Even though I tried not to make much noise, I was still noticed. My father could pick up my scent anywhere as long as I was 20 metres away from him it could be considered as very close except he just wasn't paying much attention.
He turned his gaze towards me as though he wasn't expecting me to be back early. The diversion of his attention made mom and the rest notice me also. It was a little awkward since I wasn't familiar with the visitors who seemed to be in a serious discussion that I couldn't even guess the topic.
Good afternoon my Lord and my queen, I greeted with my head down while trying to squat a little, not being sure if I had greeted politely. No one could see royalty and not spot it. The elegant animal skin they wore and the slippers they put on also was enough to convince anyone.
The king smiled, good afternoon pretty one. Please come closer. He streatched his arm towards me and my mom motioned for me to go to him. I didn't know why but I didn't want to go to him and for the first time I didn't trust my mother and the reason wasn't clear.
I moved to him and he held me by my arm giving me a long stare as though he was examining a new bride. I didn't know what to think but the only question ringing in my head was " why the attitude". He examined me for few more seconds before letting out a sigh of relief and satisfaction. "My father didn't make a mistake when he made this agreement with your father, he said, smiling and directing his words to my dad. She's perfect and will fit for a queen. We the royal house will make preparations and get back to you."
He turned to leave but while approaching the door he stopped and looked at me with a smile and then turning his attention to my dad "she looks rather confuse, explain to her before we come for her. I don't want no issues". He turned and left together with his wife the queen who is our Luna and it felt strange why she had been silent through out her arrival.
Jane watched them as they shut the door and left. She heaved a sigh of relief before turning her angry and puzzled face towards her parents expecting them to talk even before she starts asking the questions. They stared at each other for close to 30 seconds. The more the time counts with silence the more angry she gets.
"Are you guys seriously going to keep quiet right now and act like you don't know I need answers? What is it with all the king just do, examining me like I'm one of his cocubines and saying I'll make a good bride? He seemed to have come just for me and moreover what was it that he was referring to when he said you should explain to me?.
"Jane relax and sit down. I'll explain everything you need to know right now. I've held it from you for so long thinking that the royal house would forget but it seems they didnt. So please sit."
My dad never speaks to me in such appologetic manner but to my mom only. I felt fear in my bones and emotions of betrayal as I sat down quietly waiting to take in all my dad has to say. I knew it wasn't going to be good so I only hoped that my thoughts were wrong.
"Jane please listen to me and don't get angry at me. It is part of my fault because I failed to let you know earlier but it isn't entirely my fault because I wasn't the one who made the agreement."
He paused as he saw that Jane was a little bit calm as she was eager to hear the story. He moved to a sit closer to Jane's sit and sat down.
Jane, believe me, I was very young then. My father, your grandfather was the one who signed an agreement with the previous king who happens to be king Leonard's father.
"My father had always envied royalty but it was obvious that he couldn't get there since he was not of royal blood." Jane turned and looked at her father with uneasiness as her thoughts were being confirmed. Her future had been tampered with even before she was born.
"Okay I get that there was an agreement signed concerning me before I was born but what is it about?" The question she asked wasn't much relevant as she could guess through the answer with everything happening but what she wasn't sure of was how it came to be.
My dear, Mr Jack cleared his throat and continued; it's a marriage agreement. I wish I was in a position to decline but I had no say when my father is involved. Actually the king who was a prince then was ill and my father had the cure but before he agreed to heal the prince, he made the king sign the marriage agreement that once there is any need for marriage in the royal house it should be among our both families.
The king had just one child, a male. And the same with my dad, I am his only child and so we couldn't get married but now the agreement transferred to you and prince George, the king's son. In this way royalty can finally flow in my family as my father has always wanted.
So this is all about being royalty, Jane lashed out in anger. She felt disgusted at the reason even though every other girl would jump at the offer of marrying the prince but that has never been her plan.
"Don't you dare raise your voice at me, Mr Jack fired back. I am your father and even though you are a fearless warrior which I always praise you for you are still my daughter and a female. And if I wanted to be considered as a greedy man I won't seek your opinion for anything!" His eyes were filled with anger but he couldn't keep it that way seeing that Jane was hurt by what he said he quickly changed his attitude and became soft.
I'm sorry Jane, I didn't mean to I'm sorry I let my anger control me, moving forward towards her.
"Don't touch me! Jane stood up and left for her room without saying any more words. Anger boiled in her heart and the sound of her banging the door could be heard.
Jane, Jane, sugar common! Jane's dad called out but got no response.
"Let her be, Mrs Rose, Jane's mom said as she walked into the sitting room with a glass of juice for her husband." She will come around but for now you need rest. You've tried already. Don't worry I'll talk to her later." She dropped the glass of juice and left, heading for the kitchen.
Mr Jack didn't say anything, he just picked the juice up and drank it all without hesitation.
