Deathly silence spread its wings over the town, embracing every corner of it. Apart from the commotion in the hospital behind me, there was no hint of a sound anywhere. I’d occasionally heard the howling of wolves in a distance. Alpha Darren had ordered our pack to get on patrolling in the forest and bring back anyone that might seem suspicious.
