Isn't your fault

Drew

Sitting across from me is my father, Alpha Dominic. "So, Felicity is your mate; I heard that from your mother," he said. I nodded in response, feeling a sense of regret about the situation.

Years ago, when she bit me, I realized something was off when the wound didn’t heal. After visiting the native pack, I discovered that Felicity had marked me.

The happiness I felt was overwhelming; I had genuine feelings for her back then, before everything changed. The reason I distanced myself from her, stemming from an incident a decade ago, continues to haunt me. No matter how hard I try, I can't shake the guilt that washes over me whenever I see her, knowing the consequences of my actions.

My father understands why I’ve kept my distance from Felicity, which is evident in his expression. "When are you going to tell her?" he asked, concern evident in his voice. I sighed, reluctant to share the truth. I fear she would despise me, and I wouldn’t be able to bear it, especially since we are both marked by each other. "After the mating ceremony, when she is completely mine," I replied. My father cleared his throat before continuing, "You know that after that, nothing can separate you two except death. Your mother mentioned it was the bite of infinity, but that doesn’t mean your mate won’t resent you if she finds out."

My father is known for his straightforwardness; he never sugarcoats his words. However, his honesty does not change the reality of our situation. Despite the bond we share, it won't prevent her from harboring resentment towards me. He continues, "Drew, you understand that what happened isn't your fault, right?" I wish he would stop reiterating that point because deep down, I believe it is my fault. If I had been more careful, Felicity's life would be different; she wouldn't be feeling this loneliness. I empathize with her pain, and it weighs heavily on me. Do I even deserve her as my mate? The moon goddess seems unkind, yet I feel I am even harsher because my love for her is so profound that I cannot let her go. She is my mate and my everything, and even if she despises me, I will endure it, as long as she remains by my side.

I have made up my mind. "I understand your insinuations, Father, but the truth is that if I hadn't acted as I did, things would have turned out differently. Therefore, I accept the blame. I will speak to her after the mating ceremony, and whatever follows, I will embrace it fully. It is my duty as the future alpha of the Crimson Pack and her mate." My father nodded in agreement. "It will be as you wish, Drew. I hope she doesn't resent you when she learns the truth. Remember, it’s not your fault, my son."

Felicity

Why hasn’t he returned yet? I clutched my pillow tightly as I waited for him. I had lunch alone in this room, following Drew's instructions to stay inside, but honestly, I was feeling quite bored. I tried to close my eyes, thinking that perhaps sleeping would be the best option. Just then, the door swung open, and Drew walked in. I quickly sat up in bed upon seeing him. He approached and sat down beside me. "Well, that took a while. I thought you might have left me," I said, pouting, which made him laugh. "Our mating ceremony is scheduled for the next two full moons," he informed me, meaning it was just eight days away. Jane seemed to like the idea, but isn’t it a bit too soon?

"I wonder where we left off," he said playfully. Instinctively, I pulled back, feeling the heat from his intense gaze. My body was responding to him. "I thought you mentioned it would be after the mating ceremony?" I reminded him, but he crawled closer on the bed, took my hand, and positioned himself over me. This was the second time today, and I felt a rush of desire. "There are other things we can explore besides the obvious, Felicity," he said, and my eyes widened in anticipation of his intentions. Whatever he had in mind, I knew I would enjoy it, so I urged him, "Stop talking and take action." That was all the encouragement he needed; he captured my lips, and I kissed him back with fervor.

His hand slipped beneath my blouse, teasing my bra as I wrapped my legs around his waist. The pressure of his groin pressed against my already eager folds, and I moaned into his kiss as he returned to my neck, the spot he had previously bitten. A cry escaped my lips—was this what people meant when they said that a mate's mark could be incredibly stimulating when kissed or licked? Because at that moment, I felt like I was on cloud nine.He left my neck and moved up to my ear, nibbling gently before whispering my name. Normally, it sounded mundane, but when he said it sweetly, it took on a whole new allure. "You seem to be taking your time, Drew. I don't think I like it soft," I teased. He looked at me, surprised. During that encounter, I let out a soft moan as his length brushed against me, penetrating my thighs, teasingly gliding through my opening. He moved rhythmically, and I found pleasure in the sensation, even though he hadn’t fully entered me. Just as I was lost in the moment, he reached his climax or so I thought, his breath heavy as he leaned in to whisper, "Don't tempt me, Felicity, or I might lose control and take you before our mating ceremony." I couldn't help but chuckle; I have a fondness for such bold threats. An hour has passed since our intimate encounter. After we cleaned up, I had the chance to admire his strong physique. I still find it hard to believe that Drew is my mate. Just yesterday, I never imagined I would be sharing a bath with him today. This guy is undeniably straightforward. Arnold raised both hands in a gesture of surrender, insisting, "It's not what you think; I was just curious about your mate, that's all." • My nemesis turns out to be my mate    Deep seated grudge

I freshened up and headed straight to Arnold's room, my mind racing. Sleep had eluded me all night, haunted by the thought of that jerk telling Felicity he had feelings for her. What was he trying to achieve? Was it some twisted game to get under my skin? If that was his goal, he certainly succeeded. As I stood there, lost in my thoughts, Abigail appeared, her voice breaking through my frustration. "What are you doing here so early, Drew?" I turned to her, irritation bubbling beneath the surface. "Where's your brother?" I asked, trying to keep my tone even. "My brother? He's with the alpha. Seriously, Drew, these past couple of days have changed you," she replied, concern etched on her face. Abigail had always harbored feelings for me, a fact I was painfully aware of. She confessed her crush the first time I shifted at fourteen, but I had to turn her down, knowing I was already committed to someone else. That moment seemed to spark her obsession, leading her to tell everyone we wer

Looks like I’d be donning the pants he lent me yesterday once more.Emerging from the room, I padded into the kitchen, my stomach growling in protest. "Felicity, are you skipping class today?" Patricia called out, her voice bright. I approached her as she handed me a plate piled high with fresh toast, beans, and eggs, accompanied by a steaming cup of cocoa. "No classes for me today; they start tomorrow. Thanks for checking in, Patricia." A thought struck me. However, they all wore the same serene smile, which left her confused. She couldn’t comprehend their expressions; they had been taken from her, and she felt desperate for them to take her along. Instead, they were offering her their final farewell. Suddenly, she caught a familiar scent in the air, one that enveloped her senses. This wasn’t the moment to be distracted by a fragrance. As she opened her eyes, she realized the room was completely dark. "Is this a dungeon?" she wondered, but then a voice broke the silence, saying, "Oh dear, this is not a dungeon. Are you implying my room isn’t suitable? I can’t complain, though, since it’s not really mine." She sat up, straining to see the source of the voice. Closing her eyes and reopening them didn’t change her surroundings; she was still enveloped in darkness. Was this some

The spell worked almost instantly, primarily because they had not enjoyed a proper night's rest since their abduction. They looked frail and disheveled, having endured experiences that even adults struggle to comprehend, and they would carry the scars of their trauma for a long time.I sincerely hope that Lagartha faces severe consequences for the suffering she has inflicted on these young ones.
