CHAPTER THIRTY TWO

—JASMINE

As I slowly open my eyes, I'm greeted by a darkness so thick it feels like a physical presence.

The smell of something rotten hits my nose and I get nauseous immediately.

With my hand over my nose, to keep that horrid smell out, I try to move, but a sharp pain shoots through my body like a thousand knives stabbing me at once and it causes me to cough.

I start to cough and realize the place is empty and is echoing my every sound.

My body's slumped on the harsh concrete floor, the chill of it seeping into my skin and bones like a cold mist.

I can feel my skin recoil at the icy touch, like a thousand tiny pinpricks.

With a surge of adrenaline, I force myself to get up and to start moving, pushing my hands out in front of me like a blind person feeling their way through the darkness.

I almost start sobbing when I recall the man in the yard who abducted me.

How the hell did they get into the main pack house?
