Amaya
Today was the day that I was finally getting discharged. Even if I didn't spend much time here, I was still super excited about leaving. I hated the vibe hospitals brought. Knowing that plenty of dead people were probably laying in the exact same bed as I made me uneasy.
If it weren't for my attack the other night, my parents and I would've already left yesterday.
My head was hurting me less but my memory hasn't come back yet. At this point, I've lost all hope of remembering again. It took too much energy from me to do so. Yesterday I couldn't sleep at all and now I'm exhausted.
My encounter with my kidnapper still lurks in my mind. He hasn't visited me since and I find myself wanting to see him again as weird as that sounds. I just wanted more answers to my questions.
Leaving the hospital might've been the best feeling I've had. As soon as the doors opened, I took a sniff of the fresh air that I've missed. The sent in the hospital was funky and musty so I was in need of some fresh air. It felt so relieving to finally get out of that hell hole.
My parents helped me climb into the car. When we drove away from the care center, my dad informed me that we were going straight home. They've already passed at Aunt Omnira's house to get our stuff this morning.
The drive was quiet and peaceful. I spent most of my time looking at the view outside and taking small naps. At some point, we stopped to buy some food but I wasn't that hungry so I just bought a drink.
When we arrive at home. I locked myself in my room not in the mood to be active. I sat on my bed and continued my story that I restarted again. I hope this idea goes better than my previous ones. These days I seemed not to have much inspiration in me for some reason.
***
It was after nine o'clock and I was pretty sure that my parents were already sleeping. I had just gotten out of the shower and changed my clothes when the doorbell rang.
Who could that be at this hour?
I slowly went down the steps not trying to wake up my parents. I opened the front door and saw who was there.
"Destiny? Why are you here at this time," I questioned while rubbing my tired eyes.
"Well, I just came to check on you. I heard about your accident. You alright?"
"Yeah, my head just hurts."
"Get some rest then."
"You're the one bothering me right now."
"Fair enough, I'm glad you're doing alright. Goodnight!" With that, she left and I went straight to sleep.
***
The next morning I woke up with my headache almost gone. I was supposed to go to work today but I got some time off because of my incident.
I decided to take a trip to the mall by myself. I just wanted to get out of the house and enjoy some time alone.
I brushed my teeth and washed before grabbing my keys and heading out. The mall was only about fifteen minutes away from my house. It contained more than two hundred stores in it so it was a big shopping center.
When I arrived there it was quite easy to find parking since it was still early in the morning. I parked and headed to Victoria's Secret first as I was in need of underwear.
***
I bought a few things like new clothes shoes and food. I even went to the book store to get myself a new book to read.
Overall my day was fun even though I spent it alone. When I told Destiny that I went to the shopping center without her she actually got mad and complained about why I didn't invite her. I had to make it up to her by promising another night out to the club.
As I was walking towards the exit, I felt myself bump into someone making me stumble back and fall on my bottom. I let out a small groan and started to pick up the bags that I dropped when a pair of hands came to my help.
"I'm deeply sorry miss," the guy said while helping me grab my bags.
"It's no worries but thanks." I smiled at him and he smiled back.
"My name is Ryan by the way." He held his hand out for a shake.
"Amaya," I replied while taking a hold of his hand. His hand almost completely covered mine.
"Well, it was nice meeting you, Amaya."
"You too." We sent each other one last smile and parted ways.
On my way back home I kept thinking about how sexy the guy was. I could've continued the conversation and get his number. Jeez, I just missed a perfect opportunity.
Once at home, I locked myself in my room again. I was making great progress in my book and my ideas for it are finally seeing light.
As nighttime came closer and sleepiness was getting unbearable, I prepared myself to go to bed.
I made myself comfy in my bed and closed my lights. However, as soon as my eyelids closed, the face of my kidnapper appeared making me jump awake and become face to face with him himself.
My stalker.
I stared at him wide-eyed while trying to catch my breath from the fright. He was just leaning against my armoire with his arms crossed and a neutral expression while watching me intensively.
"Why do you keep showing up at random moments like this? How did you even intrude yourself in my house?" I asked. His green eyes just looked at me, studying me.
"Oh, so you're not scared of me anymore?" He asked while raising an eyebrow.
"Should I be scared?" We stayed silent again for a while before he gently walked up to my bed.
"As I said, no."
"So why do you keep popping up out of nowhere?" I questioned. He suddenly brought two of his fingers under my chin making me tilt my head upwards.
"Do you trust me?" He asked, his eyes burning holes through me.
