Cora’s POV

My knees shaking, walking back to the car… Tears start to fall as I see my son’s face, his eyes are fluffy and red, and even his nose. I don’t know what to do now, words linger in my mind. Everything Ash said keeps repeating in my ears.

“He fell asleep while waiting for you, he keeps crying and asking what is wrong but I don’t know what to say so…” He explains without me asking anything, those eyes looking at me as if he is asking what happened.

“He’s asking if Clyde is his son,” I said, “no, from the very start he knew that he’s the father of my son.” I look at my trembling hands that holding each other tightly. “I deny it with all I can but there is nothing more to put in secret.”

“Shh, let’s go home. Let’s talk after we arrive there, you don’t have to force yourself here.” He guides me inside the car, putting the seatbelt with gentleness. “Let’s go,” he gives me an assurance smile like he’s telling me that he will stay by my side and everything will be fine.
