Physically Attracted

An awkward silence ensues in the room as Emily rubs the cotton silk fabric of my loungewear in her hands.

“Come, let me show you to the bathroom,” I say, leading the way and her soft footsteps follow behind me.

I know a lot of thoughts are going through Emily’s head at the moment but soon, she will come to understand that this is my way of teasing her. I deliberately took these subtle actions, hinting at something I had no plans about.

“The housekeeper has already drawn a bath for you,” I say to Emily as I dip two fingers into the bathtub. “And it’s warm.” I turn to her, straightening my back. “You should take a bath now.”

“Thank you, Mr—I mean, Christopher,” Emily thanks me, meeting my gaze as heat rise to her cheeks. She looks like she’s looking for a way to tell me to leave, but I’m actually unbothered and pretend not to know.

I go on to show her a few things and finally, when I have nothing else to talk about, I leave her to go on with her bath.
