Isobel

“You have no right to hurt Ryle. How could you insult and disrespect him like that? From now on, you are no friend of mine. You are nothing but a rabid she-wolf without manners.”

I was taken aback by Crisha's sudden action, my hand on my cheek where her slap had landed. The force of it was unexpected, leaving me bewildered by her betrayal. I looked into her eyes, hoping to find some remorse, but I was shocked to see nothing. Doubts started to fill my mind, questioning if everything she had shown me in our friendship was genuine. How could she easily turn away from me? The whole situation felt unreal, beyond what I could have expected. It left me speechless.

Ryle and his friends cheered from behind, finding entertainment in the unfolding drama. Ryle appeared to be equally surprised by Crisha's actions, though I wasn’t sure whether it was genuine surprise or not. But I could sense the satisfaction building inside him, knowing that he succeeded in his plan to inflict hurt on me.

My anger intensified. The person who influenced my friend to do this was standing right in front of me, cheering as if it were something amusing. I walked closer to Ryle to confront him. He looked at me, waiting for something to happen. As I got a closer look, my heart beat faster, not because of anger but for a different reason.

Despite his bad attitude, I couldn't help but admire his looks. His messy blonde hair suited his well-structured face perfectly. His smooth skin was different from what I thought a guy could have, and his ocean-blue eyes were a great combination. Unintentionally, I got lost in Ryle's beauty, imagining him as something close to what I thought Midnight Wolf would look like.

‘No, Isobel. Don't be fooled by his looks. The Midnight Wolf is gentle, kind, and warm. No doubt about it! So stop comparing this scumbag to him!’ I scolded myself in my mind. I was sure Ryle was not as good-looking or charming as my idol. Even if Ryle was more handsome and charming than the Midnight Wolf, I would still choose my idol for his gentle attitude, unlike the jerk who was now staring at me.

His next words didn't have an impact on me anymore until he mentioned wanting me to apologize for what I did. Crisha's betrayal had left me heartbroken, but I didn't regret my actions. I felt proud of myself for standing up for someone I cared about, even though the outcome was far from what I had hoped for.

"I will never crawl back and apologize for slapping a jerk like you. You deserve it, and I am proud of what I did."

He leaned in close to my ear and whispered something that fueled my anger even more. "Very well. Soon, you'll know who I am in this school."

He then walked away, leaving me alone as people started to disperse, leaving me to fend for myself.

Outside, I found a bench shaded from the sun with not too many people around, giving me a chance to cool off and think about everything happening inside the cafeteria. As I sat there, I took a deep breath, trying to settle the raging emotions inside me. It wasn't easy to make sense of what had just happened, but I needed to collect my thoughts and find a way to deal with the unexpected turn of events.

After spending some time sitting there, I decided to return to my sorority house. However, upon reaching the entrance, I was greeted by my sorority sisters gathered in front, with Lucy leading them. Confusion etched across my face, but I proceeded to enter. Crisha seemed disinterested, not caring to give me a glance. Yet to my surprise, my cousin Thea was tossing my belongings onto the street. In a rush, I bent down to pick them up, and Lorrie, witnessing the scene, hurried over to assist me.

"What the hell is happening here? Why are you doing this?" Lorrie demanded.

Thea ignored her, and the other girls from the sorority joined in carrying my things outside.

“Stop throwing Isobel’s stuff!” Lorrie tried to intervene, but another student pushed her aside.

"Why are you helping this pathetic girl? Don't you know what happened?" Thea sneered.

Lorrie scoffed. "Well, obviously not! Could someone care to explain?"

Lucy interjected into the conversation. "Your friend made a mistake that a student of Silverwolf University should never commit."

Lorrie glanced at me who was still helping her gather my things, then turned her attention to Lucy, expecting her to elaborate.

“Can you just stop beating around the bush and tell me what happened?”

Lucy rolled her eyes. "I don't know where the heck you've been, but earlier today at the cafeteria, this girl, the ugly ginger, messed with the university owner's son, Ryle Vanderberg," Lucy explained.

Dear, goddess! Could this day get any worse?

