Bitter truth

The basement door opened. The two of them stepped inside and locked it behind them.

It took a few seconds for their eyes to adjust to the gloom and darkness in the basement. Once their eyesight adjusted, they were greeted by the sight of Emily chained up, sitting on a metal table.

Gerald pulled a seat next to her and sat in front of her. He glanced around the room and motioned to Eric.

“Have two chairs brought in. We need to start working right away. This place is not suitable for conversation.”

The men complied and left the room. Eric slammed the door behind him and locked it.

The werewolves began speaking in low whispers.

“I still don't understand why we're doing this,” Eric began.

“Because it makes sense,” Gerald replied curtly.

“So why are we torturing her?”

“To make her talk. She's the only one who knows how to handle the Blood Book. And we need her to relay information to us.”
