Bluemoon Bar.

Horace grabbed the beer bottle from Alain's hand, concern evident on his face. "You've already had too many bottles. You can’t drink any more. Even if you’re not drunk, it’s going to catch up with you eventually."

"Give it to me," Alain growled, his eyes glowing with a fierce intensity.

"No!" Horace held the bottle close to his chest, refusing to give it up. "Your toxin isn’t completely gone yet. Even though Eden said you could drink, you can’t drink like this."

The mention of Eden made Alain freeze. He slumped back onto the sofa in silence.

Horace sighed, unsure what to say. Since morning, Alain and he had been waiting outside the hospital, hoping for a glimpse of Eden. But she hadn’t shown up, even as night fell.

Alain had called Caelus, but Eden refused to let him in, so he didn’t know what was happening inside the ward. Caelus had relayed that information to Alain, and after that, they ended up at the bar.
