Evelyn's POV.
As he glided through the hall, his chiseled features and piercing green eyes commanded attention. His sharp jawline, prominent cheekbones, and full lips crafted a masterpiece of masculine beauty.
His tailored suit accentuated his broad shoulders and a lean physique, exuding confidence and power. Raven-black hair framed his face, perfectly styled.
Yet, an icy demeanor tempered his captivating appearance. His eyes seemed to hold a thousand secrets, none of which he'd share.
“My goodness, this is my first time seeing him in person. I knew he would be more charming than the rumor claimed.” Someone said in a daze.
Despite the frosty exterior, women's eyes widened as he passed. Whispered sighs and stifled gasps filled the air. Heads turned, mesmerized by his majesty.
A subtle smile played on his lips when he turned to his mother, but his eyes remained frozen, unreadable. He was a statue of perfection, unattainable and unyielding.
As he walked, the room parted like a sea, people swaying to clear his path. His presence was a force of nature, awe-inspiring and intimidating.
“Are you in love already?” The lady in black dress whispered to me. I spared her a glance and she winked. “I told you that you'll fall in love immediately you see him for yourself,” she repeated.
I moved my gaze back to the enigmatic stranger, the Alpha King. He looked just like Dylan with the same facial features, yet his face was void of any emotion. This had to be a misunderstanding. Dylan had no wealth, and he was no one with power or status. I never got any impression that he was someone of great power when I was with him.
He was always quiet, calm, and gentle even in bed. He never acted against me, and although we never had any real conversations, he had always been flirtatious and eager to please, almost debauched.
However, the man who just walked in was nothing like the man I knew. He was aloof, cold, and distant. His presence commands respect and for all my life I have never seen anyone with this much power.
Perhaps I was hallucinating, and there was only one way to find out. I reached for my phone as slowly as I could, and scrolled through the number, looking for a specific number that could explain what was currently happening.
I froze in place and the air on the back of my neck raised as goosebumps crept to my arms. Instinctively, I lifted my head only to see a pair of gunmetal eyes staring back at me.
My breath caught in my throat and my heart skipped a beat as I met the Alpha King's gaze, and it felt like time has slowed down, leaving just the both of us caught in a trance.
I placed the phone on my ear and waited for the line to connect while keeping my gaze locked on the man in front of me. I scrutinized my gaze, hoping to get a reaction, but I got nothing as his face remained blank.
“Thank the Moon Goddess,” I sighed, feeling a sense of relief washed over me as I attempted to end the call but the line suddenly connected.
My face turned pale, and my stomach lured as the Alpha King gently placed the phone on his ear and the words from the other end of the phone made me jerk back in utter fear.
“Speak!” That word alone made my throat dry and my eyes widened in horror. Without hesitation, I ended the call, my hand shaking in trepidation.
How could this be possible?
Fear gripped my heart and I closed my eyes to fight the nauseous feeling, but memories of that night came rushing back instead. I remembered everything vividly.
Seth has announced his relationship with Veronica that night and their betrayal. He left with Veronica to another country. I had been hurt to the extent that it became hard to breathe.
My best friend–Adeline had convinced me to go to a nightclub and I carved the distraction. I wanted every means to forget everything that happened to me, and before I could realize it, we had drunk too much and Adeline had ordered for male models.
And Dylan had been among them and I had spent a night with him. I only intended to spend the night with him but the moment I woke up to see how good-looking he was, I had decided to keep him and that was my biggest mistake.
Moving him into one of my villas, giving him a monthly allowance of 100,000. His response had been straightforward and ever since then I'd visited him whenever I felt like it, and we’d always end up in bed.
We never asked each other too many questions or felt curious to know more about the other person. Our unspoken agreement was just to enjoy each other. But now, it turned out to be the most reckless thing that I had ever done.
Keeping him and having those nights with him…
I had been planning to end the illicit relationship when I realized that I had already fallen into his trap all along.
How could I be so impulsive? Keeping a man I knew nothing about for three years and discovering that he was the Alpha King? The world was really working against me in every way possible.
Tearing my gaze away, I made my way to the bar, brushing through the crowd to get as far away from him as possible.
