Amber's pov:

In the blink of an eye, he pins me to the wall, my hands above my head, and my toes on their tips. He kisses me, both his hands on mine, holding them up. Our tongues dance together until his phone rings.

I feel dizzy as he pulls away. He cuts the call, and whispers in my ear, “Bye, Tesoro, I’ll be back soon.” He walks out of the door, then, pokes his head back in to say, “Pick it up.” I look down only to realize that my towel is on the floor. Now, I need another shower, a cold one.

Alessandro texts me to let me know that he has reached Romano while I’m engrossed with my work at the art gallery.

The next day’s lunchtime arrives. Bianca has holidays this week, so I’m glad to have some company. Some bodyguards surround the whole house, and security has been increased for my art gallery errands as well. “Hey, Bee, I’ll be right there for lunch,” I tell her as she scrolls through her phone while being seated at the table.

I quickly change into Alessandro’s “favorite” PJs,

Amber had no plans of moving a muscle even when Dante’s voice reached her ears. She was frozen in the position. “Amber, I know exactly how to access that hidden spot, so I suggest you crawl out of there yourself, or else I’ll have to drag you out by your hair,” Dante growled. He was ruthless. Amber didn’t budge, she was too afraid to move. “Don’t tell me I didn’t warn you,” Dante said before unlocking the door. The open door exposed him to a very afraid Amber. His face carried a serious expression. “Get up,” he warned with his tone, and she had no choice but to oblige. She was still hiding the loaded gun under her top, but she was unsure of what to do with it. She slowly walked toward Dante, he said, “Faster, I don’t have all day.” Amber knew that it would be best to waste time, so she asked while standing in place, “Have I seen you before?” Dante said, “Maybe you have, maybe you haven’t, doesn’t matter, walk.” Amber didn’t budge, she wanted to question, but she was aware that

Their eyes never left each other. Alessandro and Amber recalled all the beautiful moments that they had shared; each moment was filled with passion and emotion. “Alessandro,” Amber’s trembling lips whispered, “Thank you.” He could make out what she was saying, so he shook his head, and said, “No, thank you.” They thanked one another for various reasons; ones which were connected to their mind and souls. “Both of you make quite the pair,” Dante said as he noticed their exchange of words. In between, he received a call, he stepped out of the hall after ordering his men to stop. “Listen to me carefully, I need you to spin a web of lies to create a phony trail which will lead to her doom and eventually, that of his as well,” the voice on the other end of the call said. “But-” Dante was cut off with, “No if’s or but’s, you will do as I say. Alessandro deserves to live a little longer…There’s some more pain that I’d like to give him before he’s completely wiped off the face of the Earth

“Alessandro, open your eyes.” “My child, wake up.” Alessandro’s eyes open and he sees his father in front of him. “Where are we?” Alessandro asks him as he sees the white light surrounding them. His eyes fail to register what’s in front of him, all he sees is a hazy image of Amos. “We’re somewhere in the middle, my son. Listen to me carefully,” Amos’s voice is loud and clear. “Alessandro, you’ve been through enough…Live for her, my son. She is all that you need; she’s your angel,” Alessandro hears his Papi speak, but he can’t see him. “My death turned you into the monster that you were afraid to turn into, but she’s here to pull you into the light, give into her. Allow yourself to feel the happiness,” Alessandro feels Amos’s arms on his shoulders. “But, what if she leaves me?” Alessandro asks, paranoid. “There are chances at all times, but the choice is in our hands, if you choose right, then she will never leave you, my son,” Amos’s voice reverberates in his ear. “I miss you

