He was starting to believe in the time-travelling theory. Maybe it was easier to ask Laura about it instead of trying to search for something from the internet. Finding Laura on the internet was akin to finding a needle in a haystack. If he didn't have more information, he would simply be wasting time running in the wrong directions.
