“I Love Drama”

As I sat in the back of the car, I stared out of the window as nostalgia hit me. It was like I never left. I could remember everything like it was yesterday.

Our favorite coffee shop, restaurant, and even park. I could picture ourselves lying on the grass and staring at everyone else doing their own thing.

I missed the feeling and I wanted to feel that way again. Maybe my coming back would bring all my wishes to life.

“Mom.” My son, Kendall called, stretching his cookie box out to me. “Please, open it.” He said excitedly, causing me to smile widely.

I opened the box and handed it over to him before taking my time to stare at him. I was glad Anne reached out because I finally had a chance to answer all of Kendall’s questions.

He often asked who his daddy was, and why he wasn’t living with us, and he could even ask if his daddy loved him. If only he knew that his father had no idea that he existed.
