Lucas POV

Lucas looked outside the window of his hospital bed. He gazed at the landscape, wondering about his life that had taken a drastic change in the last few days.

“Lucas!” Racheal called out, walking towards him. “The doctor said we can leave now.”

“Sure. I hope there is no media press outside. I don't want anyone asking me any questions or capturing my face on camera.” Lucas said, walking out of the room.

“None at all. I made sure the coast is clear. I will have Chloe help Maria to the car.”

Lucas sighed as he heard his mother mention Maria.

“How is she now?” Lucas asked as they walked out of the hospital building.

“She's fine. Getting better already. But then, something bothers me.” Racheal said, her voice laced with a mixture of concern and worry.

“What's that?” Lucas came to a halt, staring at her.

“Where are we going to start from? How are we going to tell Maria everything? She deserves to know the truth…”

“We'll talk about that when we get home, mother.”
