Alex pov

Luke!.

My stomach clenched. My world shattering before my eyes.

There, tangled in the white sheets, was Luke, the boy I had given up everything for. My boyfriend was having it with June of all people.

He was lying down on the bed, with June pressed against his bare chest.

I felt like I couldn't breathe well. Why was my lungs not receiving enough air?

And the pain that was coming from my heart. It was so painful and heart-wrenching that all I wanted was to wake up, and everything became a dream.

But the laughter of June was a sore indication that I was not in any dream. She was tracing her hand over lukes bare chest, and he was not doing anything to stop her.

Luke's gaze met mine. And for a split second, something flickered in his expression. But it was not regret like I had expected to see. Nor was it guilt.

It was indifference.

“Alex?” His voice was calm, unbothered, as if I was just some stranger who had walked in at the wrong time. “You are supposed to be at home.”

The thrill of rebellion pulsed through my veins as we sprinted across the campgrounds, skipping the last class of summer camp. It wasn’t just any class, it was the final gathering before everything came to an end. But that didn’t matter now.“Miss Benita needs to get laid,” Jacob, my best friend, grumbled, his breath heavy from running. He pulled out a cigar, lighting it with a flick of his wrist before offering it to me.“Nooo, Remember that I don't smoke,” I smirked, remembering him, for like a hundred times since we started coming into this abandoned closet to stay and have some fresh air devoid of Miss Benita and her serious vibes that follow her.He chuckled, giving me a teasing look. “Come on, Alex. Live a little. It’s our last day of freedom.” His green eyes sparkled mischievously, and despite myself, I found it hard to resist.Okay, but just this once,” I sighed, taking the “nutrient cigar” as he calls it hesitantly. As soon as I inhaled, a violent cough ripped through my ches

Are you hurt?” My mum saw my puffed and red eyes. “It…its…nothing I stammered” to my horror my anxiety that had disappeared since three months I had been in camp, kicked in. “Sweety, pls tell mummy what happened, were you bullied again or harassed…” My

Andrians pov The ride back home had been filled with awkwardsilence, and I was bubbling with anger. “Haven't we reached the damn house!!” I scowled at my driver, Enzo “No master, we are yet to reach” my driver Enzo replies respectfully. “Incompetent fool” I cursed under my breath. I was happy to be done with this stupid mission. My father, out of nowhere, had given me a mission. He had termed it a grade A mission, stressing the importance of the mission. The mission was so simple to be true, I had thought it was a joke, but on reaching the camp, I realised that I was in for the most simplest overrated mission in the wide world. “Get close to Alex” that was his words, before he handed me a heavy portfolio filled with his info, and a picture that will help me recognize him, alas, I didn't need the photo because Alex stuck out like a sore thumb from the rest of the kids. He was a quiet kid, so quiet you wouldn't realise someone was there, and those blue ocean eyes…. “Master w

Alex pov ******3 years later,********* The blaring sound of my alarm rebounded throughout my room. I jerked up in confusion before It took me a moment to realise that it was not the fire alarm, but rather my alarm standing proudly on my bed stand. I grudgingly switched off the annoying piece of device, wondering how I forgot to deactivate it before going to sleep. Today is Saturday, which means no school for me. “Ahhh,” a loud yelp came out from my mouth, followed by thuding sound. My stuff lying all around had tripped me. Perfect “Is everything alright? Alex, our maid Debby, poked her head into my bedroom. “Yeah, all’s good” I gave her a thumbs up, “Your breakfast is ready downstairs,” she added before slipping out like she never came in. Alex pov “Honey you will be late for school!” I heard a voice in my sleep and felt a heavy weight land on me, pressing me to my bed. Ahhh!” I shouted as I opened my eyes to see Linda, my annoying best friend, grinning on top of me. “Wakey wakey, honey! You’re late for school!” she sang in a high-pitched voice, mimicking my mom’s. “Eeww, get off me, you ugly duckling!” I grumbled, shoving her off and sitting up. “Wait, what’s this?” she asked, eyes narrowing as she spotted a picture falling from my chest. Before she could grab it, I snatched it away, heart pounding. “Alright, you’ve overstayed your welcome. I’ll be down in ten minutes,” I said quickly, pushing her out of my room and slamming the door. As soon as I was alone, I let out a sigh of relief. “That was close,” I muttered. If she had seen the picture, I wouldn’t have heard the end of it for at least two weeks. I stared at the photo for a moment, my fingers tracing the edges. It was me and Jacob, smiling like we didn’t

