Chase shook his head and replied, “I wasn’t the one who bought it.”

“Huh?”

The two women were surprised to hear that.

Anna did not really believe him. “You sure keep a low profile, Mr. Collins.”

She suddenly noticed the bag in Chase’s hand, and her eyes brightened. “Do you have cash in there, Mr. Collins? I always hear about how rich people like using cash.”

Before Chase could say anything, she had taken a step forward to take the bag from him. She opened it and looked inside.

Her face turned green instantly.

There was no cash inside. The bag was filled with cans and mineral water bottles. It was dirty and smelled bad.

“It's the garbage I just picked up,” Chase explained. He had no idea whether to laugh or cry at this situation.

“Garbage you picked up?” Anna’s smile froze on her face.

“That’s right.” Chase nodded.

Anna’s expression fell immediately. “After all that confusion, you’re just here to pick up garbage?”

She wiped her hands furiously with a paper napkin as she spok
