Lexi's pov

His body weight and the rough bark of the tree were causing me issues and I eyed him pleadingly.

“If you are quiet I will remove my hand and weight,” he growled. Nodding I inhaled deeply once his hand fell away.

“Why are you here? Where's your mom?”

Holding his head and looking agitated Nathan raised his index finger towards me and sighed.

“I took off when she went into the gas station to prepay for gas. I can't go back there again,” he stressed painfully.

Seeing him face me I gasped at the bloody scratches across his face.

Reaching out to check on them he hissed and backed away. My arm fell to my side as I frowned.

“My mother was unhappy,” he muttered.

“Let me go back to the house and get some antibiotic cream for you, they look bad and might scar,” I expressed my concern.

Shaking his head he told me that his wolf would heal them.

“Plus I don't want anyone else to know that I am here,” he snapped.
