I do not plan to spend the rest of my day with those old men who call themselves elders of the pack when my Jasmine is in heat and will one way or another admit to me that she is and give into it. The thought of being confined in a stuffy room with them, listening to their outdated opinions and criticisms, makes my skin crawl. I'd rather be with Jasmine, feeling her warmth and surrendering to our primal desires.

"I do not need another fucked up meeting," I snarl at Ezra, who's watching me with a mixture of concern and understanding.

Ezra sighs, his expression a familiar blend of frustration and loyalty. "You can't ignore them, alpha. They'll only get more agitated if you blow them off."

I pace around the living room, my mind consumed by thoughts of Jasmine. I can sense her desire calling to me, and I know she's struggling to resist. I need to be with her, to claim her and make her mine.