“Whiskey,” I ordered, and the bartender nodded in response. My hands clenched in frustration as I tried to calm my racing heart but all to no avail. What would this change?
Recalling our last conversation on the phone and seeing him now, I could tell that things were going to be more difficult than it was.
“Here's your order,” the bartender slid the drink towards me on the counter and I wasted no time in gulping it.

Seth's POV
“My love, I'll come to you tonight, but I just need to finish up something,” I pressed a finger to my temple as exhaustion tugged on my eyelids.
I was already getting drained and not to forget that I had got a cold last night. “I told you that my father wanted me to do something for him. There's a lot to do and my absence in the Pack for three years is a lot. I still need to catch up on some things. But don't worry, I'll get you your favorite chocolate cake before coming over tonight,” I added when the silence stretched from the other end.
The call had been going on for minutes now, and I still had to return to the hall to meet the Alpha King.
Few more minutes and I ended the call before returning to the hall. I quickly spotted Evelyn at a corner and I made my way towards her, but suddenly the room became quiet, almost as if someone had muted the sounds.
Footsteps ensued, and the sound echoed in the silence. Everyone turned to the entrance and I followed instinctively.
A tall man, well-built and dressed in expensive clothes matched in and tension hung in the air. As I drew closer, my eyes widened in disbelief. There was only one word to describe my situation and that was 'Doom'.
I could still remember him clearly. The man who had been my professor in the heir course and also the reason I was yet to graduate. My face burned in shame as I recalled how he humiliated me in public during his class, calling my abilities mild and best suited for an omega.
He was the bane of my existence and ever since that class, I had been ostracized and ridiculed because of him. My hatred for him was rooted deep, and I cursed the day I bow to him. Nevertheless, the universe just had to curse me by making him the Alpha King. Securing the project is rop priority and If the only way to get the project is to ask Evelyn for help, then so be it.
Heaving a sigh, I looked back at Evelyn, but she was no longer at the corner. Where was she?
My eyes darted around the hall until I found her seated quietly at the bar. She looked vulnerable and lost in thoughts.
“Something wrong?” I asked when close enough. She gradually lifted her head to look at me.
“I'm heartbroken and upset,” she replied with a shrug, yet her eyes swirled with emotions.
Rubbing the nape, I cleared my throat while contemplating for a while. She reached for another drink again, but I instantly placed my hand on the glass to stop her.
“Can…” I started, almost stuttering. "Could you go talk to the Alpha King for me later?”
Evelyn's POVI narrowed my eyes as I tried to read his body language and get exactly what he was thinking. “You're supposed to meet him yourself,” I pointed out as I reached for my drink, but he tightened his grip around it.I arched a brow while his lips twitched. “I know that already. I'm just asking you to meet with him and discuss the project with him. Besides that's why we came?” He replied, looking impatient as he hissed at me.Leaning back against the seat, he tucked a strand of hair behind my ears. “Alpha Raymond already emphasized that you're to meet with him and get his approval,” I looked at him curiously. What was he thinking? Was he going to back down already?“I know what I'm doing. Just meet with him and discuss the project with him. I believe you can handle that,” he pushed the drink towards me. “Just speak with him so we can leave here early,” he said.Eyeing him, I took the drink and gulped the whole content before standing up. I just had to meet him and discuss the
Evelyn's POVSeth struggled to stand on his feet, but he almost dropped to the floor if I hadn't held him still. He cursed underneath his breath while I put an arm around his shoulder. “Should we start going?” I said loud enough for everyone to hear.I had no intention of staying even a second longer here. Especially with the eyes that were focused on me. “Watch your steps,” I growled at him when he kept losing his balance.“I'm trying!” He snapped at me, his face red.“You and your husband really have a good relationship, but don’t forget that you still owe me something.” the Alpha King's voice made me halt to look at him. His hands were crossed over his chest and a sarcastic smile played on his lips.“I understand that I owe…" I trailed off looking around and finding all eyes on me. They were patiently waiting for me to say something, I could see it in their eyes, the excitement to hear the side of the story and know what exactly I owe him. However, I was equally confused. What exac
Evelyn's POvMy hands froze, grasping the edges of my dress as I stood half-clothed, my cheeks ablaze with mortification. His sudden entrance had caught me off guard. The chiseled features, piercing eyes, and strong jawline belonged to none other than the Alpha King"Your Grace," I stammered, "I-I didn't know this was your room."His gaze swept across me, taking in the disheveled dress, the wine stain, and my exposed skin."Your sister brought me here," I explained hastily. "She said it was an empty room where I could change."His expression remained impassive, his silence unnerving. My discomfort grew as his eyes lingered on me, the tension between us thickening like a physical presence. His gaze rose to meet mine, but his eyes betrayed no emotion."Dylan," I called, his deep voice low and shaky, shattering the silence. My cheeks burned brighter as he stepped closer. I thought I had saved his number with a random name but perhaps he had mentioned his name before during our encounter.
