Lucien had not reached out to me yet and didn’t intimate me in the slightest that I should be expecting someone to meet me. In fact, Lucien had no reason to meet me after he left town, since he was pretty angry about how things turned out to be between him and Bella. He had almost given up on her, and it was me that persuaded him to retain some faith and optimism.
I tried to come up with some logical explanation to this stranger’s sudden interest in him, but none came to my mind. Could he be a friend of Lucien’s? In that case, it was most likely that he was a vampire too and I was definitely not safe around him.
