Ryker’s POV
“What the hell are you doing?”
What Claire did left me at a loss for words and unsure how to respond. However, I believe her words are merely a joke.
“Please stop teasing me.” A chuckle escaped my lips before I shifted my gaze back to her feet again. “Is your foot okay? Does the pain still linger?
“It’s trending now to “kiss your best friend and see their reaction,” and because Russell is a girl, it’s better if you take the challenge with me,” Claire said with a smile.
I cast my gaze upon Claire again, and her words appeared to be uttered with utmost sincerity. I delicately slipped the shoes back onto her dainty feet, then deftly withdrew the chair and settled myself into it. I fixed my gaze on Claire. I just noticed that a lot has changed about her. Her brown, wavy hair cascaded down her shoulders. The sleek ponytail that gathers her hair now reveals the alluring curve of her neck and nape. Her eyes were almost closed, and her smile used to be small. However, now her smile was beautiful, with her eyes shining brightly. The bridge of her nose was exquisitely formed, while her crimson lips remained unchanged. Her shape constantly changed, which I confirmed as I embraced her slender waist. If I was taller than her before, now we are almost the same height because she is wearing heels.
“So? Is the fact that you are looking at me earnestly a sign that you accept my challenge?”
I furrowed my brow and gave a slight nod. “Why me?”
“Jeez, aren’t you listening?” Claire frowned and said. “I don’t want my first kiss to be with a girl, and it can’t be Russell. It’s best if it could be you.”
I inhaled deeply. I noticed Claire’s pouting expression in response to my reaction. “Do you still see me as a child? I’m not a child anymore. I have my period, my boobs have grown, and I have started to have pubic hair on....” Claire said, but I cut her off.
My hand surprised her by covering her mouth. “What the heck are you talking about?”
Without hesitation, she swiftly withdrew my hand from her lips. “I’m telling you this because I want you to be my first kiss.” Claire said, “So what? Is it a yes or no?”
“Well, it’s no, but it isn’t because I don’t want to...”
“Fine. I will find someone who wants to do the challenge with me. Hmp, gay!” With an air of annoyance, Claire turned her back on me. She slipped off her shoes and padded barefoot into the grand hall.
“Did she just call me gay? Seriously?” Annoyance coursed through me.
I took Claire’s shoes and ran after her but couldn’t find her.
---
Claire’s POV
“Haist, is he gay? Despite my perception of him as a heartbreaker who had left many a girl in tears, he showed no interest in a kiss. He’s very annoying!”
As I made my way through the bustling crowd, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of irritation creeping up within me. The noise and mess of the party seemed to be closing in on me, suffocating me with each passing moment. I’m going to find a guy I know, and I’m going to make Ryker believe I’m searching for someone who will consent to be my first kiss.
I pouted as I witnessed Ryan and Russell leaving the building. She managed to slip away from Daniel without his notice. Daniel was seen conversing with the young ladies.
‘The real womanizers don’t care about the women they’re with.’
“Claire!”
As I pivoted on my heel, my gaze fell upon Fabio, the esteemed captain of our university basketball team. He has some of the biggest fans at the school.
With a smile, he approached me and greeted me with a simple “Hi. How are you, Anderson?”
The blaring music drowned out our conversation, compelling him to draw nearer to me just to be heard.
Fabio leaned in, his ear tilted towards me, eager to catch every word I spoke. It is acceptable. “Did you like the party?” I asked.
“Indeed, everyone is relishing the experience,” he exclaimed boomingly. As he spoke, my gaze was drawn to the taut tendon in his neck and the subtle motion of his Adam’s apple with each swallow.
‘Damn, that’s sexy!’
“Why are you by yourself? You don’t have a date, do you?” He asked out loud again.
A chuckle escaped as I spoke, “I had a date, but I left him.”
“That’s bad. Where is Russell, anyway?” He asked.
“She is just there, perhaps with Ryan.”
“It seems like I don’t have any hope for your friend. Ryan Lee is fencing her.”
A chuckle escaped my lips. “You are weak, for you had the opportunity to court Russell.”
“Her older brother looks scary. It’s like he’s eating people.” Fabio chuckled. “Do you care to dance?”
“Sure,” I replied with a nod.