Evelyn's POVI sat in my room, lost in deep thought. The events of the evening swirled in my mind like a vortex, refusing to let me go. Seth's abandonment still stung; his priority clear: Veronica. The pain was no longer a surprise, but the ache remained.I managed to find my way back home after Seth ditched me but that didn't stop me from cursing at him or change whatever happened at the estate.Dylan's words filled my head, confusing me even more. "Leave him... Come to me..." The memory of his passionate gaze and whispered promises sent shivers down my spine. Why did his words resonate so deeply? Was it the longing for escape from my loveless marriage, or something more?My gaze wandered, settling on a photo of me and Seth. We were smiling, but the happiness was deceptive. Our relationship had been a facade for far too long. I thought I drifted to Dylan, and the passionate nights we had shared. The kiss and the burning pleasure that we had no control of... Was it just a rebellion ag
Evelyn's POVAs I walked past the reception desk, the whispers ceased, but the receptionists' curious glances lingered. Their eyes darted between me and the door leading to Dylan's office.“He changed his mind about letting her in,” one receptionist whispered.“Must be something going on between them,” another speculated.I ignored the whispers, my focus fixed on the impending meeting.I had more pressing concerns than office gossip. The receptionists exchanged knowing glances, their whispers resuming. “How did she even get his number?” one asked. “Must be more to her than meets the eye,” another replied. Their speculation lingered in the air as I stepped into the elevator, leaving the gossip behind. The doors opened on Dylan's floor, and I was greeted by his secretary. Warm and welcoming, she smiled.“Evelyn, dear, make yourself at home. The Alpha’s expecting you.” My eyes narrowed slightly. Her familiarity seemed excessive.Did she know more about my relationship with Dylan? I pushe
Evelyn's POVI watched his face morphed into surprise as his eyes searched mine for answers. “I have agreed to move into your villa, but you also have to meet your end of the bargain. With that said, I think you should give Jupiter Pack a fair chance,” I said, crossing my hands over my chest while he stood up slowly from the seat. His hand went into his pocket and he pulled out his phone. “Contact the Jupiter Pack for them to bring the relevant project materials for review immediately,” he said briefly before ending the call while I stared at him in silence and soon a smile crept its way to my lips.He put the phone back in his pocket before turning to look at me again. I managed to hide the smile as I reached for my bag on the couch before turning to leave. His voice came the moment I reached for the doorknob.“Don't forget to move tonight,” he demanded, but I rolled my eyes at him, fortunately he didn't see me as my back faced him. I opened the door without saying a word and walked
Evelyn's POVI could barely believe it. My eyes widened in utter surprise as I stared at the person who just entered the room. Was it a nightmare or a hallucination? She was actually here, dressed in professional attire. A plain knee-length pencil skirt that stopped below her knee and long sleeve blazer, paired with flat black shoes. Her dressing screamed professional, but I knew better than to believe it. Why was she here? When did she apply for the job?My head was filled with unanswered questions as I observed the smile on her face grew the moment she noticed me; I couldn't help but scoff.“It's nice to meet all of you. I didn't know I'd get this warm welcome,” she said, shaking the hands of my colleagues while having an innocent and warm smile on her face. She had on a warm, innocent and composed aura. She could fool anyone, but she couldn't fool me.“Oh please, we were thrilled to have you here. If there's anything at all that you've need, or perhaps having issues settling in, yo
Evelyn's POv"You can't threaten me with such baseless accusations. You claim you saw me but there's no proof to back that up," she said with her chin high but I could see it in her eyes that she was struggling to keep her composure. I knew just one more push and she might collapse to her knees, begging me to keep his wife from finding out.I gave her a toothy-smile that made her eyes dilate as she looked around wry. "I have his wife's number, perhaps you both can find evidence to support my claim but I doubt that she would care about proof," I said, tucking my hair behind my ear while giving her a bored look."I... I didn't mean it like that," she rushed out, looking around nervously."I think I understand what you mean," I drawled.Tension hung thick in the air and everyone stayed mute."This must all be a misunderstanding. I’m more than willing to let Evelyn have the prime-time anchor position." Veronica's voice broke the long silence as she stepped in.I pressed my lips into a thi
