ARIA’S POV

I didn’t have a great sleep after yesterday’s trauma.

“How is your short vacation going, dear?”

“Excellent… I love it here.”

This morning, my dad calls me asking me if I am alright and how is my short vacation going. I tell him that everything is fine and that I am enjoying myself. There is so much tranquillity in Arizona. My family members do know I am in this part of the States but they don’t know my motive.

Dad and I have a casual conversation and I ask Dad about the situation of our firm and if everything is alright.

“Things are going okay, not yet great as before, but soon everything will pick.”

After hanging up with Dad, my mind starts racing. The conversation with him felt like a reminder that I’m juggling too many secrets—secrets that could explode if handled poorly. The weight of keeping Ethan’s survival to myself is suffocating, but I can’t risk telling anyone yet. Not until I understand what’s really going on.
