Elena's hands shook violently, making the chain that forced her arms backwards jingle annoyingly. James grinned.
"Glad you understand how things work, girl."
She tries not to spit in the billionaire's face, pursing her lips before glaring at them once more.
"What do you want me to do?" Elena asks, trying to control the tremor in her voice.
James approaches her, and Evan puts away his pocketknife. The tension in the room is palpable.
The two men look at each other once more, as if they are having a mental conversation. Finally, the conclusion comes. They would be straightforward in their proposal.
James's response comes in a low, calculated tone:
"We have enemies, people who want to bring us down. We need someone like you, with your journalistic skills and your determination, to help protect us and make sure our secrets stay buried."
"So you want me to be a spy?"
The man with honey-blond hair clarifies:
"Spies are expensive and skilled. I highly doubt you can unlock a door with a pin, or handle a gun. What we want is for you to tell them exactly what everyone inside your dirty little newspaper knows."
"You will do to them exactly what you tried to do here. And for you to see how willing we are to have that information, we'll even provide fake news for you to take to your paper. You know, so that you gain more credibility."
Elena's lips are dry as she tries to argue:
"But... If you give me fake news, I will become popular because of lies. That's the biggest affront you can do to a journalist."
"That's not our problem, dear," says James. "And after all, wasn't it you who told us you'd do whatever we wanted?"
"Yes, but-"
"No 'but', dear. It's your life that's being negotiated here."
The girl's eyes fill with tears. "Before you answer, however, we believe we can offer you something more."
Confused, the girl just waits for what they have to say.
A truly sadistic grin takes over both their faces, but it is in Evan that the sick, lust-filled glow lingers longest. And it is also he who asks in a whispering tone:
"Tell me: what did you know about us before you came here?"
She looks down and answers truthfully:
"I knew that many millionaires and billionaires came here to meet. That there was a strong suspicion of illegal schemes, links with the mafia, political corruption... A lot."
"And they sent you into this nest of snakes, of all people who could come? Maybe a policeman? A whole team?"
"I volunteered."
They both make an expression of genuine surprise. Elena continues:
"I've been working in that place for almost five years and no one even looks at me. I wanted to make a difference in the newsroom; I wanted to be noticed, recognized. But... But I'm here."
James crosses his arms and lets out a wry laugh.
"What a defeatist speech, young lady. You just hit the jackpot!"
"Yes, I'm lucky to be alive and thank you for sparing me," she mutters, totally dejected.
"Not only alive, but you'll get a promotion at work and have direct contact with the Black Wolves."
"Black Wolves?"
Evan rolls his eyes.
"Yes. Me and James."
"You're the leaders of all this, aren't you?"
Their silence is confirmation enough. Elena just sighs and looks down again.
"The added bonus, dear, is that since you will be working directly for us, you will be extremely closely watched and controlled. We will need to know exactly where you are and what you are doing."
Before the woman can say anything, James continues:
"This means there will be a radical change in your life. Everything must change, and that includes your address, the places you go, your dress."
"But... I don't understand."
"Then allow me to be clear. What is your name, girl?"
"Elena."
They both repeat in unison, as if the whole thing were some kind of bizarre ritual:
"Elena..."
The girl frowns. Evan speaks again;
"Elena, you will belong to us. Your life, your existence, your body... All of it will be ours."
The way he says it, the certainty in every word...
"I still don't understand what they mean," she replies, looking from one to the other.
Evan slowly approaches Elena, his eyes scanning her every detail with a hungry gaze. She feels a shiver run down her spine, a sense of unease taking over her body. The billionaire's sadistic smile widens as he continues to speak, his voice now even more charged with lust and domination.
"Dear Elena, you will be our submissive. You will give yourself completely to us, obeying every command we give you. Your body will be our playground, and we will do with it as we please."
Elena's eyes widen in shock and horror.
"You are insane! This is unacceptable! I am not an object you can control!" she protests, trying to resist the terrifying idea before her.
James laughs.
"You have no choice, dear. You're already cornered, and now you must decide whether you want to do this the hard way or whether you'd rather be a good girl and cooperate."
"That's disgusting! You are monsters!" exclaims Elena, with tears of indignation in her eyes.
"Monsters? Perhaps. But we are the monsters who run this world, and you have no choice but to bow down to us," James says with a cold, implacable stare.
Evan steps even closer, touching Elena's face with a predatory expression.
"You have no idea what you're missing, darling. This will be a unique and pleasurable experience for all of us. Don't you realize what we're offering? Tonight you would be nothing more than a mere dead corpse, lying in a place so dark that not even the sunlight could reach you. But now... Now you have everything. Everything you want at a simple reach."
Elena feels a mixture of fear and disgust, but she also realizes that she is faced with an impossible choice. If she refuses, they could kill her right there, or hold her captive indefinitely.
And if she agrees, her life will be completely in the hands of these predators.
She closes her eyes for a moment, struggling with herself, but she knows she has no choice.
Survival is a basic need, and she will do whatever it takes to survive.