Jane's POVJane layed on her bed facing the ceiling in confusion and smiling weakly at her self. "What did I ever do wrong to deserve this? And here I was thinking that my life was perfect not knowing that i have been sold to an unknown buyer, a prince. And I am expected to be happy. I thought I was free least did I expect that my fate had been decided all this while. I don't even know how to feel and here I was thinking that i would go out, fall in love and have a mate, someone the goddess would direct to me but no I already have a husband all for royalty!" "Hey, no need to panic. What if the Alpha prince is our mate? Stop being judgemental okay. Anytime Elsa speaks to me even with a friendly tone, I still get scared. Maybe it's because I was still trying to get used to it.Lost in thoughts and anger that clouded her entire feelings, she slept off.......Meanwhile at the palace George laid on his bed as a knock came through.Knock! Knock!,Open! He responded. The door opened and a
In a twinkle of an eye, a week had gone by and Jane had been invited to visit the palace for a dinner. She wore a blue fitting dress that fit so well with her light fair skin and a tiny diamond necklace which matched with her curly black hairs. Though her hair wasn't entirely black, some parts were white at the sides which was common among all wolves in her pack but the pattern may be different. She was led to the palace by her father and they chatted on the way. The palace had a very big gate protecting it. Jane stood in front of the magnificent gate lost in thoughts. "Jane?, This is where I leave you. Please don't ruin it by doing anything rash. He patted her shoulder and left her. Jane watched her father leave untill he was out of sight. She turned towards the gate and gave a loud knock. The guards already knew that they were expecting a guest. He opened the gate immediately after seeing a beautiful lady whom he knew instantly was the prince's new mate. She was ushered in b
None of them said a word anymore as they ate their meal in total silence. Jane on the other hand couldn't wait for it to be all over. The environment was choking her and everything around her seems to be awkward. She paid deaf ears towards Elsa who was persistent in disturbing her. "Jane, Jane, Jane? Ooh c'mon. Stop trying to block me out. He is our mate. I know what you're thinking but it's hurting me. He's not rejecting us so you don't have to despise him the way you do right now". Jane ignored ignored her. She was becoming irritated by Elsa's weakness with the whole situation. "Jane? Are you even listening to me. Seriously? Like are we doing this now. You know it Jane, you know it. The pain of rejection. You are aware of it. Jane still kept mute and didn't bother to reply her. She had a mind of her own also but she never said she was rejecting him. All she did was try to avoid eye contact while she eats. "Arrrrrgh!! Elsa growled. "Forget it". She withdrew herself further
Jane slammed the door of his car in the coolest way ever without the slightest care in the world. She made to leave but turned back as though she forgot something. "You should know that I'm not a weakling." Having said those hurting words, she turned and walked majestically into her house. It was evident from her words that she just mocked his situation."FU*K!!" George yelled, hitting the front passenger seat in anger. Nothing in the world he despised more than being rediculed and referred to as weak.He really did appear weak when alone but when with his father, the Alpha king, he had the whole pack at his Mercy even though he barely knows how to throw a good punch. He was that weak but no one knew about it not even Jane. She could only sense him sick. He couldn't train at all not even as a child. His body won't heal. All his body works perfectly but he was still weak. The only information revealed to them was that a great part of his life was missing and untill he is found, he can'
My ears stood on hearing that the message had come from Jessica. Her name alone was able to calm my anger down."What did she say?'"Her words were sad. She was here earlier but because we knew that it was not a good idea to let her in, we had to create excuses so she won't get angry. She said I should tell you that she doesn't know what she had done wrong to you for you to have shut her out. And if you don't want her anymore, she would peacefully leave instead of you hurting her."I bowed my head as soon as he finished speaking.George was sad and his anger doubled. "Get out!!' he growled.Jeremy didn't waste any time. He sped off immediately."Arrgh," George growled. He pushed his door open and went into his room. With anger, he picked up the lamp in his room."Smash!! He threw it to the ground. "What did I ever do huh?" He was angry. Next were the books on his table. He flinged them all. "Nobody Fucking cares!'With everything he destroyed, a cruel word accompanied it. He didn't st
Jane woke up early the next morning, did her chores and got ready for the day's training. She got up quite early and finished all her chores on time so she didn't have to worry about going late to training. For some reason unknown, she was rather happy and in a bright mood. No memories of what happened the previous day disturbed her. * At the training ground.. * Jane mixed up with her close friends while waiting for the training to commence. They chatted while getting their spears and swords ready. They didn't really need weapons. Their wolves were their weapons. Training with weapons are just to defend themselves from humans since the humans are not yet exposed to their kind. "Hey Jane!,' Grace called out. "there's this cute guy named Jaden. He trains with us here but he schools among the humans." "Yeah, Jaden, I know him. So what about him? Jane asked wearing no specific expression and her tone sounding like she wasn't interested in the topic but she did wonder why that guy
She stared at Jaden wondering if it was all a mistake as the scent seems to be following him, fading away with every step he made. "Could it be ..., Arr no. How can it possibly be. You can only get one mate. Even a twin is regarded as one." Jane thought to herself as the issue continued to disturb her. As soon as Jaden was out of sight, the training continued. The atmosphere throughout the training session was choking. Everyone was careful not to anger the already angry general Mike. Jaden silently walked back into the woods. He was angry. "Jaden?... Larry tried to speak to Jaden. "Don't even dare. You caused this. If not for you disturbing me just because of that vanilla scent, I wouldn't have been embarrassed like that." He replied angrily. "Hey common, you didn't even find the owner of that scent. Why didn't you. You should have." Larry said. "What!!! Seriously now?' Jaden was highly irritated. How selfish could you be? "Hey come of that, you should be used to it by now. "
"You know, I wonder what it is that you are looking for." Jaden spoke. He stood behind her watching her as she turned her gaze towards him.Jane wasn't scared at all. She guessed right. It was Jaden."Huh, finally. What took you so long. I thought you wouldn't stop." Jane said."Hmm, let's say I enjoyed watching you search for me. I must say, for a wolf like you, you shouldn't have taken so much time to locate me even though I was jumping like the monkeys. Pft, what am I saying. You didn't catch me. I came out on my own." Jaden said. He was trying to play cool with her. He was rather an amateur in it. His life has always been boring and really not interesting."Seriously!? You were having enough fun right. Thanks to you I'm far from home.""Woah woah woah, blame it on your curiosity not me." Jaden replied."Same way you got into trouble right ? I wonder why."Yeah yeah, I'll blame that on curiosity too and on you." He replied."On me? You can't be serious now. How was I even part of y
