CLAIRE I was just about to close my laptop for the day when an email popped into my inbox. My first reaction was to ignore it because I wasn't expecting any important mail. But a part of me, one that felt like I should see what was going on, insisted that I open the mail. Before I could talk myself out of it, I did just that. I was shocked when I saw that the mail was from my stepmother, Becky. I closed the app, not willing to read any form of negativity with how bad I was already feeling. Almost immediately after I closed the mail app, I opened it again and began to read the content. If it was all curses and abuses as usual, I would use that as leverage to justify all the anger that was mounting up within me for no reason.*Dear Claire. How are you? How have you been doing? Your father let me know that you came by the house the other day. Why didn't you stop by my room and say hello? Never mind how harsh your father acted towards you. You should know by now that the man is always li
ALEXAKIS The light from the window burned into my eyes, making me toss around to save my face from being scorched. A knock sounded at the door, irritating me just from hearing it. I placed a pillow over my head to prevent the sleep from penetrating my ears, but no such luck."Who the fuck is that?!" I yelled at the annoying person. I was cranky, even though I identified that fact, but there was nothing I could do about it.All the events that went down with me the previous day weighed in on me after I dropped onto my bed to rest. No matter how much I tried to get the odd behavior of Claire and Luna Lisa out of my head, the hurt I felt from being hurt by the two of them wouldn't leave me. In the end, I had to resort to drinking all by myself to get the thoughts away. The drink worked because I fell asleep after taking about three bottles.Worst decision I had made in a while, seeing as my head kept banging, along with the knocks that were still going on at the other side of the door.
ALEXAKIS To be sure that I didn't read the wrong things from the file, I went through it again. Everything in there kept returning to me in solid solidness, affirming to me that whatever it was that I read before was right and I was not the one with the wild imagination. Nathaniel? If it was just the case of getting some of the Elders behind my back to try and get them to instigate the others against supporting me, I would have seen nothing wrong in that. After all, life was a competition that only the force could survive. If the man wanted to win the Alpha seat playing dirty games, I was all for it. Even if he was meeting all the Elders, I still wouldn't blink an eye at the act.But killing people everywhere he went? That was the one thing that wrought a frown from me. True, I might not know the younger man much and we might not have communicated once ever since I got to the pack, but I didn't feel like he was such a person that was capable of trying to brutally murder anyone. He
ALEXAKIS I was almost dozing off when a knock sounded on my door. I hissed as I opened my eyes due to the annoying sound. What was it with people and always banging on my doors each time I tried to take a rest? The knock came again and I knew that whosoever was at the door was not ready to let go of the insistent knock. I grumbled and got up from the bed to open the door. I saw Luna Lisa standing there, her brows furrowed into a frown."I was just beginning to think that you didn't want to open the door because you somehow found out I was the one knocking." She said. After she said her harsh words the previous day, I didn't bother to reflect on them for long because I didn't want the hurt I knew I was sure to get from it to sip deep into me. I had ignored the turmoil of emotions that hit me all at once because I didn't want to hate the woman. But as she stood in front of me now, I knew that there was no way I had the anger controlled within me. No, it just came back, or should I say
Nathaniel/Scott's POV It's been a few days since I got into action. A few days since I wreaked the havoc that should boldly have my name written on it.Oops, sorry. I meant the name of the man I was currently residing in.At first, when I first occupied the body of the man, I thought that he was nothing but a weakling. However, two days after I took over his body and began to turn some of the Elders and the pack members against his brother, the man began to revolt against me. Why it was so was something I couldn't comprehend.Shouldn't he be overjoyed to see someone caring for him and trying to push up his aim of being the Alpha? But, no, the man wasn't in any way pleased. If anything, he began to find a way to separate himself from me. It got so worst that the pack members had begun to suspect that the man was not himself. Thus, every time they saw me, they always turned and ran off in the opposite direction.I didn't let that discourage me as I felt that he was only trying to find
Evie's POV When the phone rang for the tenth time with no response from Nathaniel yet again, I knew for certain that the man had decided in his heart that he was going to be ignoring me. How was I supposed to let go of something like that? After the man had already raised my hope and I thought that I was almost at the end of my struggle with the way I was dissatisfied with everything that was going on and everyone around me?Not even when I knew that I had done more than placed my hopes on him. I had gone beyond that. I was rude to Father because I felt that the breakthrough I so seek would be mine to get the moment I was able to get in touch with the Nathaniel guy. Only I couldn't find him anywhere. Not at the den where someone first gave me information about him, not at the bar where we first met, and not catching him on the phone either."I'm doomed!" I sobbed. There was no way that Father would forgive me for all the hurtful things I said to him, especially when I was not his bio
Nathaniel/Scott's POV Humans would make you lose your temper. I hissed as I saw my drink and the glass cup all shattered on the floor from when I threw them away after Evie decided that the next best item she could do was frustrate my life until I lost my temper. And lost, I did it. I didn't regret the decision that I made to curb her arrogance at all. Even when I was pretending to be in love with the girl, I had always done nothing but wanted to strangle her and put her in her place. That spoiled brat!I looked around the empty place and decided that I was bored enough already and didn't care to stay alone for my drinking spree anymore. It would be better if I just went to the bar, and mingled with people, while I still looked for some unsuspecting victims to suck their souls off their bodies to strengthen my powers. I went out of the house and made my way down the lonely path that I loved to take just in case I saw any unfortunate person who decided to take the route when I did.I
ALEXAKIS *Hi, this is your favorite P.I. I am currently on a mission. Please drop your message in my voicemail, and I'll solve the mystery once I am available.*I clicked the end call button before I would be redirected to the voicemail box. That was the sixth time I was calling the private investigator to ask him about the daily update that we passed to each other, but I just kept getting redirected to the voicemail each time I called. When I called the first two times and I got the same message, I dropped a message for the man asking him to get in touch as soon as he was free. After an hour of not hearing from the man as I thought that I would, I called again. Since then, it had been the same response over and over again."What the fucking hell is going on?" I muttered under my breath."What is going on where?" I heard Luna Lisa's voice ask from the doorway. I sighed as I saw the woman coming in and I berated myself gently for not realizing that she had even opened the door to the
