ARIA’S POV

When Adam comes home, I can't wait to tell him about my day. I mention that Regis was here, and we had a wonderful time together. I’m expecting him to be pleased, maybe even relieved to hear that I had such good company.

But as soon as I mention Regis, I notice a change in Adam’s demeanor. His face flushes slightly, and there’s a tightness around his mouth that wasn’t there before. He comments, almost offhandedly.

"Oh, so now he comes to check if we are fine?"
