Chapter 45

I stared at the address on my phone, my heart racing with excitement and nerves. I had to see him. I had to make things right.

I reread the message for what felt like the twentieth time in two minutes, and I clutched my phone to my chest, and let out a quiet squeal.

I hurried into the shower, and did my routine as quickly as possible. I got dressed in casual clothings, and tied my hair up in a messy bun.

I quickly grabbed my bag and headed out the door. I hailed a taxi and gave the driver the address.

As we drove, I couldn't help but think about what I would say to him. I had to apologize, had to explain. But what if he didn't want to see me? What if he was still angry?

I shook my head, pushing the thoughts away. He wanted to see me. He said so himself.

The taxi pulled up to building nestled among other prestigious and high rise buildings, its sleek glass and steel façade gleaming in the sunlight and I handed the driver a crumpled dollar bill before stepping out of the car.