At a towering height of 6 feet, Fabio has secured a spot on the esteemed basketball team. Because I’m not wearing my shoes with high heels, I’m only up to his chin. I looked at him while we talked, seeing more of Adam’s apple than his face.
As I reached out to touch Fabio’s shoulder, a sudden force seized me by the waist and yanked me away from him. To my great surprise, I could not stifle a scream, though the blaring music drowned out any sound I might have made.
Ryker sighed, “Is that truly how one should treat their date? Do you mean to leave him twice?” Ryker asked as he embraced me, and I grasped his shoulder. My gaze fell upon Fabio, but he wore a smile and left.
As I was preparing to pursue Fabio, Ryker intervened, deftly hoisting me up and carrying me away from the crowd. With a gentle release, he set me to the side as we made our way toward the lavatory.
“Haist, what is wrong with you, Big B?”
The music in that part is already low, so we can hear each other well. “Are you flirting with that guy just because I didn’t kiss you?” Despite the irritation in Ryker’s tone, I chose to ignore it.
“Uhm, wait, I will think about it. Well yeah, that might be a reason.” I said. “Why are you so angry?”
“You are behaving like a petulant child. Why are you hugging him, huh?”
“What? We are going to dance. Also, we danced earlier. You were hugging me earlier, too.”
“We are different.”
My lips formed a pout. “You’re both men.”
“I’m your date.”
“Because you are my date, I can’t dance with anyone else.”
“Indeed, that is correct.”
I exclaimed, “Big B, your self-centeredness is truly astounding. Fabio was my friend, yet his affections lay elsewhere, towards Russell, not me.”
With a sly grin, Ryker said. “He can’t touch Russell, so he turns his attention to you.”
My lips formed a pout. “You are such a mean person.”
“I’m a man, too, so I know how they moved.”
“I get it. You’re a pro.”
I turned my back on him and walked into the ladies’ room. After a few minutes, I turned to the door to see Ryker walk in.
“Why did you come here?” Surprise overtook me.
“We haven’t finished talking yet, but you’ve turned your back on me,” Ryker said.
“What? We can talk later.” I said. “I need to pee.”
Before Ryker could talk, loud voices were outside the washroom. I quickly pulled Ryker into the cubicle. We stood, our eyes locked in a tense gaze, facing each other within the cubicle. In our position, I might have a heart attack. He pressed his body firmly against mine, his hands bracing against the cubicle wall. The warmth of his breath enveloped my forehead.
“Turn around,” Ryker whispered.
“Why?” I asked with a frown.
“Well, as you can see, we’re both uncomfortable with this position.”
“I am comfortable,” I stated.
I did not expect Ryker to seize my shoulder and swivel me back toward him. The sound of his deep breaths filled the air. Something hard is poking my buttocks, but I’m not bothered. I moved around a lot to avoid it, but my behind kept rubbing against it. Ryker took another deep breath.
“What in the hell is that?” I complain.
“Why can’t you just stop moving?”
“Something hard is poking my behind,” I said. “And do you expect me to relax? Are you out of your mind?”
“If you don’t stop, I might do something you didn’t expect,” Ryker said.
“Seriously? What sort of things?”

Ryker’s POV
‘Damn, this is bad. If she keeps going...’
With a firm grip on her head, I drew her close. Our faces are now an inch apart. Without hesitation, our lips met. She suddenly stopped moving. Curiously enough, a peculiar sensation stirs within my chest. The feeling had returned to me for the second time.
I delicately withdrew my lips from hers. “Close your eyes,” I whispered.
Claire’s eyes gradually closed as I pressed my lips against hers again. The emotions coursing through me were indescribable. I’ve kissed many girls before, but this one is different. Even compared to my first love, it’s very different.
I started poking her lips with my tongue, and she opened her mouth a little, which I used as an opportunity to put my tongue in. As expected, Claire didn’t know how to kiss, so she let me explore the inside of her mouth and taste every inch of it. A few moments later, I was surprised when she responded to what I was doing. Her tongue mimicked my movements. I gently grasped her arm, relishing the lingering flavor of our passionate kiss. It was unlike anything else. At that precise moment, everything appeared to come to a standstill.
Surprise overtook us as the phone rang. We waited for a response from outside the cubicle, but there was none. We didn’t notice the students coming out of that restroom. Claire carefully peered outside, and I answered the call.
