Somehow, I felt like I had bitten more than I could actually chew but this man was right in front of me, lying down nearly breathing and the cold feeling of cuffs were still around my hand and this time, I could hear the words very well.

"You have the right to remain silent because everything you say can be used against you in the court of law. You have the right to an attorney, if you can't afford one, the state will provide one for you."

I did not fully understand what was going on but I did not have enough time to figure it out because suddenly, I was being thrown into the back seat of a police car and driven away.
