CHAPTER 379

ARIA’S POV

It’s strange how quickly Adam arrived after the envelope was delivered. Almost as if he knew what was coming. He burst through the door, out of breath, with a look of sheer panic on his face. He barely glanced at me, his eyes fixated on the envelope in my hand. It was as if he had only one goal: to get to that envelope before I could open it.

The way he grabbed it from me without any explanation, his hands shaking, and his face flushed—it all felt off. The urgency in his movements, the desperation in his eyes—it was more than just concern. It was fear. And now, that fear has been transferred to me.

What could possibly be inside that envelope that would make him react like this? Adam has always been so composed, so steady. But today, he was a different man, one who seemed haunted by something I couldn’t see. He muttered something about official documents, but he didn’t elaborate. When I asked, he brushed me off, saying it was business-related and that I shouldn’t worry about