IsobelLorrie exchanged glances between me and our sorority sisters. I took a deep breath, prepared to hear their perceived versions of the earlier events. The girl behind Lucy spoke, "Ryle doesn't deserve to be slapped like that. Bullying is against the rules. This impolite she-wolf acted barbaric earlier. She doesn't deserve to be part of our sorority. She was probably out of her mind to target a kind guy like Ryle."“Isobel slapped Ryle Vanderberg? But why?” Lorrie asked, still confused. But Lucy was no longer interested in letting me defend myself. Instead, she explained the reason why they were tossing my things out. "As you all heard and saw, this ginger bullied our mighty Ryle Vanderberg. If the school finds out that she belongs to Ep-El, our sorority is at risk of going down. I am sure the owner, Ryle's father, wouldn't let this slide. We will not let our sorority suffer for Isobel Reeve’s stupid action.”With that, the rest of the girls agreed, plastering a grin on Lucy’s fa

Isobel I entered the small restaurant and asked about the job. No one was there, and there were no customers eating. It was early in the morning, and even though the place looked a bit old, it was quite nice inside. It was comfortable for eating or studying. It wasn't fancy like other shops near the university, but it was good enough for someone to eat and spend time with friends. I walked up to the counter and looked at the menu. The prices were reasonable, and the food they offered seemed suitable for students. "Hello? Anybody here?" I called out. It had been a few minutes since I entered to ask about the job. Then, a woman who looked around middle-aged came up. I noticed her face light up when she saw me. "Yes? What would you like to order?" she asked. I smiled awkwardly. "I'm sorry, ma'am, but I'm actually here to ask about the job. I saw the notice outside your door." The woman sighed. "I thought I finally had a customer." She then scanned me from head to toe and continued

IsobelI ignored the photos of myself hanging everywhere and went straight to my locker. But to my surprise, a pile of trash fell on my feet—my locker was filled with trash. Students gathered around me, recording with their phones. Lucy led them, holding her expensive phone and laughing at me."Sorry about that. School is a little dirty, so we decided to clean it. As you know, as one of the student leaders here, I must set a good example for our fellow students," Lucy said, trying to cover up their cruel actions. She then addressed everyone. "Luckily, Isobel Reeve is here to help us."Another girl behind Lucy added, "Don't worry, Lucy, we just put THE TRASH in the right place."Lucy laughed. "You’re right. It's actually a family reunion. Because Isobel here is also trash."Thea, who was also there, added more insults. "She deserves to be on the streets. Where trash belongs."Just then, the garbage juice dropped on my feet.“Ewww! Gross!” they all exclaimed, disgusted by the slimy liqu

IsobelAs Lorrie continued her angry tirade, I started to feel really sad inside. The mention of Crisha's betrayal brought back a flood of emotions, and my mind echoed with the painful reminder of standing up for someone who had ultimately abandoned me. However, deep down, I knew I wasn't angry at Crisha. In fact, I felt sorry for her, understanding that she was also a victim in this situation. I was hurt, but not to the point of hating Crisha. Beneath the pain, I believed there was still kindness left in her. Despite the hurtful words being thrown around, I would never wish for the same thing to happen to her.“Enough, Lorrie! Don’t say such things about her. Crisha is also a victim here.”“What? Are you out of your mind? Clearly, Crisha Cha is the root of all your miseries!”"She's not, okay?” I shot back. Lorrie was furious at how I defended Crisha. I heaved a sigh and explained my perspective. “It's that jerk's fault! Crisha was just manipulated by Ryle. She did things she didn’t

RyleAs I strolled through the school corridor, I heard laughter echoing around. Out of curiosity, I checked what the commotion was about and immediately saw some individuals making fun of my red-headed mate.Koa wanted to intervene; I could feel his eagerness to defend our mate. Clearly, he felt uncomfortable seeing her being humiliated like this.“Move, you jackass! Don’t just stand there and do something.”But instead of panicking, I just shrugged my shoulders. "Relax, Koa. It's just light bullying."Koa didn't like my idea but didn't say anything more. Meanwhile, I watched with amazement. In my mind, I was confident that soon enough, Isobel would crawl back to me, regretting what she did. I smiled, imagining this scenario. As the crowd bullied her, I observed Isobel. I saw how tough and determined she was. The bullying and the crowd saying weird names and even declaring their hate towards her didn’t even make Isobel falter.“Go think of a better plan then. Because it would take yo

  • My Singing Alpha   Chapter 12

IsobelAfter the whole class was paired up, the professor explained the tasks for the activity. Our goal was to present a short summary of the life of a famous werewolf, especially those who played crucial roles in well-known packs. We could also interview various artists or artisans, anyone who had made a name in different industries. After addressing some related questions, our professor dismissed the class. It was thirty minutes earlier than our usual dismissal time, granting us an additional thirty minutes to spend as we pleased before our next class. In my case, I planned to disinfect my locker with bleach, as I had only managed some light cleaning to avoid being late for my previous class. As soon as the professor left, I began gathering my things and headed toward my intended activity. However, Lucy and her group blocked my way.“Where do you think you’re going?” Lucy asked. I took a deep breath out of sheer impatience; her extreme hatred for me was beginning to annoy me.“What