"Is this my kidnapper speaking?" I replied. He let out a small chuckle with a smirk.
Damn, that was extremely sexy.
He held his out for me to grab and pulled me out of my bed. He led me all the way out of the house and walked towards a small forest located behind my neighborhood.
"Where are you taking me?" I questioned.
"Just follow and you'll see." For some reason, I listened to him and kept my silence.
We walked deep into the forest until we couldn't even see the neighborhood anymore. When he stopped walking he stood with his back facing me staring at the night sky.
"So, what did you want to show me?" I didn't hear any reply.
After some time, I began hearing small growls getting louder each passing second. I noticed the way his nails grew longer and sharper. The way his body seemed to gain an impressive amount of muscles and grow in size.
I began backing up a little out of worry.
What was happening?
"Supernaturals are real and they've existed even before humans came on this earth."
No, impossible. This couldn't be.
"H-hey, are you okay?" I tried getting through him. Trying to reassure me that this wasn't what I thought it was.
It was only when he slowly turned around to face me that I got the biggest heart-stopping moment of my life.
~~~ Amaya His eyes no longer had those pretty green tint in them. They were now a bright glowing red colour. His teeth now contained a pair of sharp fangs ready to bite through your skin anytime. He wasn't just my kidnapper anymore. Nor my stalker. He was now my vampire. This realization hit me like a train. My feet were glued to one place not daring to move. My breathing had stopped a while ago. The beast in front of me must've caught on to my nervousness because a small pang of hurt shot across his face but quickly vanished. I knew I should be terrified. I knew I should be running in the opposite direction. I knew I should be screaming for dear life. So why couldn't I? I couldn't bring myself to be scared of this creature. I might've been shocked but I'm not frightened for some reason. It was as if deep down, I already knew who he truly was. "Listen, you might be scared shitless right
~~~ Amaya "Among the supernaturals, there are different types. Vampires, werewolves, shapeshifters, witches, angels, demons and, elements. They all have different characteristics and abilities." Who would've thought that we had such creatures living among us? "The one who attacked you was a shapeshifter. They are known to be able to imitate any living form. They can change and impersonate any living being on this planet. They can be very dangerous. You might be having a normal conversation with your mom one day but it could be a shapeshifter and you wouldn't even know." As he spoke to me, a little piece of my memory from that night came back. I remember walking into the store and greeting the cash
AmayaMy sleep had been interrupted by the sound of my phone ringing. Lazily grabbing it, the caller ID showed that Giselle my editor was calling. I groaned but still answered."Do you know what time it is?" I groaned out."What do you mean? It's one in the afternoon," she stated. I took a quick glance at the clock laid on my nightstand. It was indeed one in the afternoon. Shit, I must've overslept."Yeah sorry. So why did you call?""About that, there's been a change of plans. Instead of three months, you'll have to hand in your work in two.""Oh okay that's not a problem," I replied even though this would make me have to speed up my writing pace."Perfect, I'll see you soon then." We said our quick goodbyes and hang up.I slowly lifted my legs out of the bed while yawning. I suddenly remembered the events of last night and took a quick glance towards my couch. He wasn't there anymore.Must've gotten tired of my snoring and left during the night.I felt my stomach growl and decided to
Amaya My shift was almost over. Thank God. Today was uneventful except for when this old lady screamed at me because I told her that she was owing to the library a book she lost. She made a big deal out of it when it wasn't even my fault. As I was placing books on the shelf, I felt a gentle tap on my shoulder making me divert my attention to this person. It was a man who seemed familiar but I couldn't quite remember where I'd met him. "Hey, could you tell me where-" he stopped mid-sentence when I turned my head towards him. His lips formed a small smile upon seeing me. "It's you again." I couldn't seem to remember where I'd met this person before. As if sensing my confusion, he introduced himself.
AmayaHe stood in all of his glory in front of me, frowning down at me while I tried to regain my composure. I had a feeling that he wouldn't quite appreciate that I thought he was here to hurt me. On the other note, why is he here and how did he know where I was located?"H-hey," I said when I faced him."Why are you so nervous?" he asked me. I somehow didn't want to admit the truth out of embarrassment of my paranoia."W-what, me nervous? That's ridiculous." Okay, I could've made my lie a little more believable than that because he sure didn't buy that at all."You thought I was another shapeshifter huh," he stated making me cautiously nod.
