A Hearty Dinner

Dad chatted with Grandpa Moore and Christopher’s uncles for a bit before leading everyone to the dining room and somehow, I ended up sitting next to Christopher.

Actually, it wasn’t a coincidence since my best friend Tessa decided to play some tricks just to make it happen, and I have to thank her for the opportunity.

“Now that that’s done,” she said with a mischievous grin, “let’s go for a swim.”

“A swim?” I raised an eyebrow. “Where?”

Tessa’s smile grew wider. “You’ll see. I have a surprise.”

Before I knew it, we were heading into an elegant hotel nearby, one of her mother’s properties. Tessa greeted the staff like an old friend, and within minutes, we were at the private indoor pool.

The pool area was stunning, with warm lighting that reflected off the still water, casting gentle ripples of light against the walls.

“I thought a little relaxation would do us good,” Tessa said, grinning as she handed me a swimsuit. “Come on, let’s swim a few laps!”
