The corner of Maria’s lips twitched. She felt like her pride was thrown out of the window when she heard Alvin’s words. Irritated, Maria slapped Alvin’s cheek. Maria’s hand felt hot, her fingers were shaking, her breath was caught on her throat. She looked at Alvin with a sharp gaze.
“I asked you to pretend to be Miller, not harassing me!” Maria’s voice was shaking, then she looked away.

Maria closed her eyes. She tried to control her emotions as she rubbed her face perfectly.

After took a long journey, Maria finally arrived at the Barnet family’s residence. Fortunately Maria had changed her clothes and her stitches which was on her forehead could be hidden with bangs.

Maria felt relieved, she turned to Holly then the two of them looked at each other and smiled.
“Okay, Maria. Go to your room immediately, the servant will come and deliver your wedding dress. It just so happens that your wedding dress is ready.”
Maria nodded obediently, then she and Holly walked quickly to Maria’s room.
“What happened, Miss? Is everything going smoothly, what about Alvin—”

Her steps stopped, both hands still holding the corners of her wedding dress, right behind the main door a figure that resembled Miller was there, and the figure was smirking while looking at Maria with his sharp gaze.
