Scarlet's POV

Why do I still feel hurt that he is protecting Maria. He had always protected her even when we were married.

“Scarl…”, Lyssa called out to her, jolting her out of her imagination. “You look disturbed, what's wrong? Aren't you happy you won the case?” Lyssa asked, peering at her face.

Scarlet rubbed her forehead and let out a heavy sigh. “Ofcourse, Lyssa, I am happy. I am just tired.”

“This calls for a celebration. Did you see the look on Lucas' face, oh my goodness! He looked so pitiable. I am sure he's gonna have a big fight with his so-called mistress.”

Will he really fight and blame Maria this time?

Scarlet was deep in thoughts. “I doubt he will do that. Lucas had always let go of whatever Maria did wrong. There's no point actually. I mean, I'm just glad the truth is out.”