IsobelThe other classes went on as usual. The students continued to be jerks around me, but I was beginning to build some tolerance toward them. After class, I went straight to Mrs. Potts' coffee shop to help. The new equipment arrived today, adding more work to the pile we were both already dealing with. Mrs. Potts couldn't afford to hire more help, so I understood the responsibility that fell on my shoulders. Finally, we were done for the day, and I retreated to my tiny room. I sent Mom a message first before resting, afraid to miss updating her due to exhaustion.I turned on my radio and rested my face on the small desk in front of my bed. I adjusted the volume enough to be heard but not to disturb Mrs. Potts in the other room. Maybe my body was about to give up due to too much fatigue, but that wasn’t an excuse for me to miss Midnight Wolf’s show.“Good evening, everyone. I dedicate this song to those who also had a bad day.”“Woke up this morning with books in my bed,Bad vibes

RyleNight came, and I made my way to the music studio, feeling distracted and down. As soon as I entered, my manager noticed it.“Are you okay, Ryle?”But I just nodded and proceeded to prepare for my radio show. The manager knew something wasn’t right. My usual positive energy and smiling face before singing were absent.“You know, Ryle, everyone has a bad day. You don’t have to perform. Besides, you rarely miss your radio shows. I guess being absent once would not affect your career.”“Sorry, boss, but my fans are waiting for me.”I refused to give up the day from singing. Despite feeling down, I still cared for my fans waiting for my daily show. So I smiled and nodded to my manager to start airing the show.“Good evening, everyone! Welcome again to Midnight Wolf’s daily radio show. To start our show, The Midnight Wolf wanted to dedicate a song to those who are having a bad day.”The manager smiled and gave me the signal to start singing. My first song was about someone who had a b

"So the council members agreed with his delusions, huh?" I inquired, my tone tinged with disappointment. The head advisor nodded solemnly. "I was the only one who disagreed with the matter, Alpha. There's nothing I can do.""I see..." I sighed. My jaw tightened when the news hit my ears. I clenched the glass of scotch tightly before sipping its content in one gulp. The intoxicating liquid burned my throat a little but I didn’t flinch. Because more than the heat that this alcohol was giving me, it was my rage that kept me burning inside. "Letting that kid go would be an utter disgrace to the Vanderberg name. I refuse to tarnish the honor of my father just because of my foolish son."The head advisor offered a word of caution. "But Alpha... Your son appears resolute. It won't be an easy task to dissuade him."I took a sip of my scotch, contemplating the situation. "I know... And I have no one to blame but myself. If only I had taken immediate action against that lowly she-wolf. Perhap

Isobel Finally, the day of the concert arrived, and I found myself standing in line with my friends, eagerly awaiting our chance to see the Midnight Wolf perform live. Well, everyone except Thea, who seemed rather indifferent. "I don’t know why I agreed to this. I don’t even know that dude," Thea remarked, her skepticism palpable. But Lorrie, always the optimist, reassured her, wrapping her arms around Thea's and whispering, "Don’t you worry. Soon, you’re gonna understand the hype." She then turned to me, grinning mischievously, and whispered, "Sissy, once we're out of this concert, I’m gonna convert this dumb lady into a die-hard fan." I couldn't help but chuckle at her enthusiasm, while Thea looked on curiously, demanding to know what was being said. Lorrie smoothly deflected, "Oh forget about it… Just make sure to enjoy this day cuz' once you’re out of here, a new Thea will be born." Scott and I shared a laugh, while Thea, still puzzled, watched Lorrie lead the way, linking a

RyleI summoned an emergency pack meeting, and everyone responded promptly. Their deep respect for me as the alpha heir was evident as we all gathered in the council room, each of us curious about the sudden call.Regrettably, my father couldn't be present; important matters demanded his attention elsewhere. Nonetheless, I steeled myself and proceeded with the meeting. The council members, acknowledging my role as the future Alpha, listened closely, likely expecting news they had been anticipating for some time.Inside the council chamber, the weight of their expectant gazes pressed upon me as I took a moment to collect my thoughts. With a deep breath to steady myself, I began, realizing that this moment was no longer just a vision but a reality I had to confront head-on."Good day, everyone," I greeted them, my voice firm. "I understand this meeting caught you by surprise, and for that, I apologize for any inconvenience."A council member from the Treasury reassured me, "You don't ha

IsobelFinally, things returned to normal. It was just another typical day, but I found myself incredibly thankful for it. My mind and soul yearned for these moments of peace in school—normalcy without worries or commotion, just peaceful studying and enjoying life with friends.“Let’s go grab some lunch with Ryle and Thea,” Lorrie exclaimed, grabbing my arm. Scott walked behind us happily. I shared in their happiness, especially since Thea had finally been welcomed into our group by Ryle and my best friends after a while. As for my bullies, Lucy and the rest of the Blondies, they were kicked out of Silver-U for their actions. They paid dearly for what happened, and even their own packs promised they would be punished accordingly.Without Lucy, Epsilon Elysium was left without a leader. The sorority decided to hold another election for a new leader. In the end, Lorrie unexpectedly won. She was hesitant at first, but eventually, she accepted the privilege.“How’s the new queen of Ep-El?

