Chapter 38

PIERRE POV

The weekend at my mom’s had been phenomenal. I don’t know if it was the mere fact that I was no longer living there, well; technically, but something about the Saturday movie night in the small theatre room, popcorn, and lots of laughter seemed to be out of this world. Of course, we used to watch movies together while I was still living there, but right now, it was as if some extra masala had been added to the mix, making every second we spent together count.

What made my heart gloom even further was when my dad called, and both he and mom talked. I had expected nothing but pure awkwardness between the two of them, considering the turn of events, but nope. Nothing like that. The conversation had been flowing, mom even took away my phone while giving him the tour of the house, stopped to greet Gabriel, and continued. It was as if they were old friends and they were reuniting after spending years apart.

When Monday morning arrived, I was reluctant- in all senses of the word-