  • My Rival My lover   chapter 5: Cold attitude

Andrians pov It had been three years since I last saw him. Three long, dragging years where I’d convinced myself that the blue-eyed boy from my past had faded into a distant memory, nothing more than an echo in the deepest part of my mind where I had abandoned it. I had moved on, hadn’t I? I’d buried whatever forbidden and unholy feelings I had under the weight of new commitments, and lots of office work, just to take my mind off all the distraction I had allowed myself to be entangled with. I have lots of girlfriend ‘s’ and we were doing okay, the s*x and all the fucking was okay and everything was moving just fine. so I thought until I felt somebody from nowhere hug me from behind. All the control and practice I had built up since three years flew out of the window. The blue-eyed boy, Alex. I knew he’d changed the second I saw him, but I wasn’t prepared for how different he was now to before. He’d gone from that quiet, shy introverted nerd I once knew to a completely different p

After the horrifying episode in the hallway with Andrian, I refused to accept that Jacob, or rather Andrian, could do this to me. my brain could not still process what had happened. This was supposed to be my first day of college, the most memorable day for me, the day I’d been waiting for, but as it was already the most confusing and horrible day of my life. it was already ruined. I tried to focus on the teacher’s voice and tried to make sense of the scribbled notes on the board, but all I could see was Andrian's cold indifference face filled with disgust and coldness. Andrian. Jacob. Or whatever his real name was. My mind replayed that moment over and over, the look in his eyes, the cold indifference in his voice. It made my chest ache, like a part of me was breaking from the inside out. I could barely sit still in class, staring blankly at the board, while that familiar feeling of

  • My Rival My lover   Chapter 72: Strange party

Alex pov ‘D7 Avenue’ is the name of the street Luke had told me that the party was being held at. It's not like he told me directly. He mentioned it when he was practically forcing me to come. Immediately I alighted from the taxi, it was not difficult to spot the only house in the street that actually looked like a castle. It loomed at the far end of the street. That must be the house of the Elite that hosted the party. And I was right. “Your gate pass” a deep voice stooped me from my gnawking. “Ohh, gate pass?” I asked, looking at the burky and huge bouncer who was not looking so happy with me. like I was an annoying fly. “Are you joking with me?” he scowled at me. His eyes peered at me in suspicion. Luke didn’t mention anything about gate pass. I had thought it was an all Elites party, but apparently, it's not. But it can't hurt to try. “I am an Elite, I forgot my pass at home” I lied, hoping it would work. “You think I am joking, right? How can an elite come with a cab

Alex pov“I know you are feeling it, Alex, that's why you have not run away like a scaredy cat.”Where was this going, and what was he talking about feelings?. I stared dumbly at him, trying to figure out if this was really happening. Something about him, the prodigy felt familiar, like we have been close before. It was confusing, and for a while, I thought I had gone mad.“Look at me,” he said, raising my chin up to meet his piercing gaze. Something about that movement felt like it was the most natural thing in the world. What was wrong with me?. I screamed at myself internally to push him off, and ran back home, but my other side, the other side that had come out during the explosion, when I was with Andrian…Wait, Andrian, that feeling…“Let me show you something,” the music prodigy said softly, going for his mask.My eyes widened as I was surprised at his actions. Was he removing his mask? There was a story that nobody has ever seen the prodigy face before. It was always a hot t

