Naomi

The dawn came and I could barely keep my eyes open after practicing so many spells. Cal had kept an obvious distance between us since I rejected him. Part of me wanted to explain, but there wasn’t time we needed to stop Odette and the others. I just hoped Ataz hadn’t told them I was alive. I could feel Cal’s gaze skitter over my skin when he thought I wasn’t looking. I knew he wanted me … part of me wanted him, too.