A knock on the door interrupts Amber and Alessandro’s kissing session. Alessandro grumbles as Amber goes to check out who it is. She is greeted by a man who introduces himself as Ivan Flavia, and Alessandro allows him to come inside. Ivan sits at the end of the bed and says, “Alessandro, Dante has sent this piece of paper for you and only you. Not even Harlow has seen it, he advised that you see it in solitude.” Alessandro thanks Ivan and asks him to leave. She walks towards the bathroom. “I need to take a shower, a cold one,” she says before stepping into the bathroom. Alessandro opens the crumbled piece of paper, and it reads: Two birds hate one another but unite to take out the enemy together. Alessandro understands the hidden meaning, but this is not enough to put his finger on the people, but now, he was sure of the fact that there were two people involved in the crime. The next day, Amber lets Alessandro know that she has to head toward the gallery, and he makes the neces

Amber’s pov: The shooting session went well, I feel great after firing for the first time. The power that rushes through your veins should not get to your head, Alessandro told me that, and I shall keep that in mind. He is off to work; trades, business meetings, and whatnot. I have the day off, and he has given me the chance to pick a place for lunch, we’ve already gone to the cafe…Mhm, let me pick something that is in his favor. I cannot bother Bee, so that leaves me with Harlow. I gave him a call…No response. Over the past week, he and I had bonded over Alessandro, and snarky punchlines, he is fun to be around when you’re in his good books. My phone rings. “Amber? What do you want?” He questions. “The name of Alessandro’s favorite restaurant…” I utter without a stutter. “JHgsnfj,” he responds. “What?” I question unable to comprehend what he said. “Hsnrjek,” he said this time, and I just waited to assume that it was a poor connection. “Okay, bye!” He cut the call, and I planted

Alessandro gulped as she turned around to meet his gaze. She rested her feet on the floor of the pool, only half her body was submerged as she walked towards him with a smirk on her face. He was curious as to what she would do, her innocent face piqued his curiosity. His back hit the wall, and the water level was now below their thighs. Alessandro couldn’t help but pull her close to him. He grabbed her behind as they kissed passionately. Then, she pulled away and started trailing kisses down his neck, collarbone, and abs. Taking her time just to torture him as he groaned. Then, she teased his sensitive spot until he pulled her up to meet his lips again. Then, she went lower and lower, and she took her time to make him feel euphoric with her magic despite her lack of experience. Alessandro’s pov: I wake up and see the beautiful woman next to me. Last night, I saw a side of her that she has hidden from the rest of the world. She satisfied her hunger and lust by using me. The redne

FLASHBACK Thirteen Years Ago “Bambino, isn’t this peaceful?” Bella Bianchi asks fifteen-year-old Alessandro. Amber’s pov: I hear Alessandro hum as he walks out of the bathroom with a toothbrush in his mouth. I chuckle and that catches his attention. He rushes back into the washroom, goes on about his unfinished business, and then comes out. “Tesoro, I missed you,” he kisses me. His breath is minty and cool. “It’s just been two hours since I’ve been out of your sight,” I manage to say between his gentle pecks. “There’s something that I would like to discuss,” he says, his tone dropping from bubbly to serious. “Sure, what is it that you’d like to discuss?” I ask him. He takes a seat on the bed next to me. “The one time that we spoke about children, you told me that you didn’t know what you wanted with them. I’d like to ask you the same question now…” he doesn’t look into my eyes as he speaks. “I would like to have children, but someday in the future, as of now, the art gallery is my baby, our baby,” I tell him, my hand wrapped around his shoulder. “I’m glad to know that we’re on the sam

Two Weeks Later Alessandro’s pov: “And done!” I hear Amber exclaim behind me as she drops the last box on the floor. “Mrs. Bianchi, you sound like you did all the work,” I tease her hoping to receive a sassy response. “I did a lot of work,” she exhaled sharply. “I mean, three boxes and three steps are a lot,” I tell her. She groans and strikes a pat on my back. I chuckle. Then, I turn around and say, “I can’t believe we made it.” Amber stands next to me and intertwines our digits. "Me neither," she utters. "We certainly made the right choice," she says. I nod. My eyes roam to the kitchen counter. "I can't wait to see you on top of that counter," I utter making Amber roll her eyes, saying, "And there goes the moment." I chuckle. She picks up the box and walks up the stairs to settle things around the place. At the housewarming ceremony, when Richard mentioned Maria's house in Canoli, I knew that we had to check it out, but I never knew that it'd turn out to be such a blessing.