“Daniel, man, what’s up?” I asked.
“I’m heading home with your sister,” Daniel said.
“What?” The sensation of shock coursed through my body. “What happened? Please wait for me in the parking lot. I will look for Claire, and we will go home together.” I ended the call there.
I even lied when I said I was going to find Claire. I left the cubicle immediately and held Russell’s hand while leaving the bathroom.
“Why are you in such a hurry? What happened?” Claire asked me.
“The two have a problem. Daniel said they were going home.”
“What? Why?”
No other words escaped my lips. We hurriedly departed the building and drove directly to the parking area. We were getting closer when we could hear Daniel and Russell fighting.
-
We drove in silence until we reached Claire’s house. I went to Claire’s house so her parents would know I had safely gotten her there. I don’t know what got into my sister’s head and made her do that. But I can’t scold her too much because Claire and I did the same thing. In the restroom, I pressed my lips against hers, and my body responded with a surge of desire.
“Your shoes,” I told Claire, then handed her the shoes.
“Thank you,” Claire expressed with gratitude. Since we left the bathroom, a palpable silence has descended upon us, leaving me uneasy. She has refrained from mentioning the incident, further adding to my discomfort.
“About what happened earlier...?” I began.
A smile graced Claire’s lips. “It was perfect. I have recorded it and will upload it on...”
I gazed at her for a brief moment. She looked like a child who was happy because she got a kiss. It was an ordinary kiss. It’s not how I usually kiss women, but it was like a French kiss for her. A sudden wave of worry washed over me.
“No, please, don’t upload it. We won’t benefit from you posting that on social media. Think about Russell and your parents...”
Claire just looked at me with a puzzled look. I don’t know how to explain it, but something in her makes me feel like I hurt her.
“I’m just clarifying, Claire—that kiss had no meaning, okay? I hope our relationship will not change because of what happened. It was nothing more than a kiss.”
“Y-yeah. It’s just a kiss. I know.” Claire said. “You should go. Thank you, and good night for tonight, Big B.”
“Y-yeah, no worries.”
Claire quickly turned her back on me and entered the house while I closed the door. I left the house and made my way back to the vehicle.
Stunned, I stopped before reaching their gate and pivoted toward Claire’s house.
‘It was just a kiss, and it meant nothing. Ignore what you felt earlier, Ryker.’ I thought as I blew some air and started walking again.
Present TimeRyker's POV"Happy Birthday, sis!"On this day, an important day is upon us—a celebration of my beloved sister's birth. She is 19 years old and hasn't changed much. Our parents considered going out to eat to celebrate because everyone has been so busy these past few months. Since that fateful night four years prior, my entire world has changed, yet time has stood still for her. The arrow of Cupid found its mark, and now every aspect of her being resonates within me with heightened sensitivity.Claire embraced Russell. Later, she also hugged my mom and dad. She came up to me just as she was about to embrace me. But it was as if time had stopped for a second. I never had a chance to talk to or see her much because I hadn't caught up with her at school when I picked up Russell. Sometimes she's on her way home when she visits the house after I arrive. Henceforth, a curious sensation of nervousness and excitement overtakes me whenever she directs her gaze toward me. I'm ready
Claire's POV"I know you already know what she can do, Russell..."As the day drew close, Patricia and the rest of her group joined us. She guided us to the ladies' room. Russell explained to Patricia that being present at her birthday celebration was unfeasible. Not because we don't want to, but because we don't want any trouble. Patricia's reputation precedes her, and crossing her is akin to entering a blazing inferno."Am I so important that you don't want me to attend your party?" Russell asked."Well, our families are well-known and wealthy, and we look out for each other.""What do you want from me?"With a sly grin, Patricia turned her gaze toward us. "I'd like for you to come to my party. Fear not. I only invited a few people to my birthday party. And you're my lucky choice.""Seriously? Lucky?" I asked."Oh, bring a gift," Patricia said. "Let's go, guys."Patricia averted her gaze from us, and her companions trailed behind her. My gaze was fixed on Russell."Are you going?"I
