Angelo Cruz POV
I slowly opened my eyes and saw Kristina, she was prepping dinner. It smelled like crab and corn soup, I scoffed, damn this feels nostalgic. It's what I would always eat whenever I get sick when I was younger because-
My thoughts were cut off as Kristina says, "Because crab is yummy and corn helps you improve your vision to find me!"
I was surprised. That was what exactly she says when we were younger, how would Kristina know that? Kristina blushes as she realizes what she just said, "Ah, sorry, force of habit."
"Where did you learn that?"
She laughs and said, "A television program."
I laughed as well, yeah, that television program. It was really my childhood. It feels so nostalgic.
I saw my fists properly bandaged. Kristina must've saw how horrifying it was.<
Angelo Cruz POVThis just sucks big time. Why do I even have to be stuck accompanying Kevin, someone who just made an announcement days ago about his feelings for Kristina and is actually following through it? I mean, can't he walk on his own? He's even wearing Kristina's jacket, what a show off."You owe me an apology." Kevin scoffs as he demanded"And what should I apologize for?"Kevin pointed his wet clothes from head to toe and replied in such a calm manner which annoys me, ah crap, to be fair, everything he does annoys me, "Your childish prank earlier?""It wasn't for you so you're the one who should apologize." I continued, "Besides, I expected it from Kristina but I never would've expected it from you to be so careless to fall for my- what do you call it?- ah yeah, childish prank.""So
Kristina Valdez POVAfter a few more minutes, I went back home and did a little more light reading, well that's if you actually consider reading 4 books light reading. I usually go out late at night because it's been a force of habit to walk around Angelo's house. When I was younger, I would always go out late at night and wake up way early because I was waiting when Angelo would come back home. I remembered how I would always say that I want to be teh first person Angelo saw here. I was afraid he'd forget my face if he left too long so I wanted to be the first one he saw.I would do that everyday without fail.Until the day he shows up finally but it didn't matter if I was the first face he saw. His eyes were then set to look ather. After all, I'm just the first friend, his childhood friend. She'sthe girlfriend.
Angelo Cruz POVI just kissed Kristina... I have no idea how I was suppossed to react. No, more importantly, I didn't hate it and tha bothers me to the core. She instantly pulled away as she touches her lips, she was so red.Is it her first kiss? She looked away from me, embarassed, I was about to say something to her when the professor suddenly announced, "Angelo Cruz, your presence is requested at the principal's office."There were murmur again about what trouble I caused this time, geez, don't people have anything else to di with their lives aside from going all through that trouble to care about what's going on with other people's lives?I proceeded to the principal's office as I was instructed. I looked back at Kristina and she hasn't move an inch. Is she okay?I opened the door, the creaking sound from the door was eerie, I think
Angelo Cruz POVKristina tilts her head to the side, "What? I didn't hear that.""I said I'm sorry, it was an accident. Your first kiss shouldn't be an accident. It's meant to be special." I replied while still keeping my distance from her"Okay." She turns around again.Hey, Kristina, I wonder what you would've said if you heard me say that? What would you say? Rather...what do I want you to say?She bought some ice cream and I did too."Can I have a banana sundae please!" She smiled then the cashier turned to me so I replied, "I'll have the same."I gave my card and told her to charge it on me. She laughs, "You're silly, you don't like banana.""Yea, I don't." I said as I took a bite in my banana sundae, "But I guess my preferences can change."&nb
Kristina Valdez POVWe went to the nearest market we could find but it was quite far. Either that or we just don't know the way, signals here are quite weak. We can barely use Waze to know which direction we'll be taking. After a while, we saw a local passing by, Kevin asks, "Hello, are there any market around here or someplace we can buy some food?"He points at the direction forward, "Yes but the road is quite narrow, I doubt your car will fit in.""Oh, okay, thanks!"Kevin unbuckled his seatbelt and says, "You can stay here Kristina, just lock the door and wait for me."I said, "I'll get bored."He laughs, "I'll turn on the radio and buy you something form the store.""No."I wanted to come with him because I knew he's going to need some help but he's so use

Kristina Valdez POVAs the night consumed the sky, everyone got ready to sleep but I wasn't able to sleep well at night especially if it's not my room so I sneak out my room very quietly wearing my fluffy slippers and cotton pajamas. My hair was messily tied up in a bun.I carefully examined outside if there were anyone but there wasn't so I quietly went out and checked the rooftop but it was locked. So instead, I went downstairs, just stayed at the lounging area.Suddenly I saw Kevin working at something this late at night just beside the lounging area. I'm sure he saw me too but I still hid behind the sofa.Kevin laughs, "You know that it's past curfew, right?""I could say the same to you.""Look, you don't have to say anything about earlier, you know? I respect your feelings and privacy so it'll be up to you."&
Kevin Langdon POVI let her go from my grasp, she was dumbfounded and she was really blushing, ahh crap, my heart was really beating too fast as well. I laughed gently, "Is that supposed to be and answer?"She stuttered, "Ah, I- I-"I cut her off as I stood up and reached out for her hand, "Yo
Angelo Cruz POV10 years have passed since then, I drank a quick coffee on my way to the hospital...I frantically went to the wards and I asked the nurse, "Where's the patient?""Ah." the nurse continued, "Dr. Cruz, we've been waiting for you, did you oversleep again?""Hey, no I didn't." I denied as I put my glasses on to hide my eyebags, "I had to take care of some things in our company.""Wow, you never really fail to amaze me." She mocks, "A doctor and a CEO. What do you lack? Ah right, a girlfriend."I frowned as I glanced at sky. I replied, "Yeah, save the teasing for later."At lunch break, I went ahead and meet Abby at the local cafe. She had the once long and flowy hari again from back when we were kids, she was carrying a laptop and protests, "Seriously? You had me walk all the way here?""Hey, don't be so picky