Evelyn's POV As I walked into Dylan's office building at noon, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and nervousness. I had come to invite him to dinner at Luna Janet's house, and I was eager to see him again. As I entered the building, I was immediately struck by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff seemed to recognize me, and they greeted me with friendly smiles and nods.As I made my way to Dylan's office, my heart began to beat faster with anticipation. I couldn't wait to see him, to feel his warm smile and his gentle touch. When I finally reached his office, I pushed open the door and stepped inside.Dylan looked up from his desk, a look of delight spreading across his face as he saw me. He jumped up from his chair and strode over to me, a warm smile on his face. As he reached me, he leaned in and placed a gentle kiss on my forehead.I felt like my heart was going to explode. The touch of his lips on my skin sent shivers down my spine, and I felt like I was melt
Evelyn's POV As Luna Janet's warm smile still lingered on her face, she began to speak again, her voice filled with excitement and pride. "I also have some wonderful news to share with you, Evelyn," she said, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. "The Jupiter Pack has secured the development project for the new territory."I felt a surge of surprise and delight at this news, and Luna Janet's face lit up with a pleased smile. "I must say, I'm convinced that it was your influence that led Dylan to choose the Jupiter Pack in the end," she said, her voice filled with admiration.I felt a blush rise to my cheeks at this compliment, and Luna Janet's eyes crinkled at the corners as she smiled. "Please, do thank Dylan on my behalf," she said, her voice warm with gratitude. "And I would be delighted to invite him to dinner at our home. Would you please extend the invitation to him?"I nodded eagerly, feeling a sense of excitement and pleasure at the prospect of Dylan visiting the Jupiter Pack's
Evelyn's POV The station director rushed over, a look of excitement on his face, I felt a sense of confusion wash over me. What was he going to say? And he introduced Luna Janet to everyone.“Ladies and gentlemen,” the station director began, his voice booming across the room. “I would like to introduce you to Luna Janet, the Luna of the Jupiter Pack.”The crowd exchanged confused looks, their eyes darting back and forth between Luna Janet, Veronica, and me. I could almost see the wheels turning in their minds as they tried to figure out the relationship between the three of us.But before anyone could ask any questions, Luna Janet stepped forward, a commanding presence that seemed to fill the entire room. Her eyes flashed with a fierce inner light as she began to speak.“I am Evelyn's mother-in-law,” she announced, her voice clear and authoritative. “And Veronica here is a mistress who has been interfering in Evelyn's marriage.”The room seemed to erupt into chaos as Luna Janet's wo
Evelyn's POV My feet moved faster as I stepped into the TV station, I was immediately enveloped in a flurry of activity. My colleagues swarmed around me, their faces alight with excitement and curiosity. I could feel their eyes upon me, boring into my skin as they whispered and gossiped among themselves.I wasn't surprised, of course. I had expected something like this to happen. The television and news had been abuzz with the story of the Alpha King's new girlfriend — namely, me. I had been the center of attention for what felt like an eternity, and I knew that my colleagues would be eager to get the scoop on the latest developments. As I made my way through the crowded room, I could hear snippets of conversation drifting through the air. “Did you hear that Alpha Dylan declared her his girlfriend in public?” someone whispered. “I know, I saw it on the news,” another colleague replied. “I wonder what it's like to be the Alpha King's girlfriend,” a third person mused.I felt my face g