Ryker's POV"Let's go. I'm excited..."Daniel had his car, and I had mine. The bar I mentioned was far from where I worked. It consumed half an hour of our time, accounting for the time we spent traveling through the jam-packed thoroughfare. The establishment exuded an air of refinement, with a handful of vehicles occupying the nearby lot. As the building loomed nearer, a chuckle escaped Daniel's lips."Think we'll like where we're going?" Daniel asked me."My employee told me that most of them are usually here," I said with a smile.Without delay, the guard scanned the area for our identification documents. I hastily produced my driver's license and presented it to the guard for inspection. When he saw my identification, he promptly stepped aside and unlatched the entrance. The interior of the pub exudes a superb and nostalgic ambiance. The bustling atmosphere of the bar took us aback, rendering it quite noisy. As music filled the air, we wasted no time scouring the surroundings for
Ryker’s POV'Jeez, why is it taking so long now?′Restlessness consumed me throughout the meeting. As I sat in the meeting, I couldn’t help but think of Daniel and the two women who had already arrived at the resort. I imagined them basking in the sun, sipping on tropical drinks, and enjoying the luxurious amenities. Meanwhile, I was stuck in the boardroom, listening to endless presentations and envious of their carefree escape. The present encounter marks the fourth time I have convened with my esteemed investors on this day. My finger incessantly tapped against the wooden surface of the table. The passage of time decelerates to a crawl during my meetings, such that I scarcely noticed it in the past, perhaps due to familiarity. However, it is a tedious affair that leaves much to be desired. The desire to hasten the passage of time consumed me as if I held the power to manipulate the very fabric of the universe. My thoughts are preoccupied with Claire, distracting me from my current f
Ryker's POV"What're you doing, Claire?"The sensation of Claire's warm breath on my neck was palpable as I drew her nearer to the cabin. Inadvertently, her lips grazed my skin, sending a shiver down my spine. The interplay of the cool ocean breeze and the heat emanating from our bodies, imbued with the effects of beer, elicited a delightful tingling sensation that coursed through my entire being."I am not doing anything." Claire giggled.I release a measured breath, allowing the air to escape my lungs and, with it, my heightened state of agitation. "It is nice to have a sibling," Claire whispered."If I can get rid of Russell, I'll give her to you." I chuckled. With a light and carefree laugh, Claire expressed her amusement. "What if I want a brother just like you?""I do not wish you to be my sibling," I said.'I would be a sinful man if Claire became my sister. I'm happily secretly in love with her.' I thought.Claire lapsed into silence, refraining from uttering a single word. At
Claire's POV'Damn, Claire, you are weak.'The sudden cessation of Ryker's kisses left me taken aback, and as I gazed upon his face, I noticed a perplexed expression. The enigmatic nature of his thoughts and emotions left me with no choice but to release my grip and close my eyes. Little did I know that Ryker's departure was imminent.Resting my forearm on my head, I let out a deep sigh. I pressed my teeth into my lower lip. Alas, have I committed a mistake? Is it not sufficient? Perhaps, he harbors no emotions towards me, not even a hint of infatuation or reverence. With a pout, I lowered myself onto the soft mattress."Oh!" I cradled my head in my hands. "It hurts!" I collided with the pillow upon which I reclined. The annoyance factor cannot be denied. Annoyance coursed through my veins.I don't understand. Am I being too modest? I ought to have exerted myself further to entice him. Flirting with him could have led to his disinterest. The feeling of disdain overwhelms me. Tonight i
Claire's POV'Haist, if this Ryker weren't so cute, I would have made his face bleed a while ago. But his handsome face will get stained, so I can't.' I thought. My gaze shifted to Ryker, who waved to Daniel, bidding him farewell. Daniel bid us farewell and set off towards the bustling metropolis, leaving the three of us in his wake. Russell sprinted towards us. Once more, the green-eyed monster had taken hold of me, and Russell was the focus of my envy. Inhaling deeply, I furrowed my brow and reclined on the sofa bed.'Maybe Ryker doesn't like me because my body isn't as good as Russell's." Perhaps it was my body shape that failed to meet his expectations.' I thought."Are you coming on the jet ski with me?" After glancing in my direction, Ryker turned to Russell and posed a question."I don't want to," I said. "So I'll stay here.""Are you sure?" Russell posed a question to me."Yes, it is way too hot. I don't want to get sunburned." I said.Ryker's gaze met mine, yet I didn't care.
