In detention

    She was inside. It was dimly lit but it was dark and cold, so she could tell. She wasn't sure how many hours had passed. There was no clock anywhere to judge from and she couldn't hear anything other than her own heartbeat and her harsh panting.

    

    At some point she'd moved. It was difficult for her to tell how much. 

    

    Everything felt sluggish and off. Her muscles weren't responding the way they should, and every movement sent jolts of pain shooting through her body.

    

    Still, she couldn't move. Even if she could, she wouldn't leave her position. It was safer if she remained where she was. If someone found her here, she could easily disappear. And she would need their assistance to escape.
