Chapter 5: Explain and push down

"Audrey, what are you two doing?"

A whisper at the front door startled the two on the bed and stopped their lewd action. Regina stepped inside and her eyes never left them. Her hands loosened and she took a deep breath.

“Regina, why are you here?... I thought you were on a business trip,” Audrey exclaimed in a daze after seeing the person standing at the end of the bed. Then, he pushed the girl who was sitting on him and quickly took the blanket to cover his lower body.

Regina glared at Audrey. Lips quivered in an attempt to hold back the tears that were welling up inside, “I thought I was going to give you a big surprise. But unexpectedly, the one who should be surprised is me.”

Audrey looked at Regina's pained face and felt a little hurt and shocked. He didn't seem to know what to do next except to say some nonsense, "It's not what you see. I… this… please believe me.”

Regina scoffed. Her husband was naked in bed with another girl and said that was not what she saw. Regina stroked her hair up and braced herself on her hips. She just wanted to laugh at Audrey's attempt to cover his guilt, "Isn't it what I see? So maybe I'm delusional?"

Audrey sensed Regina's abnormal mood so he quickly approached Regina and took her hand, "No. You should be calm. Let's talk slowly, okay?"

Regina knocked Audrey's hand out of hers and looked him straight in the eye, "Do you think we can still talk calmly?", then she pointed at the girl who was silently sitting still in bed, "There are so many girls in the world, why my sister?"

Audrey felt that he had no objection, so he turned his face away to avoid Regina's cold gaze. Suddenly a laugh from behind interrupted Audrey and Regina's conversation. Regina changed from anger to pain.

“There is nothing difficult to understand. It's simply because we've loved each other for a long time,” Stella calmly answered all of Regina's questions.

"For a long time?" Regina frowned. The images and scents from the past gradually returned, making her not want to believe it was real.

“We've been together since you were sold to Mr. Dominic. Our wedding was about to take place when you returned. You ruined everything,” Stella couldn't help but get angry at the mention of this.

At first, Stella fell in love with the gentle and gallant man next to her sister. She always intentionally created many situations to get close to Audrey and greedily enjoyed his attention. However, Stella knew Audrey was only nice to her because she was Regina's sister, who has betrothed him since childhood.

The happiest day for Stella had happened. Regina was forced by Mr. Celine to sell her body to the Dominic family. Stella had heard from the wind that the leader of the Dominic clan was an old man who was greedy, perverted, and had a sadistic disposition. She was sure Regina wouldn't have a good life over there. Around the time Regina left, Stella showed all her skills to attract Audrey's attention. However, Audrey still remembered Regina.

Stella didn't give up so easily. She used Audrey's drunkenness to have a passionate night with him. Later, Stella took advantage of Audrey's guilt and held him accountable. The two were officially together. Stella's family was happy to maintain a close relationship with Audrey's family. However, Audrey's family members slightly disagreed but did not show it because they still had to rely on the Stella family's company. Even if the company Dhara had problems, it still could not get out of the top of the powerful jewelry industry in the market.

Stella's life seemed to be in paradise. She was pampered by Audrey and treated well by his family until Regina returned. Audrey's family changed their attitude and wanted to marry Regina. Stella went to Audrey's workplace, but he avoided the issue and seemed to agree with his family's thoughts. This made Stella's mood fall into the abyss and made her hate her sister even more.

Stella did not accept giving up so much of her efforts. Despite Regina and Audrey getting back together, Stella still reached out to Audrey and seduced him every night. Audrey knew this was wrong but he could not help himself in front of Stella's body and ended up wallowing in wrongdoing with her.

Regina took a few steps back and then tried to stand up after knowing everything. Suddenly she felt that she did not understand her husband well. His kindness and warmth were not exclusive to Regina. Vomiting surged up so Regina had to run to the bathroom. Audrey panicked and followed, causing Stella to glare.

Regina stepped out of the bathroom and swatted Audrey's hand which was trying to catch her, "Don't touch me. I feel disgusted.”

Audrey froze for a few seconds but was still worried about Regina's condition, "Are you okay?"

Stella wrapped the towel around her body and walked over to where Regina had just stood. She bent down to pick up what her sister had just dropped when she ran to the bathroom. Stella's hands clutched the pregnancy test stick in her hand. Her voice was cold, "Are you pregnant?"

Audrey heard this and looked at Regina in surprise. Then, he frowned and turned to Regina, "Are you pregnant?"

Regina heard Audrey's intonation, then she sensed that something was wrong here. Originally, after Audrey found out that Regina was pregnant, he should be happy rather than looking at her confused. Regina smiled softly and rubbed her belly, “Yes, I'm pregnant. We have a baby. Are you happy?"

Audrey's face fell. He pulled Regina away and threw her onto the bed causing her to hold her stomach to protect the newly created fetus. The blue vein on Audrey's forehead rose, "That's impossible. Quickly answer me, did you lie to me?”

Regina still didn't understand what was going on. Why did Audrey see her as such an ancient sinner? Regina was a little frightened by his sudden outburst. Stella glanced at Regina with sharp eyes and clutched the pregnancy test in her hand. Then, Stella gracefully walked up to Audrey and put her hand on his shoulder. Her lips pressed close to his ear and whispered, “I told you my sister isn't as docile as she seems. However, you were always covering for her. Now, are you awake?"

Audrey's eyes gradually reddened, making anyone who looked at him scared and then backed away. He looked like a demon that could take someone's life at any moment. Stella wasn't afraid to make things worse. She continued to shake Audrey's mind, "That pregnancy might be Mr. Dominic's."

Regina glared at Stella's words. She did not expect her sister to be able to blame adultery on her head like that. Regina was about to refute but her face suddenly turned to the side. A deep red streak on her right cheek accentuated the bright white skin that everyone envied. Regina cupped her aching cheek and looked at Audrey in disbelief, "You slapped me. How can you slap me?"

Audrey squeezed Regina's chin and then said, "Why can't I slap you? You are a slut. You agreed to marry me to force me to adopt another guy's child, right?"

After those words, Audrey once again slapped Regina hard in the face causing her to lose the sensation of her face. Regina still decided to continue to refute, “This is clearly your baby. Why do you insist that this belongs to someone else?"

Audrey clenched his fist and turned away to control his emotions. Stella responded to Regina's question on behalf of Audrey, "Didn't you know that Audrey is very unlikely to have a baby?"

Regina stared blankly at Audrey. Feeling her questioning gaze, Audrey felt his hot blood couldn't be contained. He took Regina's hand and pulled her out of the room, "You get out. Get out of my house. I cannot tolerate an unfaithful woman.”

Regina struggled and insisted on staying. She couldn't let herself bear such a false reputation, "I'm not going. This is also my home. The one who has to go is you and her. I'll tell everyone that you two dared to mess around in my bed."

Regina and Audrey were still fighting each other. Stella followed behind and looked at Regina with wicked eyes. Around this time, Stella had just been invited by a large entertainment company to be a model. She always created a feminine and innocent image for herself. If this story got out, Stella would surely lose her reputation. Stella stepped behind Regina and reached out her hands to push Regina down the stairs.

“Regina,” Audrey exclaimed as Regina's hand slipped from his. He watched her roll down the stairs.

Regina lay on the floor. She felt so much pain all over her body that she couldn't breathe. Regina felt the moisture below her and closed her eyes and lost consciousness.
