Over the next month, Renee had put together the flowers for the wedding. She had set up a program that allowed you to design a room. She had put the archway on the platform. It was decorated along with the archway outside with white peonies and purple succulents. There was a red carpet going from the archway to the door. There was another red carpet going from the double doors to the platform. Padded chairs were on both sides of the carpet. The carpet had peach rose petals on it. Lights were strung up around the room that were white and blue. There were two vases of flowers on stands. One on each side of the platform holding peach roses, red roses, and white peonies along with ivy.
In the next picture, she had the bridal bouquet. It had peach roses, white peonies, and baby’s breath. There was also a bouquet of silk flowers for Valerie to throw. The bridesmaid’s bouquets were white
Renee hated lying to Kevin. She knew exactly what happened to Billy. Kevin had been trying to wrestle a knife away from Billy at the same time Billy lunged forward. Billy had died. Jesse had become obsessed with killing Kevin after that. Unfortunately, Kevin had started dating her by the time Jesse had executed his plan. He was going to keep her for a while and then kill her. If she hadn’t told him about possibly being pregnant, then she may be dead right now.“Okay. Let’s change the subject. You obviously don’t want to talk about this anymore. We’ve been getting to know each other a little bit. I already know your favorite color is purple. I know your description. Your favorite food is cheeseburgers. Hmm...What is your dream job?”“I wanted to be a veterinarian. I’ve
Renee walked into the living room. She was a little nervous. She was going to talk to Jesse about going on vacation. Planning this wedding had gotten her longing to have a wedding and honeymoon. Since she was ‘married’ to Jesse as Tabitha, she knew that would never happen. But, maybe she could actually have the ‘honeymoon’ part of it. It wasn’t who she wanted it with, but she would settle.“Jesse, can we talk for a minute?”“That doesn’t sound good.”“It’s nothing bad. I was just, um, well, you know I’ve been planning Valerie’s wedding for a few months now. Planning it has gotten me to thinking. I’ll never get to have a wedding of my own or a honeymoon. But, I still want one. Sinc
Jesse looked at the dressing room as the tailor came out. Renee came out behind her and his eyes went wide. She looked gorgeous in the dress. He had never seen her in a dress like that before. Valerie was right. She deserved a wedding and honeymoon. He wished he could marry her as Jesse, not Mark. But, he could at least give her a wedding which is what she wanted. He had to let go of his mistrust completely. Renee had asked him for something she had apparently always wanted. He wanted to show her he loved her. He was going to take her on the honeymoon.Christian reached out for Valerie and she took him as she nudged Jesse and nodded towards Renee. He stood up and walked up to Renee as the tailor made a few quick adjustments to where the dress needed to be redone.“You look beautiful,” Jesse whispered in her ear.&nbs
Renee logged on to her page so she could talk to Kevin. She didn’t know why, but she felt as though she should tell him that she couldn’t talk to him for a week. Since Jesse had announced to her last night that they were going on a honeymoon, she was feeling a twinge of guilt. She should’ve been going on a honeymoon with Kevin. She had always felt guilty about being with Jesse and actually being happy with him from time to time. She felt like she was cheating on Kevin when she had sex with Jesse and actually enjoyed it.She needed to stop talking to Kevin. She knew in her heart that she couldn’t keep this up and put her past behind her and live the life she had now. She had to stay strong so she wouldn’t run away to be with Kevin and put all of their lives in danger. Even though Kevin had told her in his own way that he would and could handle Jesse if he ca
Renee thought of how she had felt when Jesse had firstraped and kidnapped her. Those feelings of hatred stirred backup in her. She felt enraged and saddened. She felt alone andscared. She thought of everything up until this point. She feltconfused. How had she gotten here? How had she come tocare for Jesse and given into him? How in the hell had shecome to have a life with the man that had ruined her own? Shestarted writing, letting it all out.“Alex, I have so much I want to say to you, but I’m sure it will come out as rambling. I don’t really know how to proce
“Marie, I’m glad you reached out to me. Reading what you wrote to me tore my heart to shreds. I felt a stabbing pain with each line. I would have never chosen to leave you willingly. I never wanted to be apart from you. You were my whole world. You still are my whole world. I love you. I have always loved you. I would never choose for you to live with someone else. I wish you would have reached out to me as soon as you were able. I would have come to get you if I had known what was happening. I know everything that has happened is my fault. I’m sorry just doesn’t cut it and I know that. I would spend the rest of my life making it up to you if you would let me.”“I have a son. God, I hate that I have missed his life and yours. I want us to be a family. I understand that you have done what you needed to do to survive. I understand that you have c
The week had flown by and before she knew it, Renee was heading to the airport. She had packed her bag that Jesse had bought for her. He already had his packed. She still wondered when he had done that as she hadn’t even seen him bring the bag in. He had gotten Nancy to watch Christian while they were gone. The only thing she couldn’t find before they left were the wedding bands. She didn’t ask Jesse if he had seen them because she was too nervous to tell him that they were missing. He hadn’t mentioned them either. She was hoping he wouldn’t notice. She would have to lie and say she forgot them and hope he didn’t get pissed off and ruin this trip. They left the car parked in long-term parking and went into the airport. Jesse got their tickets and went to the counter to check in their bags. While he was doing everything, Renee went looking at some of the kio
He was all dressed up. Renee looked him over starting with the crisp white shirt under a black vest. It was short sleeved so it showed off his tattoos on his forearms. Damn, he even had on a tie! The black dress pants hugged his hips and were somewhat loose on his legs. He'd even shined his black dress shoes. His hair was slicked back so it was away from his face and had a shine to it. He looked good. And here she was in underwear and a shirt. She felt really underdressed but he just smiled at her and held out hishand. Renee took it and he led her out to the balcony wherethere was a table with covered dishes, two wine glasses, and abottle of wine being chilled. There was a single rose in a vase in
