Chapter 3

Chase's pov

“Mate,” my wolf said breathlessly, causing me to look away from the whore with her mouthful of my cock, and to the door.

I stiffened immediately.

My eyes locked with deep ocean eyes filled with lust and that was what I needed to push me over the edge and with one last thrust, ropes of cum spilled out of my cock and on the whore’s face who licked every drop off.

It was like something clicked in the mind of the girl in front of me and her eyes widened before she slammed the door shut.

“Fuck,” I grunted and pulled my pants up.

“You like that?” The girl on her knees, whatever her name was, asked in a sultry tone.

“Yeah, I guess. You can leave now,” I turned around and buttoned up my shirt.

The next thing I felt was a breath at my back before the girl snaked her hands around my chest. “When can we do this again?” She purred in my ear.

“Never. Leave now,” I growled lowly.

I didn't need to turn to see the shocked expression on her face as I moved away from her hold.

“What?” I became irritated at her hesitation.

Her eyes were watery and she looked like she was going to cry.

Pathetic humans.

“Money? Here,” I opened my wallet and handed her all the dollar bills I could find in there.

“I'm not a slut!” She yelled and threw the money at my feet.

“You're not?” I titled my head to the side.

Her face flushed and she looked like she was going to cry. Or yell. Or both.

“But you….”

“Get out!” I said icily, using my Alpha command.

The girl shivered before grabbing her purse and hurrying out of the room.

“Fuck,” I groaned again.

What the fuck was that girl doing here?

The same girl that had haunted my consciousness for a whole week. I had searched for her that night, but it was like she just disappeared into the clouds.

And now she was here.

Why was she here?

My wolf paced restlessly in my mind, urging us to go to her, and his words when she stepped into the room hit me in the gut.

Mate.

That's not possible.

Werewolves and humans didn't mate. Much less an Alpha.

It was simply impossible.

But I couldn't help but think back to how I had been drawn to her while she danced half-naked on that pole. I couldn't even keep my fucking hands to myself.

“Focus, Chase,” I snapped at myself.

I was here on an important task, not to get tangled up with some human who stirred up stupid things inside of me.

With that, I walked out of the room where I had called home for the past two months.

The daunting task that brought me to the human world was meant to be easy. I had all the clues I needed, but I still didn't understand why I reached a dead end each time.

My thoughts occupied my mind till I got to the dining table where dinner was already set and three pairs of eyes turned to me.

Daniel, beside him was a beautiful woman that looked to be in her late thirties, and opposite them was her.

The girl that made my heart skip a beat.

“Ah, we've been waiting for you,” Daniel’s loud voice broke the silence.

With a small smile on my face, I pulled the chair next to the girl and plopped down on it.

She stiffened beside me, but I ignored her, too focused on her scent of jasmine, apple and lavender floating through my foggy head.

My wolf clawed at my mind to get closer to her, but I quickly shut him out and clenched my hands in fists to avoid doing anything stupid.

It also didn't skip my notice how her heartbeat accelerated from my nearness. Humans, too simple minded and predictable.

“I didn't know we had guests. I was busy,” I raised an eyebrow.

“Busy,” the girl beside me scoffed.

Amusement danced in my eyes as I turned to her and was about to say something, but Daniel beat me to it.

“Don’t mind me. Chase, this is Meredith, my fiancé, and her daughter, Elodie.”

“Ellie,” I heard the girl beside me correct through gritted teeth as she brought a glass of water to her lips.

Elodie, hmm.

“Babe, this is my brother, Chase,” he said to the woman by his side.

I flashed her my award winning smile and a faint blush appeared on her cheeks, and I resisted the urge to laugh out loud.

“You didn't tell me you had a hot brother.”

Elodie choked on her drink before falling into a coughing fit.

“Everything okay, Elodie?” I finally turned to her.

Fuck, she was beautiful.

Misty blue eyes, hair as dark as midnight cascaded down to her shoulder, pink pouty lips and cheeks flushed red.

I wouldn't say she was the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen, because I see a lot of them on a daily basis, but there was just something about her that made me keep looking at her even when I wanted to look away.

“I'm okay,” she forced out, breaking me out of the spell her eyes had pulled me into. “And it's Ellie,” she corrected, anger lacing her tone.

I chuckled inwardly. Someone has a temper.

“Since we're all here and introductions have been made, let's eat, shall we?” Daniel asked the table.

We all dished our food as small talk went round the table. All the while, Elodie remained quiet, and did her best not to make any physical contact with me.

“So, Ellie, your mother tells me you're taking a year gap,” Daniel asked.

“Uh huh,” she nodded.

“What do you want to major in?” He pressed.

“I wouldn't be taking a year gap if I knew that,” she snapped.

“Ellie!” Her mother glared at her.

“I mean, choosing a major for college can be hard. It was hard for me too,” I broke the ice.

“I bet it was,” Elodie muttered under her breath and stabbed a piece of meat with her fork.

My lips curled into a smirk as her innuendo didn't go unnoticed by me.

The rest of the meal went with Daniel and Meredith sharing stories of how they met, and just won't shut up about it, while the person I really wanted to hear, remained quiet, only giving one word responses where necessary.

Her quietness intrigued me because I knew there was a fire behind that façade. I had gotten a glimpse of it that night at the club.

My cock immediately jerked up at the thought of that night and I mentally cussed myself out.

“Chase, would you mind dropping Ellie off? I have some stuff to discuss with Daniel,” Meredith said after dinner.

I raised an eyebrow as the scent of her arousal filled the air, letting me know what exactly she wanted to “discuss” with Daniel.

“He doesn't have to drop me off. I can find my way,” Elodie said firmly and crossed her arms around her chest, pushing her full tits up.

Those tits….

“I don't mind,” I licked my bottom lips.

“Perfect,” Meredith clapped her hands.

“Uh, I'm not sure you heard me,” Elodie said, not looking in my direction.

“It's late. You'll go with him and that's it,” her mother stood her ground.

Elodie looked like she was going to protest, but swallowed the rest of her words and stood up. “Nice to meet you, Daniel,” she flashed him a fake smile and walked away.

Meredith muttered “sorry” to me, and I sent her a reassuring smile before following after her.

It was already pretty dark out but with my heightened senses, something caught my eyes.

“What's that?” I asked just before she reached the car.

“Look, Chase or whatever your name is, you're taking me home doesn't mean we have to talk and….”

I growled, cutting her off as my eyes zeroed in on her elbow. “What the fuck is that, Elodie?”

It couldn't be.

Her eyes traced down to what I was looking at, and she tugged the sleeve of her shirt to cover it up.

“Mind your business,” she snarled and turned around.

For the first time in a very long time, I was confused. That was unmistakably a claw mark. But how was that possible?
