Ultimately, I decide against calling Adam or pleading for his assistance to gain entry to The Venture Vista business party as his plus-one. The last thing I want is for Adam to think I am using him as a stepping stone for my success at Wilson Paragon.

There's always the risk that, one day, he might accuse me of exploiting our connection or demand repayment in ways I find unacceptable.