  • My Rival My lover   Chapter 70: The confession

Andrian pov March 13th, 20XX “The Davidsons are becoming too much of a threat. Their influence is spreading like wildfire, and their connections are unsettling. If left unchecked, they could ruin everything we’ve built.” That was part of what was written in the journal. It was talking about Alex and his family. I slammed my hands on the horns, swerving hard to avoid hitting a phone boot at the side of the road. I couldn’t just stop thinking about what this revelation could mean… “The lights turned red, but I didn’t stop, I was too engrossed in myself to care. I pressed the accelerator harder than I should have. There was only one place I could go now, somewhere that didn’t feel like a constant reminder of my father’s lies or my own guilt. Her place. The siren of the police at my back didn't bother me. Nor did I as much as spare them a glance. My mind was still reeling from what I had read. They have assembled. given the order. It’s not a decision that was made lightly, but it

Alex povI felt electricity travel from where he grabbed me up the way to my spine. Before I could react, I felt myself being dragged by him into an empty classroom.“What the fuck andrian,” I screamed at him. As he locked the door with a click. “You left for two weeks,” was the only word he said.“Yes cause I didn't want to set my eyes on you” I glared at him. I couldn’t even believe I was talking to him. Not after everything.“I am leaving” I announced, making to leave, but andrian blocked my way, grabbing my hand.I felt the same tingle from earlier on immediately creep in. I withdrew my hand as fast as I could.“What do you want from me, andrian!,” I asked, my anger rising at the moment. “You were hiding from me, isn't it” andrian ignored my outburst, smirking at me. “That's why you never picked up my calls.”Calls?, I was momentarily taken aback at what he said. But who cares? This is Andrian we are talking about. A manipulator and a liar. Luke's words floated in my mind. I w

  • My Rival My lover   Chapter 68: Guilt

ALEX POVTwo weeks laterIt has been almost two weeks since the fire incident. The eatery was razed to the ground. And until today, the culprits were nowhere to be found. I got up from my bed, fighting the urge to lie down again, despite today being the day of school. For the past month, I have not gone to school.I still felt that it's because of what happened at the induction that came biting back at me. My mother Viper and everybody had tried to comfort me , even promising to build another eatery for Mr. White, but all to no avail. The guilt was still there. I sighed, not bothering to check my phone for fear of seeing a lot of missed calls and messages, the majority from linda, and Luke. I had also seen an unknown number call me, but I hadn't picked any one of them.“Honey, how are you feeling today?” My mother smiled brightlyI nodded, not having the urge to talk much. I went to the kitchen managing a slice of bread to keep my mother from talking and bidding her goodbye. I went

Alex povThe ground shook beneath us, and the sky lit up with a fiery glow as the sound of shattering glass and panicked screams filled the air.I pushed Andrian away, my heart racing for an entirely different reason now. “What the hell was that?”He didn’t answer, his eyes fixed in the direction of the explosion. For the first time, I saw genuine fear on his face, and it sent a chill down my spine.“Andrian?” I prompted, my voice trembling. He turned to me, his expression unreadable. “We need to leave. Now.”Noo, I need to know what happened” I insisted. I shoved Andrian away from me, my breath hitching as I turned toward the source of the chaos. My heart sank like a stone as I saw it, the source of the explosion. The eatery I’d worked at for years was engulfed in flames.“No,” I whispered, the word barely audible over the crackling fire. My feet moved before my brain could catch up, carrying me toward the burning building.“Alex, stop!” Andrian’s voice rang out behind me, but I ign

He looked as perfect as ever, the scarf had draped off his neck, I saw myself fighting the urge to point it out. What was wrong with me?.I crossed my arms, narrowing my eyes. While we entered into a staring contest. Him staring at me like I was out of my mind. His smirk returned, though it didn’t hold the same bite. Instead, there was a glimmer of something almost playful in his eyes. “You're more stubborn than I thought,” he said, his tone dripping with something that sounded like admiration. “Fine, you caught me.”I blinked, caught off guard by his easy admission. “Caught you doing what?”“Stalking you.” His voice was light, teasing even, but it didn’t match the heat in his gaze as he took
