CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX

"We'll handle it from here," Douglas announced as the Pack's advisors filed in to take their seats.

Andrew raised his brows at his father. Handle was not what the old alpha had been doing recently, he'd been making things a lot worse instead. He folded his arms with a questioning look. Even Laura seemed hesitant.

How were they sure that he wouldn't do something worse out of anger? Andrew didn't want to risk anything that would ruin his chances of leaving the pack for good. The old alpha had to be stable enough to handle the pack affairs.

"Douglas?" Laura questioned. "We could stay, you know?"

Douglas breathed out heavily.

"Laura, remember what I instructed you to do? We have no time. You need to begin preparations immediately. You guys go on."

"Father, shouldn't I stay with you?" Andrew probed.

He could feel his father's wolf prowling at the surface, the slightest provocation was going to set it off and the Pack's advisors weren't people to mince their words or hide their emotions