Claire's POV"I really couldn't believe that Patricia had apologized to you earlier. Why did she do it, exactly? Did a good spirit take control of her?" I uttered it softly, my voice barely above a whisper.Russell and I strolled towards the parking lot, where Ryan patiently awaited our arrival in his vehicle. Ryan invited us out."I was surprised, but I think something happened that we don't know about," Russell said. "We know her, and she is not that kind of person. Then something must have made her change her mind.""I think you're right. And Pat's behavior makes it even stranger.""I wonder who was mad enough to scare her. This person deserves our gratitude."Ryan came into our view and waved in our direction with a friendly gesture. "What on earth is he doing here?" Russell asked. Daniel stood beside his car, his hands tucked away in his pockets, his gaze fixed upon us.With a sudden burst of energy, Ryan hastened towards us and seized Russell's wrist. However, others held her be
CLAIREAs the excitement for our second wedding grew, a question remained in the air. Russell asked, “Are you still feeling nervous about the honeymoon?” He wanted to know if there were any worries left.Russell and I were sitting next to each other, and our eyes were locked for a moment. A tiny baby was in her arms, and she was holding it perfectly. Ryker and Daniel were busy with other young investors and businessmen in the distance. My husband Ryker and I’s wedding reception is over. There weren’t many people there. Professor Alice and her husband, Alex, were there, along with Daniel’s friends and past coworkers. After what happened to Russell, which Ryan caused, these people had become like family. There’s been a secret growing inside me for four months now. My condition’s symptoms have failed to appear despite time. Russell’s body is now back to how it was before. A feeling of envy came over me as I looked at her. I cautiously inserted my finger and felt her essence wrap around it, warm and moist.Claire's groan of frustration echoed off the walls as I stubbornly continued to trace circles over her breast and pull her n-pple softly into my lips. She started swaying her hips in time to the rhythm of my touch as I stretched my finger towards her."Love!" I exclaimed, "You're making me so horny!" I stopped the tender stroking of her n-pples as I carefully removed my finger from her. I kneeled at the foot of the bed and helped her legs rest there. Instantly, I opened the space between her legs and explored her slickness with all my enthusiasm."Aaaah, Ryker!" Claire's back arched.I pressed my lips against her wetness and kissed her labia. As Claire's hips raised, my hands immediately sought to cradle them. Her hips floated effortlessly in the air as I continued devouring her. Then, as if pulled by some unseen magnet, our lips locked in a passionate, beautiful kiss. After a passionate exchange, our bodies heaved with tiredness, and our breath was ragged and laborious as we lay entwined. My finger lightly stroked her face in a sweet, sensitive gesture.I softly whispered, "Hey, love, how about we get married again?" My voice was unsure. "While still your baby bump is hidden."Claire screamed, "What?" with genuine amazement in her voice. The words floated in the air, an inquiry loaded with doubt. "But wait, aren't we already married?"When I finally got off of her, I curled up next to her with my arms around her and kissed her. She laid her head on my chest, and I let her take in the sound of my heart beating."But you still use your birth name, right?" I murmured, a note of exasperation in my voice. I tri
RYKER"Dude, it's too late!"Both Russell and Daniel were making noises that we could hear in the background. Suddenly, Claire looked at me again."Love, it looks like Russell is in labor; he won't make it to the hospital. Make an appointment with the doctor right away!" Claire's voice filled the room."What? Is Russell having a baby?" I was shocked. "Wait, it's my phone." I was just quickly searching through my car, my eyes darting around from one spot to another. I freaked out when I couldn't find my phone. "Hey, do you know where my phone is?" I asked, with a blank expression on my face, as the words just slipped out."We're using it, Ryker," Claire said.Suddenly, Russell yelled, "Hey Daniel, the baby is on its way! Get ready to catch him!" You need to be ready to catch him!" Russell, clearly upset, yelled loudly in the background."F-ck!" The voice that could be heard all over the room belonged to Daniel. After a while, Claire and I got scared when we heard the sound of a baby cr
