Nox POV

When I first spotted Conan running away, I thought that he was afraid of the fight and trying to go hide himself.

The idea that he was a coward filled me with such revulsion and fury like I had never known. Because he was Keira's Gamma. Basically, he was her bodyguard when her wolf was unavailable. Which was most of the time.

If he ran from battle like he was doing right now, how could he stand with her? How could he fight with and for her?

"Aaaarrrgh!" I roared, charging after him like a deranged beast.

Only when I entered the foyer of the main building did I realize what he meant to do. He was rushing inside to his Luna. Not to go hide, but to inform her of the battle.

I had just entered the grand reception area when he vanished through a door. His deputy bravely jumped in front of me to stop me from going any further. Sweat poured down his brow, indicating his terror of me. But he didn't back down.

My Beta came out of nowhere and dove for him, tackling him to the ground

Nox POV She jerked as I lifted her into my arms. I thought she would wake up. But her eyes remained close, and she seemed to press her body closer to mine. My heart thumped fiercely. My insides boiled in a rage and anxiety. I was alarmed by how limp she was and outraged by the mark on that intimate spot at the crook of her neck. She and Liam were in such great terms, huh? They'd made up so hard that she let him mark her? These were very fresh! Not from when they newly got married. The two older males rushed closer. I bared my teeth, snarling to keep them away from her. They skidded back, holding up both hands. Felix began talking rapidly. He motioned down the hall, gasping, "This way. We need Doctor Glass. You need to have them get Doctor Glass!" Soon, we entered the nearest chamber, which was nearly empty except for a large desk and two chairs. "Go get her then," I barked. "The Doctor Glass." The other elder ran straight to the wall phone. Meanwhile, it occurred to me that

  • My Luna with the Sleeping Wolf   Dream or real

Keira POV The hallway was pitch black. That was odd. How could they turn off all the lights on such a special day? It was my thirteenth birthday. I was the Alpha heir and my wolf has just awakened, waiting for its time to emerge. My sight was great, but as my wolf was still young, it wasn't matured enough to pierce the darkness. "Who's there?" I called. "Daddy, the lights are off!" But my dad wasn't nearby. He was in a meeting at the pack grand hall. My friends were all in the living room, dancing and squealing with delights at the clown's jokes. I was missing the fun. Why did I come out here again? Someone called my name. The voice sounded like Zoey Faust's, that was why I left my party. Zoey was a good friend of the family. She was from the line of the Beta's and married into a warrior's family. Her husband died long ago, leaving her with a daughter who was inside enjoying herself right now. "Mrs Faust?" I called out. No answer came. Daddy told me to be nice and respectful to

  • My Luna with the Sleeping Wolf   Odd guest and g-string

My husband had not returned from his quick drink. It was a few minutes before 8:30. I couldn't call his cellphone because he left it in the bedroom, so I sent an omega to go get him. They didn't find him at the mini bar where I assumed he would be. Maybe he'd gone into his study to do a bit of work. It was hard to understand how a playboy could so quickly turn serious about life in general. He became a workaholic right after we got married. Whenever I thought about it, I felt proud of myself that I'd inspired such a good change in him. Not everyone could turn a ladies' man into a serious businessman. However, I got frustrated sometimes with the fact that took the business far more seriously than our marriage. Granted, ours was an arranged union, but I expected to be a priority in his life. I was his mate and wife. And today was very special. How could he think to work? With my pretty dress and makeup, I left the room to go fetch him from his study by myself, snatching his suit jacke

Nox POVLuna Keira Gray. Wife and mate of Alpha Liam Rudd. A twenty-three year old woman who was unavailable. Married! From the panties hanging on her finger and the look on her face, it was clear that she was having a busy life, indeed.Moments ago, when I walked in and our eyes met, my wolf growled,'Mate,' calling out to her.But she'd looked away. I tried to do the same now, looking everywhere else but at her. I failed. She'd acted like she was deaf to her mate's call. Or did she not hear? No, that couldn't be right. She was pretending. Which was Understandable because this was bizarre. How could we be fated? All of her attention was now on the blond werewolf who was her husband and Alpha.A dignitary from the Summer Moon stood in front of me, talking. I tried my hardest to pay attention and offer the appropriate response. Two could play this game, though not for long. • My Luna with the Sleeping Wolf   Lycan's oblivious mate

