Chapter 7

“Elodie,” the deep rumble of his voice was what I needed to pick my jaw from the floor.

“What are you doing here?” I glared at him.

“You don’t look too pleased to see me,” he cocked his head to the side.

The part of me that was thinking he had come to see me again, was soon subdued when I took in his dressing, and Daniel stumbling behind him with a huge bouquet that covered half of his face.

So they were the guests.

My face tightened into a scowl, and I moved to the side to let them in, hating how small I felt standing next to his towering build.

“Lovely outfit,” Chase winked at me.

“You’re here,” mother squealed as she rushed over to them.

“For you,” Daniel handed her the bouquet and placed a kiss on her forehead.

She sniffed the roses, and they both stood, staring longingly at each other like they hadn’t been together all night and most of the morning.

I resisted the urge to puke.

“Are we actually going to eat or we’re going to watch both of you eye-fuck each other the whole night?”
