“Not only the subcontractors, but the executive management.”

As I declare that we are working on cutting the cost of the senior management executives, the room is taken aback. The shock is visible on their faces. I follow this by stating that I will start by stepping down as CEO.

“So, let it start from me.”

I clearly state that right now, our priority should be to save the jobs of our junior staff and ensure they are not affected until the situation improves.

“No! That’s impossible! This is wrong.”

Charlotte's reaction is immediate and furious. She starts protesting, insisting that a company cannot function without a CEO. Her anger flares, and she tries to undermine my proposal, her voice rising with each word.