Keira POV At his words, I stopped dancing. Or tried to. His powerful arms and body kept moving, urging us both to the rhythm of the music. "What does that mean? What could there possibly be between us?" I looked around, afraid that someone might have heard. I considered forcing him to stop the dance. Thankfully, nobody had their eyes on us. He could refuse and it was better not to attract attention, so I moved with him. "I would think you're too sophisticated for games, Luna." "What games? I have no idea what you're talking about," I replied calmly. He looked down at me and arched a brow. "Hold on, you think there's something betweeb us because I looked at you? Everyone looked at you when you walked in, Alpha Nox. Does that mean you have something going on with them?" He frowned as though confused, then said in a low voice. "I'm talking about you and me." He was almost inaudible. "I'm talking about what you felt when you laid eyes on me for the first time." I tried to stop

  • My Luna with the Sleeping Wolf   The empty hallway

Keira POVThe world stopped when his lips touched mine. I was no longer Keira Gray of the Spring Moon. Neither was I wife and mate to Alpha Liam. I was no one but a woman ready to be claimed by a powerful lycan beast. Not even his taunts could bring me back to my senses as his fangs caressed my lips. My body was at his command. Before I knew it, I was sandwiched between him and the wall as his tongue tangled with mine. Then he began to slow down, his lips freeing mine. Only then did my senses slowly return. What the hell was I doing? Letting another Alpha kiss me in my own home? At my wedding anniversary. I was appalled with myself as I pushed him off of me. His brow creased, and his eyes narrowed as he murmured thoughtfully,"Something's wrong with your wolf.""Get out," I barked breathlessly. "This is an assault. You would love a war, won't you? Get out!"The fact that he just spoke my secret out loud was not as threatening as what he just made me do. Apart from pack elders and L

Keira POV Though his accusations were true and I should be trying to explain myself, I couldn't help but feel irritated by his tone. He walked very close beside me now. When I didn't acknowledge his complain, he grabbed my arm making me stop. His eyes were bright with annoyance, which surprised me a little bit. The fact that he had just cursed didn't escape my notice. In all the times I'd known him as my partner, he'd never used the F word in front of me. "Yes, Liam," I said. "I reek of another wolf. What did you expect? " He frowned, confusion creasing his smooth face. Yesterday, I may have cared how he felt right now. But things were different today. He was to blame. "I begged you to put work aside for this one morning..." "That doesn't explain the scent all over you, Keira!" I wanted to bark that it does but simply shook my head in exasperation. If he hadn't disappeared, that kiss would not have happened. It was his fault. "Where the hell did you go?" I asked. "I was looki

  • My Luna with the Sleeping Wolf   An evening surprise

Sometime later, I woke up in my bed in the chamber that I had Yara prepare a few days ago. Not the other master's bedroom. It was late in the afternoon. Aria had long retreated back to sleep. When I looked out the window, I was confused for a moment, thinking that it was the morning of the next day. As usual, I'd fallen into deep slumber for a few hours when my wolf went into hibernation. I was awake now and had returned to being just Keira, the weak Luna.I rushed out of bed and went to the bathroom. As I washed up, the events of the night and this early morning flooded back. The rage festered inside me for all that happened. My anger over Nox's absence was mixed with a longing that left me frustrated. I stared in the mirror at my neck, letting my fingers brush the two dark imprints that was Liam's mark. They were small and not quite bright but not invisible. At some point in our marriage, I had decided that the husband was one of those male wolves who did not put their mark on a fe

