“Did you lie about his father being abusive?” Alex asked, his professional voice cracking out.

“Defamation- that’s what it is called. Putting a false accusation on someone.”

“He wasn’t abusive, his family just didn’t like me. Then I suddenly realized I was pregnant and we were not even married.” Lovelyn confessed, this time her voice was firm and unapologetic. She bore no sentiments.

Noah nodded, feeling completely relieved about the real reason for her actions.

“Now I can live with myself…” he said.

“When you told me that my father was abusive, I felt terrible about it. Thinking ah, it wasn’t her fault. It was better to stay alive than to be beaten to pulp for my sake. But then Fredrick asked, “why didn’t you ever come back for me and it woke my doubts.”

The next morning was cold as usual, of course, it was winter but Adrian would not stop sighing. He had a caught a cold from sitting in the garden with Aunt Margaret, who was by the way, still mourning Alex. “And she is not pregnant either, why is she so emotional?!” Adrian groaned, thinking about the day he was about to have again.Fredrick had exchanged him in place of Avery for Margaret. Every day would begin with a knock on the door and a slump on the bed, he was tired every day, too tired to remember anything. Today, he had decided that he would lock his door, and stay in no matter what. He needed his sleep. His phone was silenced too.He writhed under the sheets, snuggling in to the warmth he generated from staying in one spot for too long. Not particularly asleep, just dreaming…“If we ever break up, will Heather this sad about me?

Avery shook her head playfully, and gestures to her husband too.“I guess it’s just us from now on...”“I know so..” Fredrick replied.“Invite us to the wedding, if you please” he added.Alex nodded agreeably,“That definitely, you won’t miss.”Turning to Adrian, he laid his free hand on his s