5 years later A raven-haired beauty with hazel eyes runs up. He smiled as he wrapped her up in his arms. He spun in circles with her in his arms as she giggled. He sat her down onto her feet and looked around at the people in the home. It had been hard the year and a half it had taken for his trial. In the end, it was worth it. It had been hard not being able to be with Renee when he’d been in the same state. She hadn’t come to see him even though he had tried to apologize to her. She never took his calls. His mother had seen her and Christian. She was going to petition for rights to see Christian and she had told Renee that. Renee had politely told her there was no need. All she had to do was tell her first and if they didn’t have anything planned, she was more than welcome to get him. She’d taken pictures of Christian and sent them to Kevin. Some of
“Why would you do that for someone who mistreated you?” “Jesse could be an asshole but he treated me prettygood over time. I loved him and I think he deserves to be withthe only family he ever had. After this is all over, I plan to returnhome, too, so I can raise our child and my son. My child will never know their father other than a grave.” George shook his head. This woman was either crazy or she really did have Stockholm syndrome. He knew she’d been in a car accident at the beginning of the year and suffered a brain injury. Had that affected her judgment that much? He needed to know what happened so he needed to get the body released. They had only held it until the fingerprints came back anyw
“Sarge, you’re going to want to see this,” Nolan said. “What is it, Nolan?” “The fingerprints are back. We had them rushed because of the missing person’s case.” George had found files in Kevin’s car that contained emails between him and a woman named Marie. It also contained a crime report involving him and a woman named Renee Kennedy. The picture showed the same woman that was at the crime scene. He’d taken her fingerprints and that of the victim, Mark Morgan. They had detained Kevin since he was inside the Morgan’s home. It had been a month and neither Kevin nor Tabitha had talked about what had happened in that house. He’d notified Kevin’s mother of what had happened as she was listed as his emergency contact. She’d notified him that he should contact Renee Kennedy
Kevin went to kick the knife out of Jesse’s hand when Jesse opened his eyes and stabbed him in the leg. Kevin cried out at the pain burning up the muscle of his leg. He hit his knees and his hand went to the knife. He pulled it out right as Jesse grabbed his collar and began punching him in the face and the side of his head. Renee didn’t know how to stop the fight. She did the only thing she could think of. She dug her phone out and called 911. “911, what’s your emergency?” “They’re going to kill each other!” Renee cried. “Ma’am, calm down. What’s your name?” Renee ignored her. She rattled off her address as she saw Jesse grab the wrist of the hand that Kevin had the knife in. He twisted the wrist unti
Renee was feeling uneasy after her meeting with Kevin. He was definitely planning something and it scared her. She didn’t want him to get hurt but she also didn’t want Jesse to know he had found them. She was definitely wondering if he already knew. She bit her lip as her thoughts turned to the darker side of how things could go down. “Mommy!” Christian yelled. “I’m sorry, Christian. I was in my thoughts. Did you say something to me?” Renee asked as she drug herself out of the bad thoughts she was having about Jesse and Kevin. “I want to go back. I want Mr. Kevin.” “I’m sorry, Christian, but that just isn’t possible. Your daddy doesn’t know that you aren’t his son. Please, promise me, baby, that you won’t te
“Deal,” Jesse said as he kissed and hugged her. Renee sighed and walked away to find Christian. She’d take him to dinner and a movie tonight. He had been begging to go see Tom and Jerry. Since this was their night, she’d take him out for a happy meal and ice cream too. She wondered if he’d like putt-putt golf. She hadn’t played it since she was little but it might be something he’d enjoy. They could get breakfast, play a couple of games, and then go to the park for an hour or so. With her plans set in her mind, she went to find Christian. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Kevin pulled out his pocket knife and sharpened it. He’dthought about this day long and hard. If he bought a gun, it would be premeditated murder. He sharpened the blade while he t
“What do you mean, ‘thank God you’re awake’? How long have I been asleep?” “Two days. It’s Tuesday. My boss wasn’t thrilled that I missed two days but I explained what happened.” “Where’s Christian?” Renee asked. “I took him to Nancy’s after we realized you weren’t waking up when the nurse came to check on you. You’ve been moaning and thrashing in your sleep every so often.” “Oh. Was I talking in my sleep at all?” “Not while I was awake. Why? Do you remember anything?” “I remember everything,” Renee whispered. “Before or afte
“Will you, um, will you come let the guard rail down? I need to go to the bathroom,” Renee said as her cheeks reddened. “Sure. No need to be embarrassed, baby.” “That wasn’t really what I wanted but I do need to go.” Jesse put the bed rail down and helped Renee up. She leaned on him to catch her bearings. She went to the bathroom and came out. He could tell by the look on her face that she was still confused about what was happening. She regained some of her memories if not all of them, but had she forgotten the ones after the accident? “Do you want to tell me what you really wanted now?” Renee’s cheeks turned red again but she held her arms out.
Jesse sat out in the waiting room with Christian as they waited for the doctors to run tests. Christian had finally settled down and stopped crying. He was sitting in Jesse's lap sucking his thumb. He had started that back up after Renee had been in the accident. Now every time he was extremely stressed, that thumb was back in his mouth. It agitated Jesse somewhat but he let it go because he knew he was trying to comfort himself against what was happening with his mom. It had been hours since Renee had been brought in and no one had updated him yet. Jesse stroked Christian’s hair absentmindedly until he saw the doctor come out. Dr. Getty walked up to him and held out his hand. Jesse took it and shook it. The doctor had a neutral look on his face. “Mr. Morgan, we meet again. I wish it was under better circumstances,” Dr. Get