Isobel"I'll ask you again, child: Do you want to stay here with me?"It was a hard decision for me, but I knew my answer right away. It seemed like Dad understood what I wanted."Are you sure you want to give up this eternal happiness for a world that has only brought you pain and suffering?" Dad's voice echoed, showing his concern.I looked down, agreeing with Dad's point. The world I was born into was full of difficulties. Mom and I lived with shame because of something driven by love and sacrifice, their forbidden union. At Silver-U, I found some comfort among friends and even a wolf who became dear to me. But when I needed them the most, they all left, leaving me to face my problems alone. Pain and suffering seemed to be the only things that stayed with me in the world where I belonged. Despite my longing to be with Dad, his offer, though appealing, couldn't keep me here, not yet. There were things left unfinished, bonds I cherished. Maybe my idea of heaven was different—to be wi

IsobelI opened my eyes and found myself lying in the arms of an elder wolf. The old guy was smiling at me, and strangely, I felt comfortable, as though I knew him from a long time ago. Yet, I was certain we'd never met before. I tried to recall if we had crossed paths, but nothing came to mind. Still, being near him felt oddly warm, filling me with love and peace. As the mysterious wolf stood up and walked away, he beckoned for me to follow. My eyes remained fixed on him, drawn to his presence. When he spoke, his voice held a gentle command."Follow me..."And so, I did. Each step felt like a silent agreement with fate. His smile was reassuring as he guided me forward."Come here, look..."I turned my gaze to where he directed, and before us lay a breathtaking field. It was a scene of unparalleled beauty, one that I couldn't fathom existed. The elder wolf looked at me expectantly, asking a question that resonated deep within me."Do you love it?"I nodded eagerly, feeling a rush of e

IsobelI was left in shock by Kendra’s revelation. Horror coursed through me as I realized the truth. Kendra, whom I had initially seen as a kind angel sent to save me, was something far more sinister. I couldn't fathom that Kendra would stoop to such depths of cruelty. Jealousy, I realized, was a force more terrifying than I had ever imagined. I had always seen Kendra as perfect in everyone's eyes, but now, facing her dark side, I couldn't shake the terror creeping into my heart.Backing away from Kendra, I couldn't tear my eyes away from her as I pleaded, “Why? Why are you doing this to me?”Kendra smirked, her movements deliberate as she closed the distance between us. “Why? You should’ve known the answer, bitch. You took Ryle away from me. I have been with him from the start. You just came out of nowhere and suddenly, Ryle was all into you. You took my world from me.”I watched as Kendra's eyes changed, a chilling indication that she was not joking. I braced myself for what was to

IsobelI couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Kendra in such a place. She was someone I never expected to encounter here, especially after an entire year of not seeing her around school. But in that moment, as the thugs closed in on me, I was grateful for any form of rescue."I know you. You’re one of Ryle’s friends," Kendra uttered, recognition dawning on her face.Ryle’s friend clicked his tongue and retreated, leaving the thugs confused and annoyed. "What the hell are you doing, kid?" one of them demanded as Ryle’s friend made his escape. Another thug approached Kendra, suggesting, "Maybe he wanted to join the fun."The rest of the thugs cheered, their expressions filled with lust and excitement, but Kendra remained unfazed. "That’s the problem with lower-class wolves," she remarked confidently. "The ones who were completely forgotten by society. Fear has forgotten you."The leader of the thugs didn’t appreciate Kendra's boldness and confronted her. "Who the hell are you?" he demand

Ryle I panicked. It was me managing the steering wheel, trying to navigate through traffic as fast as I could. Everyone in the car wanted to get to Epsilon Elysium urgently, but for me, it was more than just a destination. Isobel was there, and I needed to save her from the torment caused by that vile she-wolf who framed her. Regret gnawed at me for not listening to her before, for losing trust in her. "Come on Ryle, I know you can go faster than this," Lorrie said, her concern evident in her voice. "Who said we're on top speed already?" I replied, pressing harder on the accelerator. We surged past other cars on the road, my driving becoming almost reckless in my desperation. Meanwhile, Scott's anger was palpable. "I never thought someone was capable of doing this vile thing. She must be punished for everything," he seethed. Thea, still crying in the backseat, chimed in, her voice thick with emotion. "That she-wolf deserves to be expelled from the school. She must be the one the e