Amaya All week long Damon forced me to do training after my shifts at the library. He would always either sit down on a log and observe me or do circles around me. He would always tell me to close my eyes and believe. Believe what? I seriously didn't understand where he was trying to come from. I haven't really seen him apart from my supposed to be training either. He would drop me off at my house and leave. I had a good feeling that he would most likely stay near me in order to keep watch of potential danger while I was sleeping. How boring his life should be, or should I say after-life. It was now Saturday and I took the day off today because I didn't feel like doing a shift. Also because I have my date with Ryan today. We've agreed that he would pick me up around seven o'clock tonight. It was now almost noon and I still didn't know what to wear. I haven't gone out on a date for so long that all of the dresses I had for nice occasio
Amaya I had finished getting dressed and was now patiently waiting for Ryan to come. I told my mom that I was going out with Destiny so she could let me leave. I also called Destiny to tell her to cover for me if ever my mom decided to call her. Damon hasn't come back to bother me and I was glad. He was so annoying sometimes I just couldn't deal with him. As I was scrolling through my feed, I noticed a spark of light flash through my window. I went to check what it was and I saw a car parking on our driveway meaning Ryan had finally arrived. I quickly grabbed my purse and ran downstairs to open the door for him. When he rang the doorbell, I waited at least ten seconds to make sure he didn't get the impression that I was waiting for him at the door. "Hi." I greeted him with a smile. "Hey." I saw his eyes quickly roam through my body making me a little more nervous. "You look beautiful," he complimented. If I were white, I would
Amaya The whole ride back I couldn't help but think about what I saw regardless of Damon's instructions not to worry about it. I was constantly on edge keeping a look out the window scared that the shapeshifter or whatever it was would jump on the car and attack us. Fortunately, none of that happened even though I was sure that Damon was still keeping an eye on us. Sometimes I wondered where he situated himself in order to guard me. He for sure wasn't inside the car nor on top so where was he. That remained a mystery for a while. Ryan soon pulled up to my house. Before leaving his car I turned towards him and offered him a smile. "I had fun tonight," I said. "I hope you did. Are you still interested in going on another date with me?" he cutely asked. I was slowly getting more and more comfortable around this guy every day. He seemed like a very genuine guy the kind who doesn't bring any problems with them. That's exactly what I needed
Amaya "Damon I don't think this is a good idea," I said with uncertainty laced within my voice while sitting on the foot of my bed. Damon was packing my bags for me getting ready for our unexpected trip to Miami where this person was supposed to help bring my powers. When Damon had announced this at the restaurant I thought this was some sick joke. I had to leave Destiny in the middle of our dinner together. I mean who plans a spontaneous trip to another country like that? "Listen, Maya, we're in even more danger every second we lose. We can't wait anymore. The supernatural know about you and they're already out for the sacred book. You need to get your powers to protect it or else you're going to die," he answered obviously getting frustrated that I wasn't getting his point. I understood but why couldn't we just continue our training sessions? "Our flight is scheduled for 7 pm tonight we don't have much time." My parents weren't at home. If I leave now I wouldn't have the chance to
Amaya Today I was going out to dinner with Destiny. We haven't seen each other for a while and it would be good to take my mind off things. I haven't seen Damon since yesterday night and I wasn't eager to. He managed to hurt my feelings a little bit and I wasn't proud. I was letting him in too many times. Not to mention that there was something going on between me and Ryan. I was starting to like him sincerely and wanted to see where it would lead us to. I hoped in my car and entered the address of the restaurant in my GPS. While I was driving, I received a call from Ryan. He asked me if I was free next Saturday to go on another date. I hadn't planned anything that day so I happily accepted. I soon arrived at the restaurant that Destiny picked out. It was a fancy one located in the heart of downtown. Destiny had texted me earlier that she was already there so I found her seated in a booth at the far back of the room. "Hey girl," I said seating myself. Destiny was very attractive. H
Damon I settled myself comfortably on the branches of the tree with a clear view of Maya's room. She was still in the same position that I left her in. With her perfect black curls spread out and her legs dangling out of the bed. Don't get me wrong, Amaya was a very attractive human being but I shouldn't have gotten that intimate with her. Those soft lips were so addicting though. One taste and I couldn't get enough. I almost wasn't able to stop myself but I knew I had to for her own sake. Vampires can see other people's emotions but they cannot feel them. We are naturally emotionless creatures that don't feel things. That's why vampires are one of the most dangerous creatures you could meet because they're completely merciless. The only emotion they're able to feel is lust. I have a few that I can feel specifically because I'm cursed to be the protector but others couldn't. For example the hurt I was able to feel when Maya assumed I was the
