CHAPTER 31

KIAN

I ran my hand through the table of different sharp objects, looking for the perfect one that would create the perfect injuries. The man I had tied up to a chair was still struggling to escape, the more I heard his forced breaths, the more anger filled my veins.

My fingers finally settled on a gleaming knife that looked like it could cut through air itself. The cold metal reflected in the light as I walked towards him, the room dimly lit with a single flickering bulb on the roof.

He was shaking, but he tried not to move too much. He was sitting on a chair of thorns, sharp thorns that currently pierced his skin and stayed inside it. “You think this changes anything; you can’t save them all! You’d keep killing, and more would keep coming”

I didn’t respond; my silence was a precursor to the storm I was about to unleash. With deliberate slowness, I dug the edge of the knife along his cheek. A huge line of blood followed its path. His screams filled
