Chapter 67

The hallway was dark and gloomy, making the portraits on the walls more ominous than they should have been. My eyes flickered to the faces and eyes that tracked me through the hallway. Harkness Manor had always been full of history, but as I contemplated my future with Cillian, they seemed to whisper to me, encouraging me to make a decision.

As I made my way to the guest room, Bartholomew’s words danced in my mind, playing back over and over like a broken record that wouldn’t stop.