Amber’s pov: Alessandro pulls over and I tilt my head scanning the location. “This place looks like it was artificially created using a hologram,” I tell him as he unfastens his seatbelt. He does mine as well. “Uh-huh,” he says as he steps out of the vehicle. “Is this place yours?” I question as we walk towards a tiny cabin hidden amongst tall trees. “No,” he says, taking my hand in his. Alessandro knocks on the door. He intertwines our fingers. A middle-aged woman opens the door, greeting us with a smile. “Amber, this is Anna Solem. Anna, as promised, this is my wife, Amber Bianchi,” Alessandro says. “Anna, it’s so nice to meet you,” I smile at her, “How is everything now?” I question. “It’s fine, my sister, Maria Rosela, is doing much better,” she explains, “Now, now, this place is for sale since Maria’s planning to move out of the country. However, it seems like no one wants to live in an isolated area of the island, because despite being for sale for the past month, it hasn

How’s Richard?” Alessandro asks. Anna replies in the positive. They converse for a few more minutes before the call ends. “Tesoro,” Alessandro rings up Amber. “Yes, my love?” She replies. Alessandro’s lips curl into a soft smile. “Anna Solem is hosting a housewarming party and she has invited us..” Alessandro is cut off as Amber says, “Can Bee come with us?” Alessandro replies, “I’ll ask her.” Amber feels relieved and worried at the same time. “Don’t worry, Tesoro, it’ll be alright,” Alessandro assured her. “Harlow, regardless of all that had been going down behind the scenes, you have always been a good brother to me. I always looked up to you and learned so much from you. These twenty years have been one hell of a ride of emotions…” Alessandro lets out a sigh, “And I’d hate for you to die.” Harlow scoffs. “Even after all that I’ve done, you’re trying to make it seem like I’m not the bad guy, this is another reason why you were never a successful capo,” Harlow utters. Alessandro shakes his head, then says, “Maybe I was never meant to be one, Harlow.” Alessandro holds Harlow’s reluctant hand in his for a few seconds and then rests it back on his chest. “Goodbye, brother,” Alessandro utters and walks back to Amber. They then drive back home. On the way back, the taxi ride is filled with silence until Alessandro’s phone rings. “Ken?” Alessandro mutters. “Harlow had infiltrated your security system in every possible way, but I’ve got it back on track now, you and Amber have a great securi

Alessandro pulls her closer, but the closeness isn’t enough, not after all these days of separation. “Tesoro,” Alessandro whispers, “How’re you?” “I’m fine now, Alessandro. Now that you’re by my side…” Amber sniffles. Tears cloud Alessandro’s vision as he buries his head in the crook of Amber’s neck. “My heart nearly stopped as Harlow blurted those words, Tesoro,” Alessandro uttered. “Lucky for you, I’m still alive,” she chuckles as she pulls away from Alessandro’s embrace. He wipes her tears away and she does the same for him. “Let’s wrap this up,” she utters as she walks close to an injured Harlow. Alessandro walks close to Harlow and glares at him. Harlow, as expected, laughs, his laugh echoing through their ear walls. “Both of you are equally pathetic, emotional fools, perfect for one another, truly a match made in heaven and hell

What if he- My what-ifs are cut off as soon as Harlow pushes me one final time and I feel the water at my feet. “Why?” The only question that can leave my lips. I should’ve asked dad that when he assigned you, the younger brother, the role of capo when I was far more capable,” Harlow utters. I remain calm as he continues, “Alessandro Bianchi, the capo of the Bianchis…Ever since father uttered those words, I was set on proving him wrong, but how unfortunate is it that he died before he could understand anything?” “Alessandro, before you stands not only the one who separated you from the love of your life for the