"Okay," she murmurs, her voice shaky. "I... I'll cooperate."
James's deep yet husky voice is filled with pride and happiness.
"A wise decision."
A sharp hiss sounds in the room as James purses his lips. It was a signal.
Seconds later, Valentina reemerges from wherever she was. She was probably aware of the whole conversation, but was not allowed to participate.
"Bring the documents now. Change of plans," Evan orders.
Meanwhile, the dark-haired man turns around and starts removing the chains that bind Elena's arms. As soon as he's done, she can't hold back the relief of feeling her limbs free again, moaning.
"What a beautiful sound, Elena," he says in her ear, sending shivers down her spine. "I wonder what else I'll be able to do with you when all this is finally settled."
Valentina returns with a clipboard and pen in one hand.
Evan and James, still standing, smile at her.
Elena says nothing, just continues to stare at them, utterly defeated... and curious.
It is the blue-eyed billionaire who says then:
"Let's draw up your contract, our little pet."
The translation into English is as follows:---Elena's chubby and genial boss, the editor-in-chief of the newspaper, seemed slightly startled to see Elena in his office without her recorder, without her bag, and without anything that could evidence the crimes she had witnessed in the Black Wolves' den."And so?" he asked impatiently.Feeling uneasy, Elena thought of the convenient excuse she had been instructed to use by Evan and James. She swallowed hard, forcing herself to appear natural, even though her heart was beating frantically in her chest. She looked directly into her editor-in-chief's eyes, struggling to maintain her composure."It was quite a night, Mr. Gomes," Elena began, trying to keep her voice steady. "But I think I have a lead to follow."Before the man could inquire further, she continued with her lie:"Mr. Evan Hawthorne and Mr. James Blackwood have no involvement with the mafia or illegal resources. However, I do know of someone who might be truly dangerous."Ele
Huddled against the wall, dressed in what could be considered a prostitute's attire, Elena hugged her knees tightly as the Black Wolves watched her."That doesn't seem like the expression of someone about to be rewarded," the dark-haired man commented sarcastically.Evan added, "Not at all. It looks like she's about to go to the gallows."Mute, the woman just hugged her legs tighter. She refused to look directly at them."What's wrong? We gave you the false information, proved that our scapegoat was dangerous, and now people know the whole truth.""The whole truth?" mocked Elena. "Or the truth you planted?""Does it matter, dear?" retorted James. "You got what you deserved. Your recognition within the company."She breathed in to reply to the Wolf but was interrupted by a severe look from both; the look of someone who would punish her if she crossed the line.Elena gave up trying to argue. After all, they were right. She signed a contract with them, she was their mascot, and she shoul
The familiar voice made Elena's heart skip a beat. She turned slowly, trying to hide the panic in her eyes."Elena, is that you?" Her sister was approaching, concern etched on her face."Hi, Clara," Elena replied, her voice trembling slightly. "What are you doing here?""I arrived in the city today," Clara replied, her eyes quickly assessing Elena's state. "Are you okay? You look... different.""I'm fine."But the blush on Elena's cheeks betrayed that she wasn't exactly fine.Biting her lip to contain the overwhelming emotions and sensations taking over her body, the Wolves' mascot asked her sister:"Did something happen? I thought you said you'd never come back here to live."Clara's expression changed from concern to something much sadder, but she subtly tried to hide it."Well, about that...""What?"Looking somewhat embarrassed, Clara started playing with the strands of her long, dark brown hair."Can we talk somewhere else?""What happened?" Elena insisted."I don't want to talk
Elena's heart raced. The panic she had tried to hide was now visible to everyone."James," she managed to say, trying to keep her voice steady.Clara looked at the man with suspicion, her eyes narrowing."Who is he, Elena?"James smiled, but his eyes remained cold."A friend. I was passing by and saw you. Thought I'd say hi."The man's light eyes, however, were cold as ice. The Wolves' mascot could see every dark thought passing through his mind in detail. Punished. Elena would be punished for trying to betray them. The idea of being tortured again hit her hard, leaving her so terrified that it was impossible to hide."Friend?" Clara asked, her voice full of doubt.Elena knew she couldn't get out of this easily."Yes, Clara, he is... a friend."James looked at Clara, the analysis and slight mockery evident in his eyes."And you must be her sister. Clara, right? Elena talks about you a lot."The woman with long locks kept her gaze steady."I didn't know my sister had friends like that.