Evelyn's POV I wrapped myself in Dylan's arms, I couldn't deny the way my heart skipped a beat whenever he was near. It was as if my very existence was tied to his, my heart beating in tandem with his, my breath catching in my throat whenever he looked at me.I felt like I was drowning in his eyes, like I was being pulled under by a riptide of emotions. I wanted to give in to him, to let him sweep me up in his arms and carry me away on a tide of passion and desire. But I was scared, so scared, of what it would mean. What if I let him in, only to have him break my heart again? The thought sent a shiver down my spine, a cold dread that seeped into my bones. I had been hurt before, hurt so badly that I thought I would never recover. And now, here I was, standing on the precipice of another potential heartbreak. My mind was a jumble of conflicting emotions, my heart torn between the desire to surrender to Dylan's charms and the fear of getting hurt again. I felt like I was trapped in a n
Evelyn's POV A playful glint in my eye, as I teased Dylan about his earlier declaration. “You've already announced to the entire world that I'm your girlfriend,” I said, my voice light and airy. “I'm sure tomorrow's newspapers will be filled with reports about it. 'Alpha King Declares Love for Mysterious Woman' — I can already see the headlines.”I laughed, as I imagined the reaction of my coworkers tomorrow. “This day has been quite eventful, hasn't it?” I said, my eyes sparkling with amusement. “I'm sure I'll have to hear about it at work tomorrow. 'So, Evelyn, how's your new boyfriend, the Alpha King?'”But Dylan remained silent, his eyes fixed on mine with an intensity that made my heart skip a beat. He didn't smile, didn't laugh, didn't even react to my teasing. He just looked at me, his gaze burning with a fierce inner light that seemed to see right through me.I felt a shiver run down my spine as I met his gaze, my heart pounding in my chest. What was he thinking? What was goi
Evelyn's POV The final notes of the music faded away, the hall erupted into a thunderous applause, the sound waves crashing against me like a tidal wave. I felt like I was floating on air, my feet barely touching the ground as Dylan led me to the stage. The spotlight's glare enveloped us, making me feel like a star, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder and awe.“Good evening everyone, I'd like to offer each one of you a lifetime VIP membership in this prestigious restaurant,” he said.Dylan's voice boomed through the microphone, his words echoing off the walls as he declared that every single person present would receive a lifetime VIP membership at the famous Restaurant. The crowd went wild, their cheers, and applause reaching a fever pitch as they surged forward, their faces alight with excitement.I could barely believe my ears. I looked at Dylan in utter disbelief, my eyes wide with shock and amazement. He simply smiled at me, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he nod
Seth's POVI rushed back to the restaurant, the cool night air whipped through my hair, sending my thoughts into a frenzied whirlwind. Memories of Evelyn flooded my mind, and I couldn't help but wonder if she'd be at the restaurant, celebrating Stella's birthday. The thought of seeing her again, of making things right between us, drove me forward, my feet pounding the pavement in a frantic bid to reach her.Everything that had happened between Evelyn and me - the fights, the misunderstandings, the ultimate betrayal - it had all been because of Veronica's meddling. Her lies, her manipulation, her deceit. I felt a wave of anger wash over me, directed not just at Veronica, but at myself. How could I have been so blind? So stupid? I'd believed Veronica's lies, hook, line, and sinker. I'd cheated on Evelyn, the woman I loved, with her best friend. The shame and guilt threatened to consume me, but I pushed them aside, focusing instead on the anger I felt towards Veronica. As I pushed throug
Seth's POV As I gazed into Veronica's eyes, I saw a fervent intensity that only served to heighten my doubt. Her words, laced with conviction, insisted that the divorce papers were indeed from Evelyn. But I knew better. The trust I had once placed in Veronica now lay in tatters, shattered by the weight of her deception. My mind reeled as I thought back to the diary Veronica had shown me, the one where Evelyn had allegedly written about hating me. I was almost certain now that it was a fabrication, a clever ruse designed to manipulate me. The realization was like a punch to the gut, leaving me breathless and confused. Was this her plan to set us apart? Never did I ever imagine that she'd be capable of something like that. How was I so blind not to see the truth? However, now that I'd finally found out the truth I didn't know how to react and what to think. I was both confused and speechless, wondering if she'd ever been this way. I twisted with fear and pain, worried that I might not
