ADAM’S POV

“I need to talk to you urgently about the Mitchells.”

Aria’s continued silence gnaws at me. It has been some time now since I tried reaching out, and each ignored call and unread message feels like another knife twisting in my gut. At first, I convinced myself not to contact her, not to stir up more trouble.

I knew the Mitchells were already on edge, their grief and anger over Ethan’s disappearance clouding their judgement. I feared that any attempt to explain myself or clear the air would only provoke them further, potentially putting Aria in more danger. But after what happened when I visited them, I’m not so sure anymore.

I had gone to their house with the best intentions, hoping to calm the waters and explain everything. I wanted them to understand that neither Aria nor I were to blame for what happened to Ethan. However they wouldn’t listen.
