercing loudly into his hearing. He groaned miserably and snuggled into his sheets, unable to bring himself to witness Avery’s departure, especially after his charade last night, he had regretted announcing their divorce and end of contract at the table. He had breached their contract and if Avery wanted, she could take him to court and sue him for damages- after all, the contract was to be done and resolved confidentially, in order to protect each other from prying ears.He shuddered unbelievably as last night replayed in his mind,“Why did I do that?!” “Alex hates me, I’m sure of it” he thought aloud.Suddenly, a thunderous bang sounded on his door, jolting up from the bed instantly. The thudding persisted urgently, without as much as a pause,“Don’t break down the door, I’m coming!” He thundered, hurrying towards the door. Panic surged through her as she held her breath, silently praying the unknown person away. The knocking persisted, this time, a bit louder than before. With trembling hands, Ivy advanced to the door, her voice quivering with anxiety as she muttered,“Please, whoever you are, go away!”“Ivy!” Adrian replied,A rush if emotions coursed through her as she he

I’m worried, even Alex is drinking.”“I… don’t know…” Avery stuttered, her voice trembling with inexplicable emotions. She was the one leaving him, but she was the one crying, she couldn’t understand herself.“Are you okay, Avery? Surprisingly, as if they understood his command, they gradually quietened.“How did you do that?!” Avery gasped in relief as she re-entered the room. “They’ve been so troublesome today.” She added.Noah turned to face her, a wide grin played on his face, beaming proudly,“Of course, they’ll listen to their uncle.
