Chase’s pov

“Man, you look like shit,” Alexander, my beta and childhood friend, chuckled.

I threw the ball in my hand right at his face. That will teach him to laugh.

“Ouch,” he groaned, rubbing his forehead. “When did you become so uptight?”

I glared hard at him, and swiveled on the chair I was sitting on.

“What’s wrong? Don’t tell me you’re moody because the newly released Maserati had been sold out before you got your hands on it,” he gave me a bored look.

I rolled my eyes, but didn’t say anything.

I couldn’t, not because I didn’t trust him, but because he wouldn’t understand. I didn’t understand it myself.

It had been two days, but the energy I felt when I touched Elodie, was still so strong I could still feel it on the tip of my fingers.

No human, and not many werewolves, carried that type of energy in them, and it surprised as well as bothered me.