  • My Luna with the Sleeping Wolf   The assault

Keira POVThe night is not going as I pictured it. I had gotten Liam's signature on all of the documents where they needed to be. But the head of the Elder's Council was missing, and I couldn't secure his notary. According to his omega, he went out in the afternoon and was not back yet.Not only that. Nox did not show up! I spent the whole night in the woods at the place where we were supposed to meet. But there was no sign of the Lycan. At some point, I'd foolishly began to worry, wondering if something happened. I imagined that the Midnight Moon may have realized that their head doctor was in danger. They may have brought battle to his pack to rescue their own. These thoughts threatened my resolve to keep hating him. I had to quickly return to my senses. Alpha Nox was the enemy, I kept repeating this to myself to keep my head straight. His reason for not showing up was clear. He was playing games. He did not want to give me the satisfaction of knowing for sure if we were fated or

  • My Luna with the Sleeping Wolf   After dark 2

Nox POVPlan B was that we would invade and subdue all of Keira's warriors first. Then I would deal with her after I had taken her pack and murdered her piece-of-shit husband.'Alpha?' 'We'll...' She stopped pacing, causing me to forget what I was about to say. Then she looked in my direction as if she sensed something. Even from such a distance, I could scent her anger and anticipation. She was eager for things to get moving between us. She was highly impatient. Something distracted her, and she looked away from where I hid. Then she swiftly turned around and raced deeper into the pack. I followed her with silent paws.It was her Gamma, Conan, who called her attention.Theo followed me quietly and stayed well hidden.'Alpha, we're two minutes behind time on the plan,' he informed me.'We retreat,' I stated gently.'What? Like... no fighting tonight?''Yeah. No fighting. We'll come back another time.'*****I followed Keira still, keeping a good distance between us. She roamed her

Nox POVMy feet were as silent as a wild cat approaching its prey. I was close to Spring Moon borders now. My Beta and other warriors lurked all about the woods, waiting for my orders.I stopped and let my senses roam the place first. Keira's warriors were also nearby, but it's not like they were ready for battle. They were merely alert and doing their usual patrol work, making sure there was no trouble near their land. If I moved any closer, one of them could see me. Then I would have to kill him so that he didn't announce my presence.Fortunately, my meeting point with Keira was supposed to be near the borders and not deep inside Spring Moon lands. So I could watch for her from where I stood.I knew what she planned to do. Once she had done it, Theo and my guys would get my signal to invade her pack. She already thought the worst about me. There was no reason not to surpass her expectations tonight. She would learn just how cruel and greedy I could be since that was her impression o

  • My Luna with the Sleeping Wolf   After sunset

Apparently, Liam felt so much larger than life now. He failed to realize that I could make him suffer immensely in that nine hours when the full moon would be visible in the sky. This was proof that he thought me completely useless and weak. And totally at his mercy. After breakfast, I got my cellphone and turned it on, expecting to see missed calls from Alpha Nox. There was none. I guessed he got my message last time. He truly was keeping his distance until we met tonight. That was a good thing. However, I couldn't stop checking my cellphone and willing him to call. I wanted him to confirm our meeting, which was set for after dark. No call came. Male werewolves went crazy in the full moon. I had never seen a Lycan in the full moon, but I'd heard stories. They were ten times worse, according to the rumors. The day he'd dropped the bomb that we were fated, when I asked us to meet on the full moon, it was because a part of me believed him. Not only that. I wanted it to be true, too.

  • My Luna with the Sleeping Wolf   Before sunset

Keira POVIn the last two days, I had very little sleep because of Liam. It took hours, but he'd eventually discovered my hiding place the day after. Once he did, he'd banged on the door almost all night. While he was busy with that, I got a hold of Conan using the intercom in the chamber where I locked myself up. I had him sneak into my study to get the spare copies of my divorce papers and Liam's reassignment at the Pine. Conan had held on to it and waited till the coast was clear. As soon as Liam grew bored of sticking near the guest chamber, he'd brought the files to me. It was a few minutes before dawn. I was starting to nod off when his gentle knock, followed by a whisper, woke me up and slipped the papers into the room. Now, it was the morning of the full moon. I was positively sick of being confined to this room. But it was either this or get raped by the soon-to-be ex.I sat on the bed with copies of the documents that Conan had dropped off discreetly. I let the images from