At home, while packing her bags, Elena tried not to tremble in Evan's presence. James had personally taken charge of explaining to her boss why she would be absent. She didn’t know the details, much less if James would really go to the local magazine's office, but she decided not to ask questions. The less impertinent she was, the more chances she had to take advantage of this unexpected kindness from the relentless duo of Wolves."Pet." Evan's voice sounded in the room.Elena glanced at him sideways while continuing to pack her clothes. The dark-haired man was sitting on the black pouf next to the bed, sipping the tea he had ordered the journalist to make as soon as they arrived at the apartment."Yes?"Evan crossed his legs, watching her with a calculating and penetrating gaze."You understand the seriousness of the situation, don't you? James is doing you a big favor."Elena swallowed hard and nodded."I understand. I thank you both for this."He smiled slightly, but his eyes showe
Elena's heart stopped for a moment, and her stomach churned. She looked at Evan, hoping he was joking, but the cold, impassive look on his face made it clear there was no room for doubt or questions. Every fiber of her being screamed for her to rebel, to fight against this humiliation, but she knew there was no way out. Not in this situation. With trembling hands, she began to unbutton her shirt, her eyes fixed on the floor. The tension in the room was palpable, and her breathing seemed to echo in her own ears.Evan remained silent, watching her like a predator about to pounce. Every move she made was analyzed with surgical precision, every hesitation noted mentally.Elena removed her shirt and started to unbutton her pants, feeling stripped of any dignity, not just physically but emotionally as well. It was as if she were shedding all her defenses, all her resistance, and completely surrendering to his control. When she was finally down to her underwear, she stopped, waiting for furt
Silverbook was a beautiful city.Quite different from the one she had left behind, Elena thought, inside Evan's luxurious car. He would be the one keeping an eye on her while she stayed at Clara's house. The streets of Silverbook were adorned with lush trees and colorful flowers that contrasted vividly with the well-preserved, old architecture buildings. The morning sun illuminated the city in a postcard-perfect way, and for a brief moment, Elena managed to forget the tension and fear that had accompanied her since her last... conversation with Evan. The car stopped smoothly in front of an elegant and imposing house, surrounded by a well-tended garden."You didn't mention your sister lived in such a beautiful house," commented the Wolf, the first sentence he had spoken during the entire trip."I didn't know. But she probably got it because some rich man financed her," the woman replied, looking at him. "And why didn't you let her bring me here herself? How did you manage to convince h
She looked around, but the square was deserted, only the night breeze rustling the leaves of the trees. Maybe it was just paranoia, or maybe she really was being watched. Either way, she couldn't afford to hesitate.Elena entered the hotel and was greeted by a friendly receptionist who promptly checked her in. After receiving the room key, she took the old elevator, which creaked as it ascended to the third floor. The room was small but comfortable, with a window overlooking the main street. She threw her bag onto the armchair and collapsed onto the bed, staring at the ceiling. The last few hours had been an emotional rollercoaster, and now she needed a plan. Evan had promised to cover her mother's treatment expenses, but the price was too high. She thought about the document he had mentioned. Silverbook was a small town, which meant there were only a few places where something so important could be kept. She suspected she would need to infiltrate some local institution, perhaps a ban
Evan and James were in a dark room filled with advanced technology, their faces illuminated only by the glow of the computer screens. The tension in the air was palpable, and both were clearly anxious about the unfolding situation."The tracker says she's on the outskirts of the city," Evan murmured, his voice deep and full of concern. His fingers flew over the keyboard, trying to pinpoint the signal.James stood beside him, staring intently at the screen with a clenched jaw. He got up and started pacing back and forth, his hands clasped behind his back."Why can't we find more information about who took her?" James asked, his voice laden with frustration. "All the cameras are offline and nothing points to a clear identity.""It's as if they know exactly how to stay off the radar," Evan replied, his expression focused. "I need to figure out exactly where she is. If I can get a reference point, I can try to track her location more accurately."The two men turned back to the screens, wh
...an unexpected refuge amid the chaos of her life. The touches of Evan and James were simultaneously delicate and fiery, each caress carrying deep meaning. It was as if, for a moment, all her worries and responsibilities were set aside, allowing her to be just Elena. The room seemed to envelop the three of them in a cocoon of warmth and intimacy. The soft lights cast dancing shadows on the walls, and the sound of wine being poured into glasses mingled with whispers and gentle laughter. Elena felt wrapped in a veil of security and desire, something she hadn't experienced in a long time.Evan gently pulled her onto his lap, continuing to kiss her with controlled passion while his hands explored the curve of her back. James, on the other side, kept her close, murmuring words of affection in her ear, his lips tracing a path of fire down her neck and shoulders. Each touch, each kiss seemed to dissipate a little more of the tension Elena carried on her shoulders. She allowed herself to ful
A week had passed since that night. Silverbook continued its slow pace, but for Elena, the days had been a mixture of anxiety and tension. She had visited her mother daily at the hospital, where the treatment was finally underway. With each visit, she saw her mother's gradual improvement but also felt the growing weight of what she had done to get to this point. She and Clara hadn't spoken since then. Not that Elena really wanted to reconnect with her sister. She had been completely rude and discourteous by throwing all the financial responsibility on the journalist, especially after saying such vile things. There was a knock on the hotel room door. Huffing, Elena said she didn't want room service, but whoever it was insisted."I said I don't want room service," Elena complained again. The door opened anyway.A handsome man with light hair and blue eyes entered the room, dressed in sophisticated and elegant attire.Elena felt her mouth go dry."James? What are you doing here?"Closing