Angelo Cruz POVKristina hugged me back and said, "You finally... remembered me.""I told you I'd never forget you, right? That I'd always come running back to find you?" I was crying as well as I continued, "Sorry it took me years.""It's fine." Kristina smiledI stood up and walked towards Abby, she closes her eyes as she braces herself for the harsh things I'll say but in the end, I patted her head gently, I said, "Thank you Abby. And sorry, I wasn't able to notice you until now."Abby left with Kevin without saying anything else.I walked Kristina back home as I held her hands, I said, "It's a shame that I have to leave you again.""Do you really have to?"I nodded"Then, instead, don't forget to write and be sure you'll come back for me ne
Angelo Cruz POVI remembered it so clearly like it was only yesterday... I heard Kristina's voice from our past. She was wearing her hair in a messy pigtail and protested as we were walking around, "Hey! Wait up Angelo.... My feet aches."I remembered how I smiled and said, "I'll carry you, just hop on my back."Kristina would stare into the sky as I carry her on my back and point out at the clouds saying things like, "Wow, I wonder what the clouds taste like."I would always laugh and say, "Probably like water.""Yep probably or like a candy."We would talks about silly things and laugh at silly jokes as I carried her all the way back then we stopped by the tree where Kristina likes to climb all the time. A girl appeared before us that day.She had a long and flowy hair and pastel dress complimenting her pinkish skintone
Christina Abby Reyes POVKevin was still okay after some shots, I remarked, "I take it that you're used to social meetings, what? Your parents forced you to attend?""No." Kevin replied, "My parents died. I was required to attend and most of them involves drinking, I figured, it's one of the easiest technique to get into their comfort zones and I just kinda got used to it.""Why did you really come?""I'm heartbroken?""No. I can see through people's lies you know?" I continued, "I know you have a reason for coming.""Do you know why I gave up?"I gulped and asked, "Why?""Because I saw Kristina... so happy and heartbroken and sad and genuine. All of those emotions- all of them were because of Angelo- I can be there to pick her up when her heart breaks into a million pieces but just as soon as it gets
Angelo Cruz POVKevin's finally giving up... he must've really liked Kristina, probably more than I do because he can actually let her go and be happy and on the other hand, I can't. I'm sorry for being selfish until the end, Kristina. But that line... it bothered me. What Kristina had said earlier, "I'll be your shield so don't worry too much, you're not alone. You never were."It's what the girl from my childhood would always say. It's the first thing she said when we met at that old abandoned house. I ran away from home. I remembered. How did she know those exact words and Abby never once told me that after all these years? It's the exact lines. The exact reason. Her whole family says it.Just before I go to Kristina, Ashley grabbed my hand and dragged me far away from the venue, she was furious. I guess she figured it all out. I asked even though I think I k
Angelo Cruz POVI immediately pulled away, surprised as Abby kissed me, I protested, "Stop acting like a kid. We're not kids anymore, Abby.""If... I wasn't the girl from your childhood memories... then wouldn't you like me?" Abby askedI flinched as I honestly said, "I... ever since, I only had one special girl in my heart and it was you.""Was." Abby emphasized"Was." I confirmed, "You're someone special to me and you always will be. For that, I will be forever thankful for you being there Abby but you have to let me go.""Why? You know you're bad for Kristina, all you do is hurt her but can you let her go? Can you let her go and find happiness with someone else?" Abby asksI... wasn't able to say anything back. I...couldn't?There was a time that we were happy. We really were but as my memories bet
Kevin Langdon POVAs soon as I saw Kristina that happy on the dance floor, it broke my heart, it just kept reminding me just how much Angelo has me beat. Abby went to the bathroom, she must've felt the same way as I did so I followed her. She locked the door and I waited for her outside the girl's bathroom.I heard her sniffling. Abby's obviously just leaning by the bathroom door. I knocked and said, "You okay?"Abby immediately went outside and denied, "I just needed to freshen up."I gave her a tissue and said, "Well, welcome to the broken hearts club.""It's okay." Her eyes gloomed a little, "I've been at it since the beginning."Abby fixed her mascara and kept her composure, she asked, "Don't you hate me as well? I mean, the girl of your dreams obviously does.""I.." I paused and chuckled, "Honestly, I don't. I told m
Christina Abby Reyes POVI saw Angelo's cold eyes once again. Did he really hate me that much that no matter how long I stay with him, Kristina's the only one he sets his eyes upon? Who am I kidding, if I was him, I'd probably hate myself too.I stole them of their love story after all.I knew sooner or later he'd figure it out but sorry, I planted fake memories throughout the years... I never intend to pretend...but in every day, Angelo would call me by her name and I would always get my hopes up but it turns out, I'm not the Kristina he's been looking for.I play along with what he remembers. It's years, Kristina. Not even you can dig up his real memories. They're gone forever. In the end, I will be the one beside him.Angelo looks at me even more confused as he continued to talk to Kristina. I knew when I arrived, their conversation would be about
Kristina Valdez POVI remember it all too well. I slept with thoughts of the past. No matter why she- Abby- did it, she still pretended to be me and that cost me Angelo. It cost me my only friend. I have never felt so alone and all these years, I kept believing that I was just someone you can toss aside. Angelo and my dad left leaving me with my thoughts. I always wondered that maybe i wasn't enough.10 years ago, huh?... I can't believe it's been that long. I remembered the day Angelo left me in the closet there at my birthday with nothing but a birthday box to cling to. I heard they moved to America for good but I was hoping one day he'd come back.I still kept the unsent letters. I never got their address so I just kept writing letters without ever sending them.I always made excuses for him. I told myself that maybe Angelo was busy making new friends or busy studying to be a doct