RYKER“Are you sure about that?” I casually asked Claire, acting like I already knew the answer. You don’t like pineapple, right?”As we were strolling through the grocery store, it was pretty obvious that we had picked up almost every type of fruit they had for sale. Fruit is becoming Claire’s favorite food!“Smooth-textured dragon fruit?” I raised an eyebrow in shock and said, “Seriously?” I raised an eyebrow as I asked the question.Clare nodded. “Yeah,” she said, “I prefer yellow-skinned dragon fruit.”I kept looking at Claire and studying her carefully. Where can I find dragon fruit with that yellow and smooth texture?Intrigued, Claire said, “Why do you appear to have such a peculiar appearance? Are you not going to find me a dragon fruit?” Claire’s expression furrowed as she spoke. She pouted her lips to show her displeasure. Midway through our chat, Claire voiced her dissatisfaction, her tone laced with pain. She said gently, “You promised to give me everything, my love,” her
RYKERMom’s voice trembled as she spoke, “It’s fine, I understand.” My mother-in-law spoke, her voice echoing through the room.Food was brought by Claire’s parents. Uncertain of Claire’s preferences, I find myself unable to determine whether she will enjoy the dish.“Wasn’t Claire affected by Heiji’s drug? No one knows that she’s pregnant.” Dad’s voice echoed through the room.“There is nothing, the doctor stated. However, the doctor suggests we let Claire’s blood and everything else be tested so we can be sure. Even so, Dad, I want to be certain.”“I want to sue Heiji for his actions,” Dad said. “I won’t let him just walk away, even if it’s claimed that he didn’t touch Claire that evening, but your mother.” A hint of irritation tinged Dad’s voice as he cast a glance at Mom’s direction. “Just accept it as is. She seems not to care about my daughter at all.”“My daughter Claire is also mine. It doesn’t mean I no longer care, even if I disagree with your desire to sue Heiji. I consider
RYKER“Are we back home?” Her eyes darted around, taking in her immediate surroundings while the question lingered in the air. A feeling of uneasiness pervaded the air as if she were waiting for confirmation.Claire’s eyes shifted to mine as I cautiously undid her seatbelt. “Yeah,” I said with a simple nod. “How was you sleeping?”We decided to go back to the familiar surroundings of Manila after a few more days in the picturesque town of Sagada. I was tired and weary after the long drive. My limbs, too, were weighed down by throbbing pain. To be sure Claire was okay, I drove very slowly and steadily. There was a palpable feeling of hurry when the safety belt was undone. Quickly, I extended a hand to help her out of the car. I took her hand in mine, my voice full of worry as I pleaded, “Please, my love, be careful.”At Claire’s teasing chuckle, I couldn’t help but look in her direction. She reassured me that there was no need for me to offer my help and that she was well on her own.M
RYKER“But... she’s bleeding. Wasn’t she having a miscarriage?” I asked in worry. The doctor informed the patient that bleeding during pregnancy is normal, especially for a few weeks into the pregnancy. The bleeding was not serious, and the faint spotting and occasional bleeding were harmless until the bleeding became excessive. There's no need to panic. That means...“The baby is safe.”I exclaimed, “Shit!” out of excitement. My voice rang out. With a quick movement, I looked at the doctor instead. I said, “Sorry,” and then my eyes returned to Claire. My voice was barely audible, so I wasn’t sure whether she heard me apologize. I proclaimed, “I am going to be a daddy!” with a massive smile. As I look at Claire, an overwhelming sense of happiness floods me.“Your wife mentioned that you reside in Manila. Therefore, I suggest you return to Manila first, even if your wife’s health is fine.” The doctor stated, “I noticed that the wife is a little weak and, if I’m not mistaken, that she h
RYKER“Love!”When I stopped the car in front of the house, I felt a burning need to escape it. I ran faster as I made my way to the front door. My attention was focused entirely on Claire. I didn’t even look at Manang Greta once. Instantly, the door opened, and I quickly looked around the room for Claire.“Miss Claire is in your room.”I quickly went up the stairs because I was eager to get to our room as soon as possible and didn’t wait for Danica to answer. As the door opened, I yelled throughout the room for Claire.“Love!”Regrettably, I found out that she wasn’t in the room. Although I was walking down the hallway, a strange sound caught my attention. It seemed to be coming from the bathroom’s direction. Because I was interested, I turned toward the noise source, and as I walked, my steps became more thoughtful. I felt like I needed to act quickly, so I didn’t knock any further and promptly turned the doorknob, which let me see what was in the bathroom.“Love!”“Oh my god, what
